Alt Hotel Halifax Airport

Wherever we travel, we always aim to stay in a hotel very close to the airport for the night before our flight (less stress). The Alt hotel is joined by a walkway to the Halifax Stanfield Airport. We found the hotel to be very modern, clean, with a comfortable bed. We had a room on the 10th floor with a great view of the runway. The restaurant has a fairly limited menu, but the food and cocktails were great. The staff in the restaurant were really friendly and happy, the service was excellent. The swimming pool is small, but really clean. I recommend this hotel.

Fairly limited restaurant menu. This hotel was a bit expensive compared with other hotels we stayed in during our vacation to Nova Scotia and PEI.

Access to the airport was excellent. The dining choices were adequate (pizza, sandwiches, airport food). We were staying at Alt as we had an early flight the ext day. Room was comfortable and modern. Cons-Not enough room to park car to drop off luggage and check in prior to returning rental. QR code for information in a funky place and I could not get it to work-no other way to obtain hotel info. The location could not be beat. While pricier than I would have liked-isn't everything?-the room, convenience to airport, and overall hotel was worth the extra $$$

The fact that the hotel and the airport were connected without having to walk outside was a huge selling point. Our two parties were meeting up here flying in from east and west coasts of US. One party ended up with flight delays not arriving till the early morning hours. We were so glad we had booked the 1st and last nights of our vacation here! Also appreciated the rental car services were actually right there, as well. Everything you need is really right there compacted nicely. There is also a gas station right before you get to the airport if you need to fill up your rental car.

I didn’t know there was breakfast- but that’s ok. It was a very nice room and really lovely staff. The pool was tiny but even that is ok — I really really disliked the fact that cars can park and watch you swim with their headlights blaring into the pool area. Or that anyone can just sit outside the pool area and watch the pool. I felt so on display and it really trashed my ability to relax in a pool which was a desperate moment I needed something soothing like a swim after a traumatic event the day before. Please find a way to offer your pool patrons some privacy and respite — cars or people staring at you from the other side of glass feels like you’re on display in a zoo. There’s a way to allow natural light from the panels above whilst offering pool users some privacy/sanctuary.

The hotel is a great location to the halifax airport. Good bar/restaurant on site. The staff at the front desk are friendly. When I checked in, the hotel was having significant issues with the card key entry. I had to go to the front desk on many occasions for someone to let me into my room with the master key. At one point, I told a front desk staff that I’m going for a drink at the bar and once I go back to the room I won’t go out (so I could be let in). You would think with the issue of the key card/, the staff should be empowered to comp at least a drink or something at the restaurant due to the inconvenience. Nothing was offered.

The location is the main selling point for us, as we had a 06:30 departure. The room was quiet and well-designed and we had a good view of the airport runway to watch planes taking off and landing.

The paintwork is getting a little worn, and the surface of the alcove where the Nespresso machine is located is cracking and not very attractive. The mini-fridge was unplugged when we arrived and thus not cool for storing our perishable items. There was a little bit of sticker-shock too. The price was significantly more than we paid last year at the Alt YHZ

The key card system to activate the elevator and the room lights could have been more clearly explained, as we had never experienced either system before. We actually had to call the desk on our cell phone to learn how to activate the lights in our totally dark room. A printed guide to the hotel's amenities such as the cocktail bar and café would have been appreciated. Not everyone is computer/cellphone savvy. Having said all of that, once we were informed of how to use everything, we appreciated the security features.

We stayed here when we arrived from Portland, Oregon....after traveling all day long! Being able to get our bags and just roll everything right into the lobby from the baggage claim - I mean, who sweet is that? What a relief to finish a long day of dealing with standing, sitting, and hurrying along down long halls - and "poof" you're at the hotel. What a marvelous luxury! And their lobby has a 24-hour facility to eat/drink a great variety of offerings. And our room was SO quiet even though it was in sight of the main runway! Great staff - knowledgeable, friendly, welcoming.

we stayed to catch a 5am flight. The proximity to the airport from the lobby was about 2 min!! It was a blessing and we got to sleep until the last minute.

The only thing that was disappointing and it’s not really a complaint is…when you scan the QR code about the hotel found in the room it gives directions to set up chrome cast from your personal device but when we had trouble they said they didn’t have chrome cast. Like I said no big deal, just don’t advertise it if you don’t have it!

This Hotel is in a great location for an early morning flight. Easy drop off for your rental car and access to the hotel. The room was very clean and bed very comfortable. They had a skyway walk over to the airport. Many luggage carts available to transport luggage to the airport. We also had time to use the gym and pool. They where both kept clean and modern equipment in the gym. Staff where all friendly and helpful. Also they had a great bar and sitting areas in the main lobby area.

They didn't have any restaurant food. Just grab and go...sandwiches and they did have some food that you could heat up in microwaves that are available on site. We where told that they are putting in a pizza oven and they are working on getting the food thing going. So that will be a great for the facility.
