Maisons du Monde Hôtel & Suites - La Rochelle Vieux Port

The location & style of the hotel was wonderful, smallish room but very clean & comfortable, bed was comfy, especially liked the the soundproofed windows with views! Breakfast was lovely, great choice, staff very helpful & friendly, both waiting staff & reception. wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel & would love to stay again next time we visit the beautiful La Rochelle! Merci beaucoup!

Not a dislike at all. The room was quite small, we ran out of shower gel, & no hook for the shower head, bit disappointed that there were no delicious fresh Madeleines on our 2nd morning. But very minor things that wouldn’t at all put us off returning & doesn’t detract from the amazing staff & place it is.

your staff were excellent breakfast was very good. Hotel was charming location was brillant

lift not working while we were there but this was not the fault of the hotel. We could have used the other lift but choose not too. This was only a little thing did not change our view of the hotel which we loved. We would have liked a small fridge in our room but again cold water was supplied on the second floor.

Another good stay at this hotel. Large clean room with good air con, which was needed as had to keep windows closed due to noise from street below. Check in easy, staff friendly, and breakfast plentiful with good quality produce.

As with last year, rooms cleaned far too late in the day, one day it still hadn't been cleaned by nearly 4pm and I had to go to reception and request that they do us next as the children wanted a rest before dinner. The final day I asked at lunchtime for it to be done by 2pm and it was, so staff are happy to help if they know.

The location was excellent being close to a number of the main attractions. The staff were exceptional , very friendly and helpful with any issues that arose dealt with promptly. A special mention goes to Kat who made breakfast time so enjoyable in terms of her preparation , fantastic cooking and helpful advice.

The servicing of the room was poor on a few occasions with essential bathroom items not being replenished. When brought to the attention of staff this was rectified promptly together with a complimentary offering.

We had a huge family Room and it was lovely and clean. We arrived early and we were let into our room as it was ready. It was in the best location for getting straight into La Rochelle.

The parking was an issue - nothing can be done about this but it’s sensible to know it could take a good 30mins of waiting for a space. The other slight issue we had was that the aircon wasn’t working properly however, they immediately brought us fans which solved our issue.

A very warm welcome from the delightful staff was a great start. Nothing was too much trouble and check-in was quick and easy. The room was modest in size but perfect for our stay - clean, aircon, good shower and a very comfy bed! Breakfast was in a really lovely dining room and the staff, again, were brilliant - really friendly and helpful. Breakfast is a very good and plentiful selection of fresh options. The Hotel has a boutique feel to it with lovely furnishings and art pieces. It is superbly situated for the old port, and public paid-for parking is close by (beware he Google maps might try and take you across pedestrian areas if you are trying to find the Vieux Port Ouest car park, so use your common sense!). Overall a fantastic stay at a superb hotel with outstanding staff. we loved it.

Very central, right next to the iconic towers and with bars and restaurants on the doorstep. Friendly and helpful staff. Large public parking lot just around the corner.

I was allocated a room right next to the lift (the second time this has happened on this trip) and I had to pay extra for a different room. That one was quieter, but anyone over about 5ft tall, like me, would not be able to stand in the shower, which is under a sloping roof. Otherwise the hotel is nice.

Fabulous hotel right in the heart of the old port of Rochelle. Staff very helpful and welcoming. Clean, comfotable and cool (in the heat of August) with good air conditioning. Views from our room over the busy pedestrian area and port, but totally quiet when the windows were closed. Parking in the public car park was an easy short walk away and the hotel provide a discounted rate for 24 hours. Hotel provided some really helpful information by email before we arrived. Lots of restaurants around although they did get full and some of the best ones didn't take reservations!

Nice, bohemian interior decorations from the parent company's home goods store by the same name. Lots of zones to do some work. Dining room also doubles as a co-working space with a large communal table. The central air conditioning was a refresher during the August heatwave! The hotel is along the bars and busy restaurants of the Old Port but inside, it's so quiet you would not notice any noise. The breakfast buffet offers a good start to your day - more continental. It had a nice selection of charcuterie and cheeses. And many pastries. If you are looking for savory options, it only offers hash browns and boiled eggs.

Unfortunately the air conditioning in our Family Room leaked and caused a flood in the middle to the room. We were moved to a Jr Suite but were looking forward to enjoying the 2 double beds in the Family Room vs the double + single in the Jr Suite.

Beautiful design and very comfortable. In the centre of the old port. Welcomed my little dog. Lots of books to read and games to play in lobby and lounge area.

Parking was difficult to navigate around the city. I had a 15 minute walk from the car to the property. I told the desk staff I needed a 6 am checkout and was assured a member of staff would be on the desk. No one was on the desk. I kept calling out and looking for someone. Eventually I had to call the réservations Line to attract attention. This put a lot of pressure on me as I had a 6 hour drive to the ferry ahead of me.
