Elegant Suites Westlake

We absolutely loved our stay here. There are so many good things to say about this place that it's hard to know where to start. But I'll start with the staff, who stood out as absolutely exceptional. In particular the staff at reception and concierge went above and beyond several times, from helping to arrange great day trips to restaurant recommendations and bookings, and helping out when our son lost his mobile phone, when they helped with contacting the finder and arranging the pickup. The staff truly deserve praise for exceptional service. The hotel itself is very comfortable, with spacious and comfortable apartment-type rooms with excellent facilities. We found it very good value compared to similar properties in Hanoi. Our kids especially loved the swimming pool, which is pretty large and has excellent surroundings. The included breakfast was also very good. The food in the restaurant was also high quality and reasonably priced. The hotel has a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere, which can be very welcome after a day in the hectic chaos of the city center. Before arrival I was a little concerned about the location, and noticed that some reviewers had said that the location is a little strange. I disagree - we absolutely loved the local area around the hotel, which feels like a little village and has a great selection of restaurants, bars, convenience stores, supermarkets, etc. while being relatively quiet and peaceful by Hanoi standards. I'm glad we didn't stay in the Old Quarter, for example, which is fun to explore but is just too crazy for me to feel relaxed there. The Old Quarter is easily reachable by taxi from the hotel - about 20-25 minutes. Installing the Grab app on my phone enabled easy and cheap taxi pickup and return to and from the hotel. I would definitely choose this hotel again if I go back to Hanoi.

I really can't think of a single negative point! It's testament to a really great hotel that I have nothing to say here.

Friendly staff and a lovely spacious suite.

It's a pet peeve but I would like to see all hotels to provide the means to refill water bottles rather than supplying plastic bottles every day. Pollution in Vietnam is bad and these millions of bottles add to the problem.

Upon arriving at the hotel, we were warmly greeted by the front desk staff, who welcomed us with big smiles. They offered us a refreshing drink while waiting for check-in procedures. Afterward, the staff led us to our apartment and guided us about our accommodation. I was thoroughly impressed with the apartment's stylish interior and modern facilities. Notably, the master bedroom's toilet was equipped with a washlet, the popular Japanese toilet. However, it would have been even better if the other toilet had a washlet. Our stay was perfect, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Also, I would like to thank the lady service staff in the restaurant. We felt warm when she remembered, prepared, and brought the hot chocolate for our daughter. We are so sorry that we forgot to note down those staff who gave us excellent service and made our stay enjoyful.

The location. There were not many eateries surrounding the accommodation. The road leading to the shopping center was dusty and always in busy traffic.

We were there for 7 days. The night before we arrived we both came down with bad cases of flu while on our trip. We arrived not well and they immediately put us into our room. We had a suite w 2 bathrooms and a kitchen. If 2 people have to recover from the flu in a hotel there can be nothing better than this one. How difficult our recovery could have been if this excellent hotel and had.not been scheduled for this part of our trip. Room service was great. They offered meals to help those unwell.

Nothing

Super comfortable beds, spotlessly clean, choice of shower or bath, great leisure facilities and super helpful staff. The pool area is also well worth mentioning, a great size for lane swimmers or lazy splashers; there is a shallow baby pool too.

Note that the maid service was slightly early - although this did not impact us. If you are a travellers who prefers not to wake up early and to sleep-in then it might be worth mentioning this the the helpful front desk staff. Found the gym a bit too warm to do a serious workout. This is common in Hanoi though. In my view, the gym would be far better if air conditioning was turned on to get far better use from all the great equipment they have on offer.

Had a lovely stay here, room and hotel had all necessary amenities for reasonable price. The staff were nice and everything was spotless. The room was huge and the bed was very comfortable. The buffet breakfast offered a huge array of foods including an omelette/eggs to order bar.

I found the pool space is was not enjoyable and is very separate from the rest of the hotel (you have to walk through the gym and spa to get to the stairs to get to the pool). I found the location a bit too far from Hanoi’s sights, there is very little that can be walked to from the hotel- you would need to drive to get to Hanoi Old Quarter.

it’s a reasonably priced property in the Westlake area. approx 20 mins drive from the old quarter. lots of restaurants within walking distance. Staff were nice and helpful. Great gym, pool and kids playing area. Rooms have a kitchen (foods great and very affordable in Vietnam so don’t really need it) and laundry facilities, which might be good for travellers who are looking for longer stays.

Rooms were a little old and needs a bit of an uplift. unfortunately the room had a bath that was leaking water everywhere and made it a very wet bathroom

The room is not as beautiful as in the picture, smaller and darker.

Clean, spacious with great views and good hotel restaurant food (hamburgers not so good but experienced that a couple of times in Vietnam). Close to the city. Few shops within walking distance. Had a couple great meal at the steak restaurant about 5-10 mins walk up the road, food was fantastic. Friendly ‘Italian’ restaurant across the road, popular, vibrant and noisy!!

Pool on wrong side of hotel lol if you’re swimming in the afternoon! Although a lovely day, it was quite cool swimming in the shade of the hotel.
