A traditional sea side hotel which must have been very grand when first built. The original features have been left but bedrooms are clean and up to date.

The check in time was 4pm which meant some waiting time but that was the only problem.

Service & staff were exceptional. Made a lone traveller so welcome & inclusive. Beautiful interior with original features , flowers & artwork throught out this family run hotel. A historical Gem. The menu, food & chefs are amazing too. Thankyou for a great stay & value as breakfast was included.

staff were friendly and helpful. it was clean , and it was really good to be able to eat a meal at 5.00 in the afternoon. the breakfast was excellent and being offered unbattered beautifully cooked fresh cod as fish and chips was a real bonus.

it is a ageing a bit which lends charm, except for squeaky floorboards late at night.

The second we entered the hotel we were treated like VIP's. Hotel was tidy and clean, reception staff, gave clear and precise directions to where our room was situated, and we had no problems booking in. Breakfast was a feast, tasty and the serving staff was prompt, friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We had three small dogs in tow, and we felt as if they was as welcome as we were. All in all, the hotel and the staff are a credit to Penzance and we have no hesitation recommending the hotel to anyone who needs a good, clean place to stay...

We cannot in all honestly find fault with the hotel....

I really wanted a room with a bath and the staff member was very helpful to get me one although I didn’t have a sea view then

In the past I have had a single room with bath and sea view , I have stayed at the hotel on the same weekend over the years and this is the first time this has happened and I had to pay an extra £25 , i so wanted a hot bath after my long journey so I paid it but it was a bit disappointing. I was put in a room that was inaccessible by the lift resulting in my having to negotiate a flight of stairs with luggage and no help with this was offered, I would have appreciated being told my room was to be reached by more stairs and offered some help .

I had an exceptional stay at The Queen's Hotel in Penzance, deserving nothing less than 5 stars. This charming establishment sits right on the promenade, offering breathtaking views of the crystal-clear waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Plus, it's conveniently within walking distance of the GWR railway station, connecting directly to Paddington, London. Our room was not just spacious, but it also boasted a stunning vista of St. Michael's Mount in the distance. The generously sized bathroom, and a complimentary kettle, a selection of tea, coffee, and biscuits, added a delightful touch to our stay. The only minor drawback was the somewhat antiquated plumbing, particularly noticeable in the shower. The service was truly outstanding, with a special nod to Sarah, the receptionist, who was a gracious hostess. She went above and beyond to guide us through Penzance and provided invaluable information on exploring the neighboring towns and villages of Southern Cornwall. To top it off, the English breakfast was nothing short of scrumptious. There was an extensive selection of cereals, juices, bacon, sausages, eggs, and an array of teas and coffee. They even catered to vegetarians. Our experience at The Queen's Hotel was undeniably enjoyable, making it a top-notch choice for anyone visiting Penzance.

The antiquated plumbing esp in the shower area.

I booked a single room but it was actually decent sized double so was larger than expected. Everything worked as one would expect. The breakfast was very good with a good range of options. Staff were all very helpful

The hotel is quite old and the room is in serious need of a refresh. This is the 2nd time staying here and the previous room was in a similar state. To me there is a balance between traditional and tatty. I don't like the way the sash windows only open about 3 inches. I understand it is for safety and stop the seagulls getting in (I had a resident one on the window sill) but in hot weather the room was stiflingly hot and the supplied fan not a whole lot of use. The only issue with breakfast that I saw was the full english was on a large plate to present everything but the veggie breakfast was served with just 1 sausage instead of sausage and bacon and so on a small plate. It could have either had 2 sausage or 2 eggs and not just served smaller.

The bed was very comfortable, the shower was really good and the towels were nice. The hairdryer also worked pretty well, and the little chair was nice I ADORED the hot chocolate packets within the room. There were two mugs, some mini milks and hot chocolate packets, as well as a kettle. I boiled it and made myself a hot chocolate and then ended up feeling so cozy with it I made a second one. It was really nice I only stayed one night and had to leave before breakfast began, but honestly overall it was really nice

The view wasn't ideal, if I remember right it was facing away from the coast, but to be fair I didn't mind much as it wasn't that much of a bother. Honestly the biggest issue for me was with how close the hotel is to the coast, the seagulls were very loud. I was woken up at 5 am by seagulls screaming and wasn't able to get back to sleep. Also there wasn't a plug by the bed so I had to charge my phone further away, but this is mostly nitpicking. I overall had a positive experience and a really good night's sleep, even with the seagulls

We booked the room last minute. I called to check if i could do an upgrade as we had our anniversary with my husband. The lovely receptionist was absolutely the sweetest and she organised everything for us. We had the room with the view and it was absolutely stunning. Big nice windows with the most amazing view. The sea! Clean sheets, clean towels, clean room, clean toilet. We requested an iron and they gave us one, in a minute time! Next day we had breakfast in the room. They organise a tray for us to collect with all our choices on it. Lovely! Absolutely we loved the stay.

As it is such a cold winter I really like being warm. My room was delightfully warm and cosy though no heating or heated towel rail in the bathroom so I left the bathroom door open to a warm it up. I had two meals with a friend and one alone in the restaurant and the food was surprisingly good. I say surprisingly because there were very few guests eating. The seafood linguine was excellent as was the crab and prawn pasta bake. A lady called Natalie was on breakfast service every day and she was jolly and delightful.

Same as before. They still only clean the room every three days. In fact, I stayed one week and my room was only done once. We are over Covid now so this really shouldn't be an issue, it is just to save money. I don't want or need fresh towels because I believe in saving on that but I did want my bin emptied!!
