The Hotel/Pub, Gulval. The weather, the people- brother especially as he lives there. The room it was stuffy but it's an old building and thankfully not fitted with air condition so wasteful and noisy and bags of character. Other folk won't mind because hardly anyone has their windows open these days, weird. So glad you haven't trashed it into something all modern and miserable, and it was lovely hot weather. The staff are very friendly and helpful especially at breakfast which was great and the music and seating. Bed comfortable, shower great and bathoom facilities. But mostly the atmosphere you have there, so don't change please. Parking for car owners, but it's easy to get around on foot and much better. Thank you xx.

I loved the Gulval location - on the edge of Penzance, easy to walk to the centre of town, but a real village atmosphere. Friendly staff, popular pub but not noisy at night. We walked to the Tremeneere sculpture park (lovely, but I think it's more than the three miles they say on the sign).

We were happy with it, but a fairly simple place - some people might want something different. As I said in another review - I find a synthetic duvet too warm for summer and would have appreciated a sheet.

My wife and I stayed at the Coldstreamer Inn for two nights from Mevagissey as my wife had surgery in Penzance. We were very happy about the willingness to help and friendliness. Everything was very to our satisfaction. Dinner and breakfast were good. It is a hotel for normal people who are looking for peace. You'll find it all at the Coldstreamer Inn. I think it's worth coming back

Breakfast was good and pub had a very authentic atmosphere. A little way away from Penzance so a car was helpful. Room nicely refurbished and the fish and chips i had for dinner were fantastic.

Cold tap seemed to be stuck. I kind of hoped the staff / pub would be a bit more welcoming to a solo traveller, but service was fine enough. Pretty satisfied overall.

The room is spacious and clean. Staffs are friendly. Breakfast is just right, you can request the breakfast on the dot and specify what you like. It is quiet at the hill top.

The location is bit odd but it is my own choice. Off street parking was a concern, but it seems its not that bad in the evening.

Gorgeous historic building. Sweet setting, parking wasn’t a problem and it was a very quiet village. Staff couldn’t do enough for us, they were brilliant.

Little bit of noise from the bar until closing and the windows didn’t do much for noise. The green safety light was also very bright. All very minor issues

Beds were comfortable. Nice choice for breakfast. We enjoyed dinner one night. It was a long walk to Penzance, but easy to take a taxi back. We walked to a bus stop and took a bus tour of the coast for $10 for an all day pass. You could get off and on at any town on the route.

We had a great one night stay - after returning from the Isles of Scilly. Staff extremely friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful, fantastic evening meal with a big menu - 10 / 10 for prawn curry. Wonderful cooked full English breakfast.

It was quite comfortable, the food was good and the staff very helpful. A local pub with good beer. We were there for quiz night (Tuesday) which we enjoyed.

Unfortunately the bed had a squeak which kept us awake.
