Le Clos Sainte-Marguerite - Chez les Fatien0

Le Clos de Sainte-Marguerite was an incredibly beautiful property. The historical aspect of the property made it a place to stay with double value.....the room was elegant, spacious and very comfortable, and we felt like we were staying in a French museum, without going to a museum! Many of the paintings, decorations, sconces, etc. go back hundreds of years. The rooms surround a beautiful courtyard; one morning we were served breakfast there. The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. The towels were the plushest towels we've ever experienced in a B & B or Inn. Arnaud and Estelle were lovely hosts...friendly, warm, helpful, and very accessible. They both made us feel so at home and pampered!

Not a thing

Beautiful property in a perfect location. Our room was very large, spotless, quiet and had an extremely comfortable bed, as well as excellent AC. Breakfast selection was relatively small (there are only a few rooms) but high quality and the 24hr honor bar/coffee station was a great touch. Private parking was just down the street.

Only a few details to improve: - There were theoretically 2 bikes available for guests, but one of them was broken - Add some international TV channels - Put lighting in the closets (they were in a dim part of the room)

We really liked everything during our stay, from the very spacious and tastefully furnished room to the deluxe bathroom, the warm, energetic and knowledgeable host, the varied breaktfast choices, and the excellent location in the heart of Beaune. We also appreciated the parking at a nearby restaurant, just 3 minutes away. We want to emphasize that Arnaud (the host) went out of his way to give us good advice and assist us, including also by lining up good restaurants for us on a busy weekend. Very commendable!

Everything was perfect.

V nice place and lovely ambience. Historic but all the modern comforts. Location great as quiet but just a short stroll from the the town centre. Breakfast was simple but nice. It was only available from 8:30 which was not so good for us as we were driving to the mountains for skiing. If we had been able to leave earlier we would have missed some of the traffic. Our host was v helpful re parking but a bit stretched as had to everything else too.

Overall it was very nice and I would return. My wife found the shower/bath controls in our specific room confusing as still had “C” and “F” on despite one being for the shower and one for the bath. That said the room was spacious and the bathroom was very good too.

The hotel, or rather B&B, is perfectly located in the center. No problem with access and parking located 2 minutes away. Very nice host. But the most important thing is the location: a fantastic charming hotel with several rooms located around a courtyard. Pets and small children are not allowed, which means that you can always count on silence and relaxation. The room is decorated with beautiful antiques, the bathroom is the opposite: large and modern with all amenities. The floor was tiled, but heated, so it was very warm. The bed were really very comfortable. Lots of choice for breakfast. The reception and breakfast room can be used 24 hours a day, so we could have a few cups of tea after dinner late at night:) The hotel is not cheap but really worth the money.

The location was excellent, just a few minutes walk from the centre. The accommodation was very private and the attention to detail from our host, Arnaud was exceptional and very thoughtful. We stayed for 4 days so Arnaud changed some items of our breakfast daily so we didn't have the same items every morning. The rooms were very well appointed. You had a real feeling of being in Burgundy. The bed and cushions also very comfortable and big for European standards. We will definitely be returning here.

Our stay at Chez Les Fatien was wonderful. The room was on 2 levels and the period furnishings made us feel like we were in a castle. Bed was extremely comfortable. We were greeted by Arnaud who was very attentive and made sure all our needs were met. We arrived on a Saturday and Arnaud quickly got to work finding us a restaurant for Sunday evening because it was a holiday weekend. The breakfasts were plentiful and delicious. We also met Laura (on Arnaud's day off) and she was lovely and spent a lot of time chatting with us. The hotel is very well situated as it's a quick walk into the old part of town with all the shops, restaurants and sights. This hotel exceeded our expectations for sure and I would go back in a heartbeat.

Chez les Fatien is a very cosy and romantic place. During the night it is quiet and sleeping in the very good beds is refreshing. The people who are operating it are very friendly and supportive. They gave us many valuable hints what to do in Beaune and were very helpful, with finding good restaurants, which they even booked for us. Any location in the town can be easily reached by a 10 minutes walk from there.

Our last hotel on the way home certainly didn't disappoint! Owner was exceptional, emailing us regularly before we arrived checking on progress and if we had booked dinner anywhere - the town was v busy, and he manged to get us in somewhere at sort notice. Hotel doesn't make a big show of itself, so you have to look for the small sign on the wall Room 5 is split level, bedroom upstairs, lounge and bathroom down stairs. Massive room, and a wonderfully comfortable bed. Shower is v nearly the best we have ever had!

Beautiful property in a fantastic central location and excellent service. The room was well appointed and there were additional communal facilities available for making tea/coffee etc. We had a very comfortable stay and would return

Just one very small niggle was that we felt under pressure to meet a specific check in window which was tricky given we were travelling from far away. However, they did make every effort to accommodate this for us.
