The Inn was very pretty. Our room in the tower was newer and clean with a really pretty view. The bed was very comfortable.

The neighborhood seemed a little sketchy. I would have loved if the coffee bar was open, or if there was breakfast included or offered for purchase.

we had a lovely stay at the Santa Maria Inn. we have two dogs and the facility has a wonderful courtyard area with plenty of grass for the dogs. the staff was very friendly and helpful.

not sure why they had the hallway lobby bathrooms locked over by the bar and restaurant. I'm guess its because homeless people sneak in from time to time. but the restaurant was open, so patrons had to walk all the way back to their room if a restroom was needed. also though the food was a bit over priced. breakfast was basically what you would find in a holiday inn express (meal included in the room price). Here, you have to pay an extra $20.

We had an unexpected stay and had to book our stay the night before we got there. I did it through Booking.com. When we arrived at the property the booking was not showing up. Long story short - the first, very pleasant lady was training and her training had gone to lunch, so we had to wait maybe 15 minutes for her to return. The first lady, worked to the best of her ability to figure out what happened. Once the experienced lady got there, she said she used to work for booking.com and new how to fix the problem. She apologized profusely for our inconvenience and then upgraded us to a suite. She gave us directions on where to grab something quick to eat and was very helpful and pleasant throughout our stay.

This visit we were in the newer tower, previous visits we were given very old, outdated and small rooms. No breakfast options in the hotel but there is a Pantry restaurant across the street that offers a great selection of breakfast items and a good value. The hotel is a good place to stay for one night if you are heading in this direction.

The hotel is very large and old. There is a dinner restaurant and 2 bars which is probably more for the locals. Shaw's across the street is great for Santa Maria tri tip and other barbeque selections.

History of the hotel. I got to stay in the Clark Gable room. The hotel is full of history. The bartender in the bar was nice. Overall experience was nice. I do want to come back and stay in the Marilyn Monroe room.

The check in was not done smoothly. I had to wait to check in because for some reason my booking did not go through. Staff was a bit cold. The room was cold, and we could not turn on the heater. We asked for help from a young maintenance guy who helped us turn it on, but the heater made a very loud noise. He said that if it bothered us we could ask to change room. Eventually the noise went away. The room needs to be updated or at least a nice coat of paint.

Very clean, comfortable albeit very old attire inside the room. The historical hotel itself is very charming, large, and fun to walk through but the interior of the rooms/bathrooms really does need a major overhaul. Thanks for keeping everything tidy with helpful staff. We also had a very nice dinner onsite at the hotel restaurant.

The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. And it was quiet.

Upon getting our room key, we tried to enter our room; however the door lock was engaged and we could only open the door about 2 inches. Had to go to the front desk to get maintenance and waited a bit of time for them to arrive to let us in. It was obvious that it had happened before as the door had etched marks where they had to use the tool before.

The fireplace in the living room.

The first room they assigned us to was in the old part of the hotel and the room was way to small, about 160 square feet, was dark and danky with paint peeling off the door frames. Upon complaining we were upgraded to a 920 square foot suite in the new tower, which was very nice.

We last stayed here back in 1996 and the hotel has had a very noticeable refurbishment and is in excellent condition! Our room was perfect, very spacious and with a lovely comfortable King bed. The staff were so friendly and helpful, in fact we enjoyed so much that we extended our stay for one more night! We dined in the restaurant on our final night and the food was first class and service to match. Would highly recommend this hotel, amazing value for money!

The hotel overall was beautiful. Historic, vintage, and just an all-around experience to stay. Staff members are friendly, from the housekeeping to the front desk, to any employee you pass by, and you are greeted with a smile. My husband and I came for a family emergency, so we didn’t get any pictures, but we will be returning for a leisure weekend soon.
