9Hotel Sablon

We travelled to Brussels as a family of 4 (2 adults + 2 kids: 18 & 10) for the sightseeing and visiting museums We choose to stayed 4 nights at the 9 Hotel Sablon (booked 2 separate rooms)based on the reviews on booking.com and because its strategic location. Despite of being centrally located, it is a quite place. Clean rooms and common areas, wonderful staff (we had Martina at the check in and she did her best to address all our requests), good breakfast and as a bonus - swimming pool (filled with warm water) and a sauna. Something I would never expect in the hotel of this type. Overall: great experience.

Staff were amazing, so friendly and made check in such a nice experience. Hotel offered free hot drinks (to help yourself to) 24/7- a coffee/ hot chocolate was a lovely way to start the day. The hotel lobby is gorgeous. Hotel is in a lovely, quiet areas with great chocolate shops, only about 10 minute walk to the main square. Our favourite part of the hotel was the pool, it was only small but we had this to ourselves one evening and it was lovely after a day of sight seeing (just wish the sauna was open!) The room was nice and comfortable, with a fridge and pod coffee machine for a morning espresso.

Very small points but there could be a few tweaks to the rooms to make them the same quality as the rest of the hotel (e.g. lobby) - update the flooring etc. Quite an expensive hotel to stay in, so a little welcome drink or something on arrival would be a nice touch.

we thought it was a lovely hotel and the staff were amazing - so friendly and couldn’t do enough to help and so polite and helpful. they ordered us tacos, recommended restaurants, served drinks etc etc. Nothing was too much trouble. The lounge area is great to sit in and have a drink (free tea and coffee and hot chocolate and pastries, and wine and beer etc available and could put on room bill. swimming pool area was nice and very relaxing. rives and towels freely available too. The breakfast was really great - lovely fresh food, great variety and even a waffle machine and batter provided so you could make your own waffles! All very modern and comfortable too.

it was located a short way from the central station and centre but not easily accessible for my mum on her mobility scooter- the shortcut involved a huge set of concrete steps and the long way round involved a slopes cobbled street with mini steps too. Not the hotels fault of course but it was a bit of a struggle for us each day. The whole of Brussels is really not wheelchair friendly- most shops have a few steps at entrance and most of the streets have lots and lots of uneven paving blocks or cobbles. And not many lowered kerbs either.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. There was someone to welcome you at the front desk at any time. The spa facilities are nice (a Finnish sauna and a heated pool with massage jets). The location is very good, 10 min walk from the Grand place and 5 min walk from the Square Brussels. The bed was comfortable.

You have to ask for a bathrobe and slippers for the spa and the iron facilities are shared. But, again, the lady at the front desk was so helpful and charming that she made me quickly forget about that.

The room was very nice, desk area rather cramped, but plenty of space in bathroom and walk in shower. Queen bed was a plus also. Complementary waters in the room was a nice and unexpected - would be better to have screw on caps vs "squirt" bottles. Staff was extremely helpful about where to eat, and where to get COVID test. The staff member printed COVID test results for us. Breakfast was very nice with plenty of options for food, breads and juices. I prefer my eggs a little more done, but what was provided was still very good. Location was a close walk to Central train/metro station, even with luggage. The location was so good, we used no public transportation, cabs or ubers other than the train to/from the airport and a day trip by train to Bruges.

The room took a while to cool and the comforter on the bed is rather thick. The room needed to be very cool so as not to get too hot under the cover, or rather warm so the cover wasn't needed. The shower did not drain well with the first use, but the staff took care of that right away.

in weekend, after 10:00, there were very few thing still available at the breakfast, although the program was until11:00. no scrambled eggs, no gaufres, no cold cuts, no vegetables. i asked for some gaufres, as i was with my three kids, and i was told that they were finished. how dissapointing...

the fact that in order to enjoy the full breakfast you should be an early bird. if you arrive in the last hour of service a lot of things are already finished

Good smooth check in, informative and helpful Staff, even gave us a city map and circled places of interest. The hotel is in a great location very near to everything.

The towels were not changed daily, the first morning after showering there was water over the floor so I put our wet towels down to soak it up. When we came back that evening all that was changed was the bath mat, the other wet towels were hung up on the rail and NOT changed, I knew this as they were not folded and i had make-up on one of them, this despite a typed sign in the bathroom telling you to leave towels on the floor if you want them changing, for 4* hotel I find that unacceptable. The rest of the room was cleaned everyday so a shame this one thing let them down.

We stayed on the fourth floor which was private and clean- simple and stylish decor with comfortable bedding, and the bathroom especially very clean and well kept. Friendly staff welcomed us, and the room features a safe, Nespresso machine and hairdryer etc. Exceptional location in the city centre in a quiet museum street. Useful to have an elevator too! The hotel has a pool and sauna.

Some of the details in the room weren't great- loose plug sockets, a chair that squeaked, but generally it was great. One Nespresso capsule per guest wasn't enough, 2 minimum would be expected - although nice that we could get another coffee from the reception.

The staff were fantastic and a real credit to the hotel. The rooms were exactly as advertised. We opted to include the breakfast option, and I was so happy we did. The selection was fantastic catering for all. My wife informed me I would be going on a diet once we were home. Location was great with a 5 min walk from central station.

Unfortunately, on our arrival, we were told the spa facilities would not be working for the duration of our stay, which was one of my main reasons for selecting this hotel.
