Berjaya Langkawi Resort

very luxurious and comfort resort. we stayed in rainforest chalet, which was nice and big in jungle surrounding. nice pool and private beach. much extra’s included such as free towel service, free minibar, free bottled water, shuttle service from room to lobby … breakfast was very extensive. handy to have diner included as well, choice of 3 restaurants which one was buffet. many animals can be seen on the property. much luxe for good price! personel also very friendly!

some facilities were a little outdated, such as the wooden floor in our chalet could crack a little. but nothing unhygienic.

the procedure from check in until check out at the counter is well run as the staff is good at servicing customers. From the lobby to your room, you can either walk (if you want to feel more adventures) or you can take the shutter which is true as they say 24 hours. The breakfast is delicious and full of varieties.

Nice staff, good location, large resort and lots of space, easy to find your own spot to relax, several pools in good condition (one large, and two smaller for kids/recreation).

The resort lacked a little bit of upgrades due to covid, but no big deal. Everything was functioning. The seawater was not clear, that was the case for the whole larger area, probably because of heavy rain for a long time in Malaysia. Though nice weather at the time we were there. The beach was very nice, but the ground slightly slightly muddy on low water where the sea level started and onward. Nearby the beach some lake and spilling water flowed into the sea with not always too good smell and quality. So swimming in the seawater was not a great experience, though perfectly possible.

The hotel is located in a jungle forest, it’s an isolated resort with multiple bungalows. The area is huge, you can use buggies for moving around. The best of this resort is nature. The landscape is so very beautiful - the sea, the forest and of corse what I was delightful with as a kid - langur monkeys) so cute, at least 1 family of 15 species is living in the resort, you can feed them form your hands and even tough them, they are friendly and very funny. A feeling of immersion to nature as it is. Staff is very responsive and obliging.

The management could be better; the hotel was completely full, main restaurants was not capable to serve all the guests at the breakfast. A queue to get into the restaurant. A queue inside for omelettes. Dirty plates were not cleaned up promptly, no salt and tissues on the tables, lack of cups and glasses beside the coffee machine and some food is finished 1 hour before the breakfast ends. Some fried dishes from the menu cooked on a burnt oil, even the smell was not nice. Some fruited are not ripe on not tasty. Hot season, but needs to be considered by the hotel management. Restaurant price extremely high too.

Getting to the chalet/lobby may take some time as we had to wait for buggy/van to come and pick us up. The breakfasts were more or less of similar menu (stayed there for three nights). Had to wait for nearly 45 minutes to get our room ready upon checking in.

The staff were helpful, polite and all smiles. I had my room upgraded from family chalet (rainforest) to premier seaview. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. Pools are great, the kids enjoyed it so much. As the resort is quite secluded with its own private beach, it is very suitable for travellers during this COVID-19 pandemic trying to avoid crowd.

The location is fantastic - with the beach and the rainforest and the resident monkeys! The breakfast was great with lots of choice and always plenty of tables available. We ate in the restaurant one evening and all our meals were good. The pools are clean and well kept, the staff are extremely friendly. The mini bar gets re stocked every day (!) and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Would definitely recommend the Thai restaurant- the setting is stunning and food was great.

Some of the chalets are being renovated and some look a little tired from the outside. After reading some reviews I was expecting the whole resort to be slightly run down- but I was very pleasantly surprised!! We had a fabulous family holiday.

What an amazing resort! Chalets on stilts in the jungle with monkeys, exotic birds and trees, food in restaurants was excellent, pool is lovely with a swim up bar, private beach with loads of space and big swimming area, tennis courts, sports bar, and a fleet of electric buggies that picked you up from the room whenever you wanted and the dropped you back off at your chalet.. cannot recommend this place enough. Staff couldnt do more for us and were always welcoming and friendly. We did a 4hour jetski tour which was just over £100per person and an amazing kayak tour of the mangrove forest, both of which were fantastic and great value for money. Food was great and really well priced, and even the cocktails were only £3.. book it, you will not be disappointed.. 👍 they even provided a free minibar with drinks and snacks that was refilled every day! Awesome for thr family...

Nothing, genuinely a fabulous place and the staff were lovely.

Interconnected premiere rooms with sea view were ideal for our family. Location in the jungle, yet with nice beach and all amenities you expect in the resort (watersports, restaurants, bars, pool, spa), walking distance incl. complimentary shuttle to main Langkawi tourist sites: oriental village, cable car to sky bridge, Seven wells waterfall… Great mixture of international and asian cousine, both in breakfast lounge as in the restaurants. Complimentary jungle walk helped us understand local fauna and flora better, friendly and polite staff. We never had issue finding free sunbeds on the beach, “umbrellas” there were with wooden roof, so perfect UV protection, We enjoyed water jet ski rental and one of us a spa treatment. Overall great value for money.

A bit clumsy and not transparently clear benefits of vouchers we got for on line check-in, longer distances between chalets and amenities require need to book shuttles: golf carts and vans. Staff did their utmost but it normally meant 5-15 mins waiting time in front of the chalet. Air condition in the rooms was noisy and button to slow down the speed of fan or playing with temperature control didn’t have any impact, but we msnaged somehow by turning it on and off manually. Chinese a la carte restaurant was not operating during our stay. Nevertheless all these little things were not so imporant, we had great time.

It simply heaven at the earth, i really liked the ocean, green mountains, trees around and the houses.

Check in process takes long time like 1 hour Bugs in the room but frankly we expect this because the villa insidd the jungle and I’m sure they did great job to resist Monkeys 🙊 but when you locked the windows no harm at all

The Berjaya Langkawi Resort's chalets in the jungle as well as on the water are a real experience. Both offer plenty of privacy, a mini-bar with complimentary drinks and snacks, and a small bathroom with plenty of amenities and a rainforest shower. Breakfast buffets are available in two restaurants, with the Beach Brasserie clearly winning. Even though the buffet here is much smaller, the food is much higher quality and you are personally served at the table. The best dinner is served at the Pahn Thai Restaurant - a Thai restaurant on stilts above the sea. The cocktails are good and inexpensive, the food tastes outstanding and the waiters are extremely attentive and friendly.

If you are looking for food, you should avoid the Dayang Cafe. It is crowded at breakfast, the waiters are overworked and the food is of poor quality. At dinner, they serve a la carte and the waiters are very friendly, but the food is still prepared with poor quality ingredients. Beef and chicken are very fatty and tough, and the cocktails are watery.
