Cityhotel Monopol

This is a nice hotel right on the Reeperbahn so if that is where you want to be the location is brilliant. The hotel and bar/restaurant is all one building so it is very easy to call in for a beer or coffee before heading out or returning back at the end of the night! There is a lift to the fourth floor so you have to walk up a flight of stairs if your are on the 5th floor. My room (504) was at the back of the hotel so I can't comment about any noise from the Reeperbahn, there is another cafe/bar atthe back of the hotel and I did here some emptying of bottle bins but nothing to really complain about. The room was basic but had most things, a fan or climate control would have been nice. I booked several months ago and am happy with the price, you get a good place to stay in a great location - it isn't luxory but for the price/location it is very good and I would happily stay here again.

There wan't anything to like really, as I said above some form of climate control would have been nice as it was a very warm weekend. The bathroom is functional but I would have liked a little more space and larger sink but I can't really complain.

Staff were super friendly. Hotel was really easy to find and the rooms were really clean and comfy. Location is PERFECT for those looking to party on the Reeperbahn! The hotel wasn't actually as loud as I was expecting and I slept pretty well even when we went to sleep whilst the clubs were still going strong. Would definitely stay here again!

I knew this going in, but this is more of a warning for anyone that doesn't know Hamburg. This hotel is right in the middle of one of the busiest party streets in Germany, maybe in the whole of Europe... It's not going to be a good hotel for a family vacation, and you're probably not going to get a great night's sleep. If you're looking for one of those things... Maybe find a hotel in another location.

Clean, comfortable with friendly helpful staff. Downstairs bar is good. Did not try the breakfast. Got a free upgrade and was not charged for requested late check out. Would definitely stay here again if I came back.

I could hear and feel the music from the nightclub next door. But that's not the hotels fault and if you stay in the heart of the Reeperbahn it is to be expected to a certain extent.

Nice breakfast and great location! 3 minutes walk from the S-bahn or bus connections. Right in the heart of Reeperbahn. Could get easily to a lot of places from there. Room was comfortable and quiet despite facing the street.

Bathroom was a bit small, shower curtain was a bit short so whenever showering it flooded the whole bathroom. Although room was very quiet for the location and facing the street, there was still a bit of noise, not a problem for me but if you're a light sleeper you might not enjoy it.

The hotel itself was really nice and most importantly clean. There's no AC so in summer it is quite hot, but that's alright to me as ACs aren't common in central Europe.

The location is not quite good - Reeperbahn is a red light district and I've never seen so many junkies and homeless people around. Place looked scary to leave your car for a night. Not many nice walks could be done there.

Staff really friendly the bed was comfortable, decent size room. Nice breakfast in the morning. The bar at the hotel was good.

Just very loud at night, but the hotel was in the middle of all the nightlife so to be expected so not complaining. Just letting others know, you may need earplugs. 

The Location and the service desk was outstanding. Very accommodating and a pleasure to deal with.

The beds, but that could be because I/we are not used to 2 beds pushed together to make a double bed, therefore I don't blame the facility.

Nice spacious room. The pillows are very comfortable.

There were no tea/coffee making supplies such as a water kettle, tea bags etc. The location of this hotel is not a family friendly area. Also that area is dirty and full of homeless people.

The hotel was very central, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, I couldn't fault the hotel at all, does exactly what it says on the tin.

The prices on the menu in the bar differed from the price being paid, not drastically, but just be aware of this.

Excellent selections of bread / rolls ,with ample choices of sliced meat's both cold and hot, selections of cheese . Also Jam's and Cereals. Both hot and Cold drinks.

Could have been quieter, but this is traditional the party area of Hamburg , with many Clubs and venues. Also a popular erea for pre Wedding parties, so be aware of that before you book.
