21c Museum Hotel Louisville

*The server at breakfast was lacking we arrived at 9:10am got seated and the servers seemed to be setting up for lunch and didn’t come refill our coffee ask if we needed anything. I had to get out of my seat and find her to ask for my OJ and refill *Sitting in the bar the evening we arrived starving just as the dinner was over at 10:05pm Bar couldn’t serve food -no peanuts or popcorn. Little munchies at the bar table would be a nice touch -they do it in Europe and other high end hotels. Low buget but would nice a nice touch specially if you do have the facilities that don’t stay open

1) Both of us thought bed pillows thick and uncomfortable 2) The shower is an open design, so the water ends up on quite a bit of the bathroom floor, with one terrycloth bathmat (which gets soaked), making the floor slick and somewhat dangerous. 3) We were out most of the day and hoped to get our room refreshed by housekeeping while we were gone (the soaked bathmat replaced, some more water), which didn’t happen. Not sure why, as we saw them refreshing rooms around us.

the location was good.

the room did not have a mini fridge in it! I have never been to a hotel that didn’t have a mini fridge. also the room has one small window is the very left corner. the window was so close to the wall that the shades that cover the window had nowhere to go so the already small window was always at least 50 percent covered. it would have been nice to have sunlight in the room. the bed only had small flat pillows.

Stayed here over the weekend with my spouse on the recommendation of a friend. This is one of the most fun hotels I have stayed in! There is literally an art museum on the main floor, which was fun to explore. The accommodations were fantastic. Comfy bed, nice bathroom, great restaurant. I would totally stay here again. Plus the location to the few things to do downtown in the safer part of time is fantastic.

I only wished the bathroom had a tub, but I guess I could have asked about that.

This is the second 21c we’ve stayed at and it doesn’t disappoint. Marvelous concept, expertly and meticulously executed. Taking old properties to preserve and rebuild is risky yet in both locations (Kansas City the other) they’ve created masterpieces. Above all they’re comfortable and quiet, even in downtown settings. Highest recommendation.

The coffee maker contained no directions for where to put the water. There was no symbol on the coffee maker for it either. The directions on the coffee capsules included no indication of what to do about water. The only place I could see to try was in the back of the coffee maker and that did not work. So, no coffee in the room despite multiple attempts

This really is a unique hotel. The art was wonderful. The hotel staff were very nice and the room was comfortable. There is a parking lot next to the hotel that is just $9 for anything over 3 hours. For comparison, the hotel valet parking is $32 per day and they park in the same lot.

Although the room and bathroom were very nice and clean, the water pressure in the shower was really terrible. The hotel is within walking distance of several museums and points of interest. However, there are quite a lot of things closed on the weekend making food choices limited.

Check in was quick, staff was friendly and efficient. Room was spacious with a couple chairs and a bench by a round table. King bed was very comfortable. Best in room coffee maker I’ve encountered so far. Very impressed by the Nesspresso system. Brunch at the restaurant, Proof on Main was very good. Friendly service. Food was very good. Quirky art themed decor carried though from hotel.

Shower head was mounted so high my 5’ even wife couldn’t adjust the spray patterns. Sounds from hallway carried into room, but hard to control inconsiderate guests who don’t have an inside voice.

The staff were friendly, the location was central, the valet service was quick, the beds were comfy, the room was nice and quiet, we appreciated the coffee, pastries and fruit available in the morning, and we really enjoyed the museum exhibits. Our kids particularly liked the interactive exhibit by the elevators.

A pool might have been nice, but only because we happened to be there on a few really hot days! Valet parking is a little expensive but it was very convenient.

Parking was Not clear or available...you could valet your car for 32 dollars... but they were very accommodating when using your car through the stay
