Brigitte was a star. She speaks very little English but was so charming & helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for her. She recommended a lovely French restaurant on the same street which was very good. We loved the rooftop terrace. A perfect place for a coffee (tea coffee & sweets provided) a glass of wine and a pleasant chat with other guests. Although our room was not large it had a very comfortable bed with memory foam mattress, fans, plug points and a lovely clean bathroom. Breakfast consisted of fruit juice, bowl of chopped fresh fruit, yoghurt, bread, croissant, home made jam & tea or coffee. The portions were so large I had to ask for half the amount the second day. The location was superb, only a 5 min walk to the old city. I would certainly use this b@ b again

It was very hot when we stayed so air con would have Improved our stay. Otherwise nothing

The hostess, Brigitte, wonderful lady! Think she may be the owners mum! She can't speak any english, but she makes up for that in her lovely, warm manner, and also using google translate, asking if everything is ok, and telling you to enjoy yourself! We enjoyed being on the rooftop terrace in the evenings, with the tea/ coffee/ water and sweets that are there for the guests. You can (but we didn't) have a lovely breakfast there too! The rooms are good and clean, with free wifi, comfortable memory foam bed, TV, toiletries, and a fan!! Would definitely recommend this charming little hotel, a great position to explore the city, a 10-15min walk to the entrance of the castle going across the old bridge. A 5 min walk to the town centre! And the shuttle bus stop to/from the airport is literally round the corner! €6 each way!

They're doing some road and path improvements in the street! That's the only bad thing!

The property is typical small, French terraced property with an authentic charm. The location is absolutely ideal if your plan is to explore the Cité during the day. Turn right out of the front door and the street runs straight on to the Pont Vieux which takes you to the West gate. Dining in the central square and surrounding streets of the 'new' city in the evening is easy, being just a 10 minute stroll if you turn left out of the door. The landlady speaks no English but we got by just fine with our basic French (with a bit of help from Google Translate) and she is really helpful. On the first morning part of the breakfast was a bowl of freshly chopped fruit. Unfortunately I'm allergic to bananas and so she prepared me a fresh bowl from scratch without them, and the following day there were no bananas in sight! :-) The view of the illuminated Cité from the roof terrace makes the perfect backdrop to end the evening with a drink before bed. If you're looking for a 'Holiday Inn' with a reception desk and English speaking staff then the Hotel Les Chevaliers a hundred yards away would probably be the best bet for you but, if you're after a stay in a homely house and to experience real French hospitality then dust off your schoolboy French, and this place will fit the bill perfectly. Bon Voyage!

Whilst we were there in mid-June 2023 there were roadworks around Square Gambetta and the street outside the property was being resurfaced with beautiful new cobble setts and so access was a bit like a building site but this was no fault of the property and I'm sure that by early July this will be completed and the street will look stunning. Also, it wasn't a problem for us but the stairs are quite small and steep so it's worth bearing this in mind if you have lots of large luggage.

What made me chose it was Its proximity to the cite of Carcassonne and to the parking lot. We had a great time dining and having wine at the rooftop terrace which has the view of the old cite of Carcassonne. The owner even had coffee and quite a wide of tea in the terrace to choose from. The owner was really nice and accommodating. She doesn’t speak English at all but we didn’t have an issue as she speaks German. Also, when I tired talking to her using my translator to ask about parking she was okay with it. The huge TV that comes with Netflix was a bonus. Breakfast was simple but filling.

Nothing really about the property but the construction nearby made it tricky to find as our navigation kept on leading us to a closed road

We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay in this lovely, old and characterful guest house. We received a very warm welcome from our friendly host, who took us up to our room on the top floor, next to the rooftop terrace, which has a lovely view of the city. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a modern en suite and an excellent shower. Breakfast was fresh and healthy and carefully prepared and presented by our host. The location of the guest house is excellent and we felt we received excellent value for money.

Just to note, that the beautiful old winding staircase is likely to be difficult for those with mobility difficulties.

Very good location just between "Cite" (The Citadel) and the new town and 2 minutes on foot to the bridge The room is very clean and moderated but the building itself is very small and old. The floor creaks when you walk up the stairs The very accommodating elder lady takes care of us inclluding the breakfast. It was a pity that she can not speak English at all. I regret that I could not communicate with her very well

It is like a Bed and Breakfast. No luxury. The house itself is very old even if the room is kept very clean. Difficult to open the door with the key for the visitors.

Lovely Hostess Brigette. Authentic old French house with winding wooden stairs, 3 floors and a cute rooftop terrace . Does mean you can hear floorboards etc but the room was very modern, massive tv and had everything you would need with nice little touches like a dressing gown, netflix. Newly renovated ensuite. Free coffee in the rooftop terrace. Lovely breakfast and any request was accommodated. The street has roadworks currently so it looks more rundown than it is.

no street lights late at night, spooky. Might just have been out of order on the night I stayed. 10.30 am check out is early (but typical in France). Signage could be clearer.

I like how accommodating the host was. The lady didn't speak English but she had an app which was translating French to English and vice versa, so it was easy to communicate. They also allow us to leave luggage before check-in so we could explore. The breakfast was lovely and we had an option to have it on the balcony. The room was great too! Lovely place with nice restaurants nearby and a short walk to the castle.

I liked the stay a lot, but if you have any mobility issues, there are only stairs to the rooms, so bear that in mind.

Wonderful hostess; very friendly and caring. She doesn’t speak English, and our French is bad, so we started by using a translator app. However, by accident we discovered she speaks German, as does my husband, so all worked out. She made a lovely breakfast and the best coffee. The room was mostly fine, not luxurious but comfortable. Good mattress. Easy walk to old walled city.

I had been told ahead of time that there were 3 free parking lots available nearby, but they weren’t easy to find. Suggest that the property have a map to give to customers with cars.

Funky in the best sense; like a proper B and B (only four rooms) and run by the owner and his mum who lives on-site. Cute roof top terrace ( complete with kettle for tea and a coffee maker)with a view of carcassonne. It is not big and fancy but it has charm and character; the bed was comfy; there's a bathroom en suite, and the owner's mother who runs it is very friendly, and the location is excellent. Breakfast also included. Really good value.

Parking was hard as the road was being torn up, but a minor inconvenience.
