ibis La Rochelle Vieux Port

Hotel staff booked a taxi for me the day of my departure but the taxi never came. I was running late for my flight. One of the hotel staff actually went on the bus with me, paid for my bus fair and took me to the nearest coach station and got a taxi for me there. i was able to catch me flight in time to get back home. In my case, this hotel staff went above and beyond helping me to get to the airport ok. As my next flight home wouldn't be in another 4 days. This hotel staff saved my extra days of accommodation and a flight ticket. for this reason, i would rate even higher if i could. i would Definitely stay at this hotel again but maybe arrange a pick up and drop off taxi service before hand.

A great location in the vieux port. It's a short stroll to the main attractions, with the terrific Aquarium & the Marine Museum close by, but it's far enough away that the racket of harbourside performers & crowds isn't audible. And the crowds are significant at nighttime. Nice quirky feel, as the building began life as a church. You can drop luggage off as there are some 15 minute parking spaces right outside the hotel's front door. Good petit-dejeuner. Longer parking is nearby in an underground car park; a 24 hour stay was around 20 euros, which is a steal in a tourist hotspot at the height of summer.

Location was near the marina with everything in easy walking distance. Lovely little shaded courtyard area was a welcome retreat to enjoy a drink after a long day exploring. The pre-booked parking was a huge bonus. However what made our stay was the exceptionally friendly team who went out of their way to make this a memorable stay as nothing seemed to be too much trouble and every request was greeted with a smile - 1st class service!

Bed was a bit hard for our liking as was a divan with mattress topper and pillows a little lumpy so not the most comfortable sleep for us

hotel perfect for exploring la Rochelle on foot. Close to station , good value , room is good , clean and bed was a good size. Staff on reception/ breakfast friendly .Breakfast selection was good for the price. Would use again in spite of some negatives noted.

No tea/ coffee facilities in the room which we knew beforehand. Air conditioning although adjusted made room uncomfortable even with window open . Breakfast was chaotic with lack of trays, glasses etc. Social distancing and covid rules were not followed at breakfast due to lack of planning / lack of control on numbers entering for breakfast at the same time. Introduce breakfast reservations to help staff and keep everyone safe

Breakfast very good, staff lovely and friendly. Bed very comfortable and had everything necessary for a short stay. Courtyard was peaceful for a quiet drink and reading before dinner. Location perfect.

Could have a grip mat in the shower. Loungers in the courtyard would have been lovely to relax.

Centrally located, once again parked car in underground carpark 100mts away and didn't touch until we left. Every thing was easy walking distance around harbour/quay. Don't worry when sites say you can't get cruise tickets, we walked up to kiosk and booked for next morning, after visiting sites saying nil available..

Nil at accomodation

The staff are super friendy and helpful. The location is excellent, just near the old port where all bars, restaurants and bakeries are located. It is also a few steps from the train station. Overall, it is highly recommended to take this hotel as nany are near place verdun which is a totally different experience!

It was exceptional

The location is perfect near the Vieux Port, in the heart of St Nicholas quartier. The room is small but practical, with a desk where I could work a little bit. The furniture is new. Very clean. Good french breakfast.

I had no hairdryer. Due to Covid rules of the hotel, it was no cleaning service for an entire week. My colleagues in Mercure had a cleaning service though.

Location was perfect, Hotel was spotless and rooms comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Staff very helpful with great recommendations.

Personal preference, would love a iron in room.

The breakfast was very good, the staff were excellent and allowed us to check in, a few hours early which was a great bonus.

The Air conditioning did not work, a small fridge and kettle as in the other parts of the hotel chain would have been greatly appreciated
