Mercure Lyon Charbonnières

From the outside I was nervous about what I was getting into, but it was nicer than it looked from the outside. My first impression was that the service was excellent. Very friendly encounters with all the employees. The room was a decent size and comfortable. The thermostat actually worked, which isn't always a given. The breakfast was good with a decent selection. OK location if you're visiting Lyon and don't want to pay the premium to stay in town.

I guess it's a dog friendly hotel because there were two families with their dogs at breakfast, which proceeded to have a barking match. Not before my coffee!

The location was perfect for us to avoid Lyon which was crowded because of the Festival of light, and to have some peace and quiet in the night. We loved the breakfast, with the nice view and lots of different pastry and meal options.

The scent/parfume used in the hallways was always very strong and heavy, it ruins the atmosphere. Other than that, all was good

The hotel is nicely located as I had to attend meetings in Tassin-La-Demi-Lune. Check-in and checkout were straightforward, with a friendly welcome.

Rooms are a bit noisy, and I could hear people walking around, doors closing, and any other noise. The main door was creaking in my hallway, which was quite annoying. The bar was closing at 10ish, although it states it closes at 11 pm on the room info card.

Very accommodating staff, good covid protocol, and great breakfast with great variety of dishes to chose from. Enjoyed being able to cook my own eggs, and the amount of fresh fruits and savoury options for breakfast.

Not enough paper glasses in the room for the 4 of us, pillows very uncomfortable (while bed itself very comfy). Restaurant is closed on Fridays. you order take away but not allowed to eat it on the terrace or garden!!! Only in your room with not enough chairs et. Good COVID protocol but cleaning staff walks around corridors and rooms with mask under their neck.

The breakfast buffet had a good selection, and staff were available to provide any additional requests. Dinner was BBQ night, with good food, and live music. Staff provided excellent service. The room was clean, and well organized, with a mini fridge in the room as well. Definitely worth another stop in future.

The location outside Lyon, easily accessible. Quiet suburban area. Ecellent high class hotel with a decent restaurant! Very comfortable clean room.

The maitre in the restaurant could be more friendly and not to pretend to be a teacher in school.

The scramble eggs were not good, too much moisture and kind of sweet. The rest was great, good coffee and friendly staff.

Very good breakfast, clean facilities, easy access, quiet neighborhood.

The mattress of the extra bed was uncomfortable and not suitable for a child that can fall off.

Everything. Clean, nicely styled, comfortable beds, everything we needed was there. The breakfast was incredible!

Not enough parking space.

Easy to get to, spacious parking and comfortable rooms. Friendly check-in. Unfortunately restaurant was shut, everywhere locally was fully booked, so drove into town.
