Benson Court Motel

The rooms were spacious and the bedding was comfortable. We had a small lounge and a dining table also. I really enjoyed the outlook onto the private courtyard. We had a hire car, so the location suited us as a base, and it was only a short stroll to the shops for groceries and a few dining options.

It would have been handy to have some basic crockery and cutlery. Just a bowl, knife, fork spoon would have been useful as the room is set up for a basic level of self-catering (fridge, microwave, dining table) It was great that the rooms were serviced daily however as we were holidaying, we weren't prepared for the pre-9am housekeeping! So we opted to pass on this service for two of our three mornings.

The room was basic, but clean and had everything that I needed for my one night stay. Having a proper sink for washing up etc was good, though I did not need it on this occasion. The motel was handy to the city and the university, via public transport, so suited me well. Being close to Toowong Village meant it was easy to get to the local pub, restaurants and cafés, as well as a train and bus stops.

The door lock was not what you'd expect in a hotel these days and was rather flimsy. There was no heavier bar latch or chain to compensate. A solo female guest might feel a bit nervous. With a rail line at the back and main road at the front, I was worried about noise when I got there, but neither bothered me and I slept well.

The staff at the Benson Court Motel make all the difference - they're friendly, helpful, and accommodating. It's run by a lovely young couple who clearly knew the local area well and could help us with directions and public transport etc. They were just delightful. The motel's location is easily walkable from Toowong Village (small shopping mall), the local train station, bus stop, and ferry/ river cat stop, as well as a plethora of restaurants, cafes, and pubs. It's also accessible via a short bus ride or 5 minute car journey to the University of Queensland, and bus ride or 10 minute car journey to Indooroopilly Shopping Centre (massive mall). The motel's wifi was reliable and fast.

I have stayed at the Benson Court a few times over the last few years. It is very convenient to the University of Queensland and to downtown Brisbane with bus, train and ferry connections close by. It has always been clean and functional. My room this time had clearly been refurbished and was very nice.

While the location is great it also means that it is a little noisy, particularly with a train line close by. Reception closes at 6pm but this isn't a problem as they will arrange to make your room keys available to you after hours.

The motel is just a few steps away from the Toowong village and the bus stop to the CBD is right beside the motel. The studio is equipped with nearly everything and it feels like home.

The free wifi and the data signal for my phone is slow and weak. And since the room is right beside the road, the noise from the cars outside could constantly annoying you. After 2 a.m., when the city is asleep, you then can finally fall asleep. And the room is dark from the bed. But the bathroom is quite bright during the day. This is just my personal preference. I like sunshine on my bed.:)

Small motel in the Toowong district. Just 400 metres from shops/restaurants, and similar distance to rail station and bus stops. Room was comfortable and very well equipped. Car parking was easy with some under cover spaces - even enough room for an RV (not undercover!). Staff were brilliant, friendly and very helpful. There is a laundry room on site, just $3 a wash, including powder. No hesitation in recommending.

Very clean - all the amenities like the shower, toilet, kitchen and air conditioning worked perfectly with no issues. I also lost a couple of items and they found them for me after I checked out, and called me immediately to organise collection of them. Very appreciative.

I wish you could chrome cast from your phone to the TV to be able to watch streaming apps on the TV instead of the normal basic channels.

We were given a ground floor room ( we’re in our seventies) and it was roomy and quiet and had everything we needed. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. We were able to do some laundry.

One small thing - we believed the doors would be closed at 8 o’clock (we had a key for entry) but we arrived back after that time on a couple of nights and the exterior door was still open. We weren’t sure that it was actually closed during the night.

The staff are fabulous - friendly, helpful, and kind. The room is quite large and equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. The wifi is constant and strong. And the location is excellent - very easily walkable to Toowong Village, train station, buses, the river cat, plenty of restaurants, cafes, and pubs. The University of Queensland is just a short bus ride away.

Excellent location for attending event at Suncorp. Walk across the road to shopping centre for a meal and also to Toowong station and train 5 minutes to Milton station. Easy check in. Room was good size with comfortable bed. Bathroom on the small size but okay. Good shower. Free undercover car parking out the back.

Room at front of motel had some noise from traffic in the morning. Not a problem though. Would not deter me from staying again.
