Nightcap at Hendon Hotel

As Americans, we were unfamiliar with the concept of a hotel/bar/gaming facility, but learned it’s a typical Australian thing. The staff all treated us so nicely with lots of “extras” to enhance our stay. Tickets for free drinks at the bar meant we experienced the lively and friendly neighborhood bar crowd while watching Australian Footy on TV. Fun! Free boxed breakfasts were offered too. Our room was clean, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. The hot water pot and fridge with milk and tea bags, plus little bags of sweets were nice. There was a coin-operated washer and dryer which we were grateful to use, and they provided the washing powder. When we checked out, the sweet gals sent us off with a delicious hot chai tea latte “to-go”. We can’t say enough nice things about the friendly hospitality!!

No elevator for upstairs room. (No big deal for us, but good to know in case it’s difficult for someone.) The shower and toilet were in a very tiny area. Honestly, those are two very small things, and overall, the place exceeded our expectations, was a good value, and we thoroughly enjoyed all the staff who took such great care of us.

This little accomodation gem was like an oasis! The room I had was INCREDIBLY clean and comfortable. Staff were amazing and really looked after me. I didnt have any noise and was there on a Sat night. Would definitely recommend if you are staying for a night or 2 for a sporting event or business travel.

Unfortunately the kitchen was closed I think due to Covid so I couldn't eat here at all! Really disappointing as I was there for a sporting event, a female solo traveller and in the middle of a food wasteland!!! The manager however was so kind and apologetic after hearing I'd not been told about the kitchen on booking, that a voucher was supplied to use at their sister hotel bistro for dinner and drinks down the road. Such a thoughtful gesture of which I was very grateful.

Property and facilities were very accommodating; the staff helpful with happy hour specials and warm with all our requests and needs. Rooms were minimal but cosy and sufficient (including teeny tiny adorable kettle) Loved the mattress. Excellent shower pressure!

A balcony would have been handy. The fact the kitchen was closed was a bummer but the staff were happy to help with other meal options. Didnt enjoy not winning the jackpot but means we will be back! Pillows were uncomfortable though as one was too hard and one was too soft.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Lunch was great and good value. Our room was ready a little earlier than expected which was handy and it was comfy and clean. Stay included a free drink and a discount code for meals downstairs which was a great bonus.

No complaints.

Facilities were great! Staff are so accommodating, welcoming and friendly! LOVE that there is a decent size milk provided in the rooms! Beds were comfy, we were provided with everything we needed for our stay.

The staff were fantastic very friendly and helpful could not fault them.

Some of the guests were inconsiderate making a lot of noise into the early hours in the morning . When we told the staff they were great and dealt with it promptly.

clean room, friendly staff, complimentary drinks vouchers and best of all the air conditioning was on when we arrived late on a hot afternoon. also complimentary breakfast pack.

it is a bit out of the way but not really a problem with Adelaide traffic.

We had an issue with one of our rooms and we brought it to the attention of the staff- the issue was fix within 5 minutes and a full refund was given. The staff were extremely lovely, friendly, down to earth and made us feel very welcomed. I would definitely stay at the Nightcap at Hendon again.

Very clean bedroom, comfortable bed, shower had good pressure… exceeded my expectations for the price. For sure I will book again when coming to Adelaide.

easy access to the pub downstairs, friendly locals, nice staff who helped out when needed.

the pub does not have a running kitchen so no food was served. had to go elsewhere to get a feed
