the location was perfect just past the college with an easy walk into town, also a bus stop nearby if needed. breakfast was awesome, with a huge selection. Paul and Amy were the perfect hosts from helping with luggage, place to go for dinner, and ice when needed. Amy had prepared cake for us upon arrival that was chef quality and taste. place was spotless.

Paul and Amy are amazing hosts! They strive to ensure you feel comfortable about your stay. The breakfast is exceptional! They serve incredible tasting and generous breakfast dishes that Amy prepares and serves with an artistic presentation. The dining room is lovely and breakfast is served using very nice china. Our room on the third floor was very nice. The bed was quite comfy and the bathroom was spacious enough for 2 people to move around. There was plenty of natural light in the bathroom, too; there was a large skylight which you could also open for additional air if you like. The shower had really good pressure and temperature controls; it is on the smaller end, but we have found most tend to be. But, it worked fine for us. Since we did not have a car, we looked for a place within walking distance from the train station. The Petra House is conveniently located within a 10-20 minute walk to the tourist areas (Latin Quarter, Spanish Arch...). In addition, you can find the docks for a ferry and day tour buses quite easily. Galway is clean and feels safe. It is a lovely and lively city! Don't hesitate to stay here!!!

The husband and wife team exuded warmth, kindness, and a genuine passion for ensuring their guests have an unforgettable experience. We had such lovely chats we Amy and Paul and learnt so much about their and the bnbs background. They were always on hand to offer helpful advice, recommend hidden gems, and share fascinating stories about Galway. It was an absolute pleasure to engage in conversations with them, and their genuine enthusiasm and passion. We cannot recommend this B&B highly enough. Nothing :) everything was more than we expected!

We really enjoyed our visit at Petra House. The room was clean and spacious. The made to order breakfast was incredible, especially the beautiful fruit platter. Paul and Amy were so friendly and welcomed us to their cute bed and breakfast. They made us feel at home. Paul was a pleasure to talk to at breakfast and was able to help us plan one of our days, which ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. It was approximately a 10 minute safe walk into the city of Galway. We would definitely recommend staying at the Petra House. It was like visiting family.

There was nothing we didn't like about Petra House.

Amy and Paul have created a wonderful atmosphere at their B&B. From the beginning, they answered my email questions promptly and upon arrival for our one night stay, they were both very welcoming. They thought of every everything to make your stay great and the bed is easily the most comfortable one we slept on during our two week travels through Scotland and Ireland. Breakfast was a choice of starter (yogurt and fruit, porridge, etc. and then hot mains including yummy pancakes) and the two women who helped serve were friendly and helpful. We wish we had stayed longer than just one night but even then Amy and Paul were wonderful hosts for our short stay.

Paul and Amy and their team are exceptional. The room was clean comfortable and ideal for our 2 night stay. Breakfast was a treat nothing was too much for the team. Paul in particular went out of his way to make our stay comfortable and easy, I think he should write a manual on how to run a B&B with customer focus. Thankyou Paul and Amy for making our stay memorable. Oh and by the way Petra is ideally located to the centre of town while offering a peaceful quiet retreat. P.S. thankyou Amy for the carrot cake slice on arrival it was delicious

Wonderful welcome (with tea and cake), which continued with a super-friendly host & hostess. Room was bright and clean - everything working well. Breakfast was delicious - even with home-made bread. Located walking distance from town, so I could leave the car behind when I explored Galway.

Room, and especially the bathroom, was a little small ... but fine for me on my own. Booking.com site called the room 'lake view', but this property is located in a residential district and I doubt any of the rooms can look over the lake - mine had a view of a residential street.

Petra House is a fantastic place to stay if you are visiting Galway and I highly recommend it. It is ideally located near the city centre and Galway coach station (for those travelling by bus). Everything is in walkable distance. The neighborhood is quiet and safe (I can attest to that as a woman travelling on her own). The room I stayed in was cozy, very comfortable and clean. It also had a hairdryer, an ironing board, a TV, great WiFi. The bathroom was equally spotless and a few toiletries were provided. The breakfast was delicious. The owners even provided a short form to fill out to take into account any allergies or diet preferences, which I thought was very thoughtful. The owners Paul and Amy are lovely and they instantly made me feel at home. I wish I could have stayed longer!

I loved everything.

I liked all. From the greeting I got to when I left. I had stayed in Petra before and knew it would be an excellent choice. The bedroom was spotlessly clean. Coffee and tea facilities. Ironing board and Iron. Luggage rack. Shower gel and shampoo in ensuite. Bed was comfortable and house was quiet at night, even though there were a number of adults and children. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. Hosts were very friendly and helpful, also lovely waitress. Would love to stay at Petra House again.

The breakfast was from a set selection that offered many options. It was made to order and served with a smile. The hosts/owners went out of their way to make us welcome. And they went above and beyond to accommodate us when it was discovered that I had mis-booked the length of our stay. The location was quiet despite being on a busy street and it is a straight 10 minute walk to the city center.

I always would like a little more counter space in the bathroom to stage our toiletries.
