ibis Dresden Zentrum

The hotel belongs to a chain, so you know what to expect. In Dresden, it exceeded my expectations. The hotel is not too far from the railway station which makes it very convenient to reach by foot. There are quite a few shops, restaurants, and cafeterias nearby. The historical center is also not too far, maybe 15 minutes walk. The room was very clean and bright. It is also air-conditioned via a central ac. I stayed in Dresden during very hot summer days, but it was nicely fresh in my room. I liked that in the shower the hot water appeared immediately after turning it on, no need to wait for a few minutes :) The breakfast had plenty of options.

Around 8 am there is a breakfast rush hour, so it's becoming not too comfortable. Though it was okay both earlier and later. In the hotel's yard, there is a nice garden where the local kids gather to make noise in the evening. Though during my stay, they left every day around 9 pm.

Location couldn't be better. Short walk from main railway station, and in turn, a further (not quite so) short walk to the restored historic area. No shortage of places to eat nearby. As a fresh air fiend, very surprised (pleasantly so) to find that my 7th floor window opened fully, affording an unobstructed view. Those with vertigo might think differently. Terrific shower - very forceful - be careful!

On my booking, hotel referred to as "Ibis Centrum", but is composed of two separate blocks. Each is named, but neither of these is "Centrum". Anyway, when I convinced myself that this was the right place, I checked in in one, then walked a hundred metres or so to my block. A perfectly pleasant breakfast buffet was available in a set of hard to find rooms on the first floor - I found a few folk wandering around looking for the right place. And if thats the worst I can come up with by way of "what didn't you like?", I think they did fine.

Breakfast definately worth the money. Try the mini croissant, way better the in many other hotels. Towels and bedding fragrance free. Very clean and helpful staff. We had gotten the 3 day city passes for the price of one day pass, giving us the opportunity to take advantage of day time exiting city as well as the city of Meißen know from inventing porcelain in Europe and also do the Watchman's tour I can highly recommend if you speak German.

The two pillows where super flimsy, One of the two pillows should have a bit more substance. And the first day breakfast had Bread rolls ( Brötchen) that seem a day old and reconstituted by re baking than, leaving them a bit dry. Brötchens should be daily fresh, every day. However, the following days that had been fresh.

It's a rather old hotel but still kept in decent shape. Rooms are spacious, however, soon more modern decoration, USB charging ports, and a few more convenient upgrades should appear. The location is great! Very close to the main train station close to the university and the old town.

The breakfast room was a bit crowded, which was to be expected as 10000 people came to a conference at the university. The same goes for the reception at check-in. The hotel is not designed to operate at the full capacity of guests with very similar time schedules.

Standard Ibis hotel close to both the train station, tram stops and to the city center, clean, comfortable, good value for money. Opposite to the reception is a fridge where one can buy some basic snacks, sandwiches, drinks, beer, wine or coffee. The Prager Strasse is also full of restaurants and shops.

The wifi was moody and sometimes useless, but I stayed in the hotel during a big conference in Dresden so probably too many conference guests were using it at once.

The staff on arrival were extremely friendly, happy and very helpful. Such nice people

In the morning my colleague went to the restaurant looking for a cup of coffee. We had not booked in for breakfast but as we were driving on to Ukraine with humanitarian aid, would have liked a coffee to start the day. My colleague was confronted by a rude and abrupt member of staff that simply told him as he wasn't booked in for breakfast he couldn't have one, even though he was prepared to pay for it separately. Considering the experiences we have had using IBIS since doing these trips, this was a disappointing reaction.

I have chosen it to have a bed, a tub and a nice desk at the same my colleagues got a room elsewhere. I was very happy of my choice because I could work very well (thanks also to the many plugs!), nap without touching the bed that I like to reserve for the night. Also I could have very nice foam bath. Great location! Both for the historical part of Dresden, shopping and restaurants. About the hygiene: it was clean and I can tell because I walked around with my bare feet. I can tell that furniture and carpet are old and there are spots due to this. Nevertheless, I think that the problem is only esthetic.

Breakfast was not bad, but the juice was close to water. Also they could not give the bill the day before, so I had to wake up very early to be sure to be on time to my appointments on the last day.

The hotel is located right in the center. Within walking distance of all shops and attractions. Affordable parking facilities nearby. Rooms are big.

Unfortunatelly our room had poor internet connections. Breakfast is okay but hast limited selection.

Breakfast was good and with a lot to choose from. Housekeeping was also excellent. The room was clean and had a good view. The hotel is in the center of the city main market and close to the central railway station.

Check in/ check out, for the hotel is in another building which is about 50-70 meters away. It was a little irritating.

Centrally located very near the station and in one of the main shopping streets, only about 15-20 mins walk from the old town and the main sights. The room was clean and comfortable and looked like it had recently been renovated. Great choice at breakfast. Staff were friendly and polite.
