Scandic The Mayor

The location was great, really close to everything. The personnel was really kind and the option of leaving our luggage before check-in and after check-out was really useful for us. It was nice that you could have at our disposal all the time water with lemon just in the lobby. You could also rent bicycles from the hotel, or umbrellas, so in terms of facilities I would say it was really great.

The breakfast had the same things all the days that we stayed in, nothing changed, not even the fruits. There were not so many options for vegan people, also the vegetables were not that many. And some of the ingredients, the vegan cheese I think was not so fresh, maybe not that many people requested it.

We have stayed at The Mayor before, usually staying twice during the summer. It is close to the railway station, central and has a friendly Danish atmosphere.

In past years I have looked forward to the Mayor´s breakfasts which have been varied, good and plentiful. On our present visit we experienced a complete change in what was on offer, I imagine because of some trend or policy, which I confess I did not investigate. To be honest we much preferred the breakfasts of former years.

Loved the location and the views from the large windows out over Aarhus' streets. The lobby was very nicely decorated and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was cozy and worth the cost.

The bathroom had an odd smell but it wasn't a dealbreaker. The shower did not have a light and instead relied on the light from a frosted window, however I arrived at night so that was not ideal. The proximity to the train station did bring with it some noise but nothing absurd.

Room was small but sufficient. Bathroom was relatively spacious with a nice shower. Breakfast was good, with enough variety for two or three days. Wifi was free, but signal wasn't very good all the time (maybe because I was on the top floor). Private parking is available but not free (approximately 20 euro's per day, which is apparently cheaper than in the surrounding area). Friendly employees.

Nothing really. I mean, the room could have been bigger and more luxurious and after a few days the breakfast could have used something new, but for a business trip of a few days this was perfect.

The hotel is located in a very center of the city, 5 minutes on foot from the train station. Very close to the ARoS museum and Musikhuset. Room not very big, small bathroom. Windows to the inner courtyard, so in the room quiet. Electric kettle in the room. Breakfast varied and tasty. In the lobby drinking water for free and coffee machine - paid.

Ordered a room with two single beds - there were two beds joined.

it was the tiniest bathroom I’ve ever seen and I’m quite small! the pillow felt lumpy and the bed was a bit hard. it was strange that they chose to leave a very small amount of toilet paper in the roll in the bathroom. made it feel like we were taking over after others and it’s not very nice. staff wasn’t very friendly. not even a smile.

The parking is at a daily special fee for the hotel guests but what they didn’t explain us well was that the parking was expiring at 12 of the checkout day no matter what time the parking was started the day before: since we checked in quite late it would have been cheaper for us to pay by the hour rather than pay the hotel’s daily special fee

Very friendly and helpful staff! As I was travelling by bike, a very good solution was found to ensure, I could store it safely over night (even thought outside of the box). The breakfast was heavenly! I have stayed in a lot of hotels of 1-5 stars and have had a lot of good hotel breakfasts in my life, but this one is my no. 1 in Europe, so far and in the top 3 in the world. Thank you!

The accommodation is fantastically located in the heart of Aarhus. Parking is available onsite, and if full, can be found near the Rådhus (1-minute walk) for cheaper. The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had with a broad spread to cater for all. I will be staying here again the next time I come to Aarhus. For those who enjoy a variety of well-priced food, Aarhus street food is only 6 minutes walk away and worth a visit.

Given the warm summer evenings, we needed both the fan and the windows open for a comfortable room temperature. Expect the usual street/party noise if the window is open. A pair of earplugs would be a great thing to have if you are a light sleeper.

The hotel is very clean, almost minimalistic in the typical Scandinavian way.

The breakfast could have offered a bit more veggies, in addition to just cherry tomatoes. The room wifi's password was provided via a QR code that took you to an info page in the internet. In other words, you needed internet in your mobile phone in order to get the access to the internet.
