Oakwood Residence Hanoi

Prior to arrival, my emailed questions to the property were responded promptly. Upon arrival, check in was a breeze. We (5 travelers) booked a one bedroom and a two bedroom and because we were travelling with elderly, I requested and was given both rooms on the same floor. Rooms are spacious, clean, and the balconies are a nice touch. Washer and dryer are tucked away in the balcony (note 2 small bags of washing powder are provided). The breakfast is very very good, slight variation each day but quality and variety surpasses. We ordered room service for lunch as it was storming one day and again, the food quality, presentation, taste were all very good. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Front desk speaks and understands English better. Location is good for me. Even though this is not in or near the old quarters, I appreciated the peace and tranquility that comes with where the property is located and more importantly, I have had zero issues getting Grab to and fro (highly recommend Grab, have hotel staff confirm the address of your destination, key "Oakwood Residence Hanoi" as pick up and/or destination and it will appear). Check out was yet a breeze and I chose the property's car transfer this time vs a commercial one that I had booked online upon arrival, and the ride was more stress free, comfortable.

All good. My elderly parents are still talking about the property vs the places they visited.

First time stay at this property - very nice / high end facility. I like staying near West Lake which is a lot less crazy than the main tourist area of Hoan Kiem / old quarter and much closer to the airport Still, plenty of restaurant options and a morning walk around the lake (about 15+ km or so) is always a nice way to start the day. Very nice morning breakfast buffet.

It must be the best hotel in Westlake district. Very clean and modern, the staff speaks very good English, everyone is very helpful. The room is modern and the bed is so comfortable! The bathroom is nice and has everything you may need. Breakfasts were tasty and slightly changed every day. There are plenty of bars and restaurants close to the hotel. It was my 3rd visit and I will come back again.

Too much light pollution in the studio rooms, everything is shining: phone, wi-fi router, aircon control, oven... Apartments are OK. A coffeemaker in the breakfast room was often out of service due to lack of maintenance. However, those are minor cons. Otherwise it is perfect.

A 5* hotel as it should be: beautiful, clean and well equipped room and all the premises. Tasty breakfasts which were slightly changed every day. Staff was extremely friendly and all of them speak very very good English, which is not usual in Vietnam. Great roof top swimming pool, big gym, nice garden around the hotel. I have tried many hotels at this district - Oakwood is the best value for money and I will definitely stay again. I loved it!

Hard to find any cons. Maybe just little ones: the access road is narrow and hidden, drivers have problems finding it. And at breakfast there are no ingredients to make famous ca phe nau da - this made me sad :)

Great Hotel with very spacious rooms (I booked a 2-bedroom apartment), very clean and well maintained, great breakfast. There were lots of food options around the hotel and if you order food delivery from restaurants nearby, you can typically get your food very quickly (just note, the delivery driver will wait outside the building). The hotel does have scheduled shuttle service to nearby malls (for residents) but due to the timing, you will probably have to take a cab back if you need more time

Roads leading into the hotel are very old, bumpy and sometimes very narrow (not the hotel's fault) but wanted to leave this comment so that everyone is aware.

Breakfast was not included in our booking, but due to having a kitchenette, we can cook food we like to eat. room is very spacious, I love the bathroom, all rooms have their own TV, kitchen tools and glassware are very amazing, I could not ask for more, complete of what we need. The room was wonderful, clean, and perfect to celebrate a birthday weekend.

the only thing I had trouble with is, that they don't have a phone book to call for the receptionist, or restaurant if we want to have room service. Another thing, some of my friends could not connect to the wifi, seems it had a limited connection required. we don't bother to ask, since we have our own data

I liked that there was an indoor pool, free bike hire and walking distance to a lot of random expat restaurants, bars and eateries.

Thought there was meant to be a rooftop bar, that didn’t exist. The rubbish in my kitchen bin wasn’t emptied for a couple days and was filled. the kids area was technically not allowed to short stay (we were there 4 nights) guest and only long term residents we didn’t know - lucky the staff gave us a free pass for my toddler for an hour.

I’m here for the BLACKPINK concert. I stayed at the Capella and Hyatt Regency before. This is the last night that I’m in Hanoi. But I have to say, this is the best place I stayed in Hanoi. It’s better than Capella and Hyatt. The room is so clean. The staffs are very nice. If I came Hanoi next time, I’ll definitely stay here again.

It’s a little bit far to the downtown. You have to get a taxi if you wanna go to downtown.

Big brilliantly designed rooms, loads of storage space; washing machine and a well equipped kitchen were very helpful. Large well equipped gym, lovely pool and very helpful staff. Loads of small bars and restaurants/cafes within a 15min walk.

Location was a little far out from centre and main sites of the city. Short, cheap taxi ride of 50-60min walk.

The Oakwood primarily caters to long-term residents, but they do have a hotel section. Overall, this is a great value. I especially loved the location: the hotel is within walking distance of multiple restaurants.

I would change the breakfast a little bit. It is a buffet, but you have to request eggs (unless you like boiled eggs, those are on the buffet). The coffee was lukewarm every day. But, the staff were great and I like the seating area.
