Hotel Victor Hugo

After a late meeting in Paris, I stopped in lower-cost Dijon on my way home to Switzerland. This small hotel and its friendly 24-hour reception are an 8-minute walk from Dijon's main train station. On my way to the hotel, I bought some food items at a convenience store. The room and bathroom were roomy enough; there was a folding stand for my suitcase. My room looked out on a silent garden. I was able to keep my food cool on the outside window sill.

Some people might find the room small, but for the price it was just fine.

Very nice stay at this well located hotel just north of the city centre but walkable in 5-10 minutes. Also 5 mins from the tram stop. Hotel is in a quiet residential street. Very helpful reception staff - allowed me to drop my bags 3 hours before check in. Room was clean with a comfortable bed and decent shower.

As in many European hotels the sink plug was completely useless!

Good value for money. Pleasant hotel with good staff. Rooms are fair size for city location. Room was quiet and comfortable with room overlooking trees and adjacent houses. It's facilities are basic but provide what's needed for a few days and reflective of its two star status

Really the only small thing was room having just one plug socket was the only minor inconvenience.

Good location, close to a beautiful park and one of the main streets for shopping and that leads to the centre where the museums are. The staff was polite and accommodating. The breakfast was good, the fresh viennoiseries and bread were delicious. Tea, coffee, chocolate and cereals are available in a buffet style.

Small, cozy hotel nearby Old Town. Very nice and helpful staff. Room was cozy, clean and in very good condition. Breakfast was simple but good and worthy of its price. Bathroom was clean and nice. Hotel is nearby Old Town (5 minutes walk) and very good brasserie with traditional local dishes is on the same street. Hotel has small underground parking garage, which will be tricky to use if you have big car but we managed it.

toilet was separated from bathroom and has no sink, it isn't my favorite configuration.

Hotel is very well located, just a short walk from the main attractions. The street is quiet and parking is available on the street and in the courtyard. For travellers with large luggage it is worth noting there is no elevator, which is inconvenient if you get a room at the second floor as we had.

Staff were very friendly, there was private parking and the air con was a great feature considering this heatwave! The room was simple but clean and comfortable.

The breakfast was a little basic and there is no lift so not ideal with luggage / pram.

A short walk from great Dijon sights. But v quiet location. The standard of the room was better than most 2*. Very pleasant reception staff.

Breakfast was a bit limited - some cheese/ meats would have been welcome.

everything was amazing, the breakfast 10/10 and the staff was really welcoming

The hairdryer was broken and there wasn’t enough light in the restroom besides that everything was great

The staff was very friendly, the matrasses firm and comfortable, the bathroom looked recently renovated and everything was very clean. The reception is open 24/7

Not really an issue for us, but if you want to park your car at the hotel, you will need to leave your keys at the reception so staff members can move your car when necessary.
