Hotel Espace Cite

This is the second time I’ve stayed at this hotel . Last stayed 7yrs ago . The hotel is superbly placed a short walk to la Cité and and easy walk to la bastide. The hotel is exceptionally clean and the rooms although quite small were perfect and a beautiful compact shower room . All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Highly recommend

Parking is a little tight but did manage to get free parking both on arrival and after being out for the day . There is paid underground parking if you wish to reserve

nice modern hotel, breakfast included with veranda with views of the castle. Parking for the motorbike with option for paid underground parking. Great location, very short walk to castle

small double bed that you couldn't sit up in bed due to sticking out lights. the bathroom had the wall facing the room in full frosted glass, not very private, sliding door to bathroom and shower not enclosed in the bathroom so surrounding areas got quite wet. Towels stayed damp and the room felt damp after a shower and on return to the room.

Location was very close to the walled city. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable and the air conditioning was a big plus. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was secure parking . We would definitely stay here again.

Our room was tiny and right by the outdoor car park. The sun was streaming into our room so the curtains had to be closed the whole time in order to keep the room cool and this made it very dark so lights had to be put on which was not ideal. There is no way of getting to and from the car park other than walking around the building.

Espace Cite is a great choice for a traveller on a budget. It's in a peaceful location close to the medieval city and the Centre Ville and everything is within a few minutes walk. 20 minutes to the railway station and Canal du Midi. Staff are professional and friendly, very kind when I had an accident, ending up in hospital, making my stay longer than expected. Breakfast isn't cheap but there's plenty of choice and the food is tasty. There is car parking but I would imagine the spaces would go quickly when the hotel is busier in high season.

WiFi can be variable - strongest in reception and the breakfast room and the login process is fiddly. The rooms are on the small side - perfect for one person with little luggage but some couples may find moving around a bit of a squeeze.

Clean, comfortable, convenient hotel. Room with a view towards the medieval city. Free Parking on site. Less than 5 minutes walk to the medieval city. Close to several restaurants on Rue Trivalle Polite friendly staff. Staff on Reception went above and beyond - coffee machine in the foyer (late evening) ran out of milk and without hesitation the breakfast room was opened up and 2 mugs of coffee provided at no extra charge.

Found the en suite shower (styled as a wet room) a little awkward to use without water from shower spraying the toilet.

The location of this hotel is great, right next to the citadel. We had 2 rooms for 2 people for our family of 4. The rooms were conveniently booked opposite each other for comfort. The hotel was comfortable and the staff very friendly. The continental breakfast was nice, with excellent service.

The beds were a bit hard. When you're with 2 people, you have to leave the light off in the bathroom at night (glass wall).

Hotel is very close to the medieval castle/town known as "La Cite" which is the main tourist attraction in Carcassonne. Room was relatively spacious and easy to keep cool in the heat of the day. Hotel is small so I saw no evidence of an elevator. Breakfast buffet had plentiful food in a light and airy setting. Restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating is about a minute uphill from the hotel

Hotel was a bit of a walk (25-30 minutes) from the train station. Other than that, I experienced nothing that would deter me from staying there again.

Love the friendliness of the staff and how accommodating they were. They lent us a charger, helped us to book a tour of the castle, etc. The breakfast was also good variety and delicious. Better pillows would have made the stay superb but this is the typical hotel that outside might look dirty and uncertain of your booking but inside is amazing and welcoming.

The outside of the building was dirty so it made us questioned our choice of hotel. It could really benefit from a new lick of paint and more welcoming outside area.

The location for the mediaeval city was excellent; we had a view from the room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really good with plenty of choices, including gluten free. The air conditioning was reliable.

The hotel doesn't have a lift, but luckily we were only one flight of stairs up. Any higher and at our age we might have struggled. The rooms are small and you have to be quite organised to get the most out of them. We would have liked a double bed rather than twins.

Location is superb. Just below the castle walls so an easy walk into the medieval cité. The staff couldn't be more helpful or friendly and also made our dog very welcome. They have limited parking in their car park which is out of sight and not a problem in March but also secure underground parking if preferred. The room is on the small side but not a problem for an overnight stay and we had a fabulous view direct to the cité
