Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Ottawa West-Nepean, an IHG Hotel

Overall it was a hood experience but not excellent.

First l had asked and was assured we would have a microwave in the room to find out on arrival we did not. Second people should have more value than property. I had advised the staff that my child had a minor throw up in the pool. They said they were taking caring of it but no one bothered or cared less about asking how my son was. This left a bad taste in my mouth. However the times we live in, a not surprising but disappointing experience nonetheless. It is simply for that reason l most likely will not return to this hotel. It is little gestures that make all the difference.

The beds and linen were comfortable, and breakfast was good. It was quiet had a good night's sleep. Morning staff was helpful when I had forgotten a couple of things in room after handing in key cards.

Really didn't like room door locks had to try several time to get it to open.. Front desk seemed a little stressed when checking in.. Breakfast attendants seemed to have some difficulties keeping breakfast items stocked.m

Nice quiet area. Travelling home from a family reunion. This hotel was ideal because we did not have to drive through the city in the morning.

We booked the suite because our son was with us. We had a king size bed and a sofa bed. Our son slept on the sofa bed which unfortunately was very uncomfortable. The hotel should invest in better sofa beds or replace the sofa mattresses if possible.

Room was larger than expected (were booked into an accessible room). Had lots of storage (dresser drawers) for three people. WIFI was reasonable. Very quiet (was not aware until breakfast the next day that several young hockey families were also staying the night). Well furnished and very comfortable.

Breakfast room filled up quickly and no trays were available if you wanted to take breakfast to your room instead.

Despite being a big chain hotel, staying here feels like staying with your cousins. The staff were super attentive and helpful. Breakfast was rich and tasty. The facilities are great, maintained and clean. Using the gym was always fun. The area which the hotel is in, Bell's Corner, is full with restaurants and takeaway choices. Great experience, super recommended.

Nice place not far from the parliament and Highways, very close to multiple restaurants. The suite was as expected and good enough for 2 adults, 2 kids and 1 baby. Room and beddings are very clean. Vehicles parking is free also.

I travelled with 3 kids and the breakfast wasn't as expected. Only 1 choice between coffee and juice. Eggs sandwich cold. Kids can have only juice. No hot chocolate as it's the favorite kid's drink. I understand that it's a pendemic but they could adjust for better. (fortunately there is a Tim Hortons at few steps outside the Hotel) . I didn't see sanitizers around the public places such as elevators.

breakfast was great reminded me of pre 2020 breakfast days. It was nice not to be given a paper bag breakfast.

Did not realize it was a pet friendly hotel as well (husband book hotel). There were no issues. Just initial surprise not something I had noticed at other locations. But we can tell friends with pets about your hotel.

the service was excellent. we asked for more towels and they were delivered in seconds. everyone was very nice and accommodating.

the breakfast - it was TERRIBLE. I don't know why you just can't use paper plates and serve warm food. We don't use microwaves (because they're not good for our health) and so we had yoghurt and fruit. Certainly expected more on that front. While COVID is a concern and I know people are afraid, the more we perpetuate the FEAR the longer it will take to get over this mess. PLEASE consider (if not a buffet where people can get their own food) that YOU serve people and set it up more like a cafeteria. Honestly, it was a really bad breakfast experience.

Breakfast was excellent

Standing outside in the freezing cold during that fire alarm tuesday night, wasn't told we could go in by staff until the end , my mother of 70 was freezing out there, no staff perimeter check during, or we would have been in the warmth of the lobby with everyone else

The Beds are very comfy

I have suggestion for serving breakfast easier. As I found egg station serving dishes lid does not stay open by itself. Guests need to take the plate by one hand and keep the lid open and also take the food by the other hand which is make it hard for almost everyone.
