The g Hotel

Stayed two nights over the June bank holiday weekend. Have always liked the G hotel. Stayed in a suite which was very comfortable and overlooked Lough Atalia. Had food one night on the restaurant and it was really excellent - best meal we have had in a long time. Waiters were attentive and pleasant and provided excellent service.

Unfortunately the bathroom in our suite was not fully clean. There were shards of broken glass under the bath and there were white spots of dirt on the floor which was not pleasant. You can see that cost cutting measures have taken place at the hotel and this is noticeable. Would expect perfection from a five star hotel. Staff were in the main very attentive and pleasant - however it would be worthwhile for the hotel to revisit its grooming policy and perhaps emphasise importance of clean uniforms, polished shoes and also shaving and hair styles. Recognise the current staffing environment is challenging but spent 5 star money at the hotel and would expect 5 star standards.

the dark decor in the corridor leading to the bedroom.. our bedroom was at the very back of the hotel which was disappointing and the bedroom itself could do with a well needed revamp!! The bathroom was definitely in need of a revamp and the decor was shabby!! I definitely wouldn’t rate the bedroom as one in a 5* hotel.

The hotel is very modern and staffed by a friendly, professional team. We had a lake view suite which was big with a wonderful bathroom and separate loo. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. It was a 15 minute stroll to Eyre Square, but the hotel is on the main bus routes too. We sampled the Spa facilities which were excellent. The breakfast was served by very attentive staff, this was a great plus over buffet style. There are two lifts to the rooms with no discernable delay at any time. Overall a good hotel in a good location if you are OK to walk.

The hotel is located on a retail park so the ambience is unique! On the plus side the underground parking is vast and there was plenty of space.

Really comfortable hotel, nice interiors. Bed was extremely comfortable and great shower. Great Guinness! Nice breakfast. Staff were great. Overall had a lovely stay.

Didn't think the communal areas downstairs were overly big and seemed very confined to one section of the hotel but not much can be done about that. Our TV and room pad had technical difficulties which were sorted out on day 2 but we had to go without on night 1. Spa was great!, albeit I thought it was a bit cheeky to charge guests €15 per entry when you are already paying a large sum of money for 2 nights' stay. Could give you entry for 1.5hrs for free and then you pay for anything else extra. Just a thought!

Hotel is pretty- although colors in the hallways are eclectic and dark. Room was a good size and bathrooms were huge. Water pressure is fantastic. Staff was helpful and I appreciated that they allowed room service for the breakfast that was included in the room rate. Bartenders were very friendly and knowledgeable. Miguel was very helpful and fun to talk to. The machine that prints logos on the Guinness pints was entertaining.

Food was not great- but The Huntsman across the street was delicious. Pillows were very flat- I should have asked for a different type- but we were out late most days. No USB ports to charge phones- so bring plenty of adapters/ converters. Had to keep the drapes closed as there were workers outside the window watering plants as any time of the day. Hair dryer was just ok. Complimentary car was hard to book and not always available

The property is very nice and room big spacious and beautiful. Very convenient with a supermarket and cinema underneath also walking distance to shops, the parking is valet and price is fair 10 euro for the whole stay. We enjoyed it very much and the room got Netflix so we really liked it and was very comfy.

The service is good in general but I think it s understaffed. The breakfast took forever. We had to waited for long time to be seated, to be served and the cuteries were missing and had to ask for many items like coffee, butter etc, the restaurant floor is sticky and not very clean. The foods took forever to arrive not becoz of the service as it was good, but they are so under staffs and not enough people to serve everyone. The chicken wings I ordered were overcooked and pretty bad, the oysters were fresh and good so was the veggie burger, pretty delicious too.

Very spacious room, with a large, very comfortable bed. Very quiet, with no noise from the corridor. Excellent breakfast, and we just had the Seafood Chowder for lunch, which was also excellent. Free parking, and 15 minute stroll to Eyre Square, so great location. We arrived early, and reception staff were very accommodating. We left our bags and when we came back later, they were in our room.

Shower was in the bath, and I prefer a walking shower - but that's just my personal choice, and not really an issue. Otherwise everything was perfect, and we would be happy to stay there again.

I loved the staff, the attention we received from entry to exit. The customer service was sublime and incomparable to anything I've ever experienced before. We received a complimentary upgrade as it was my boyfriend's birthday. The room was immaculate. Absolutely blown away by the bathroom in particular. The view of the lake from our window was the icing on the cake.

The restaurant food wasn't my typical cuisine and there were limited options for dessert. However, I wouldn't discredit the Geo. The presentation and service were immaculate.

Absolutely fabulous we are already looking at coming back. Presseco on arrival really set off the start of our stay a great touch. Our bags were taken to our room and as our room wasn’t ready we received a complimentary drink at the bar which was again such a nice touch we really weren’t expecting. When we went to our room they had Lindt chocolate bunnies on the table and some chocolates what more could you ask for. We decided to head into the city that evening and they offered a complimentary car service to take us to wherever we wanted to go which took the hassle out of organising a taxi. Breakfast the next morning was absolutely fabulous and we also booked the thermal experience which was just so relaxing they only had a couple of people in it at the one time which made it so much nicer. It really is the little things throughout our stay that really just made our stay so special. We have already recommended it to friends and family who are now eager to book their stay.
