Bonners Lodge

Bonners Lodge B&B is perfect and now at the top of the list of all the B&B's we have visited throughout the UK. We stayed in the Polar Suite which is very tastefully decorated and everything is provided for your comfort. Michelle & Ken are lovely hosts and the breakfast made up from local produce was exceptional. We only wished we had stayed longer but will certainly try and visit again , in the meantime we will highly recommend Bonners Lodge B&B to our friends.

This isn't a home from home, it's so much better than I imagined. A warm welcome and a very comfortable stylish and quirky room, with every detail thought out. From the luxurious toiletries and top notch towels and linens, through to the thoughtful touches like Christmas lights and some cake. Decent tea bags and coffee, fresh milk and excellent breakfast choices. USB charging points in the room too. And the chance to interact with the animals in this peaceful scenic location. I was sad to leave.

I wished I was staying for a week.

Michelle is a lovely, welcoming, and attentive host. Nothing was too much trouble. The bedroom and facilities were five star standards. We had grandchildren visiting us for one day. Michelle and her staff were brilliant, walking the donkeys whilst the children were in the saddle. Also, the alpacas and goats were brought out and supervised, allowing safe petting. It's a fantastic B&B in lovely scenic countryside.

Everything was spot on.

The location just outside Consett is very nice and there are many animals nearby. Our room was clean, comfortably furnished and had a very large, comfortable bed. The breakfast leaves nothing to be desired and is amply sized if you want. There is also plenty to do for families with children, e.g. a petting corner, alpacas, donkey etc. We give *****.

There was nothing to complain about.

Bonner‘s Lodge Is truly a hidden gem in the Durham countryside. Michelle and Ken are wonderfully friendly hosts who run a family friendly accommodation nestled amongst solitude of the farms on a beautiful hill. Our daughter had a magical time meeting all of the farm animals and we all enjoyed our comfortable, serene room which had every amenity available. The food was astounding, and the grounds were so gorgeous and even included a little playground for children.

The room was so comfortable with so many added extras…homemade chocolate brownies on arrival, an Easter egg for our son, cowshed toiletries, homemade shortbread biscuits on our second day. The location was great, it was wonderful that there were animals there too (goats, a donkey, Shetland pony, horse, alpacas…my son was able to help the owner, Michelle, feed them which he loved).

The location was great, very peaceful with parking. The layout of the house was excellent and the rooms beautifully furnished and clean. The bedding and towels were all bright white and smelled gorgeous. Michelle’s cooking was superb, the Irish soda bread was amazing. She was an excellent hostess and happy to make her guests as comfortable and welcome as possible.

The setting is just so peaceful and pretty. a complete get away in stunning countryside. Michelle goes out of her way to make sure everything is perfect with so many thoughtful touches to make your stay extra comfortable. I stayed in the Polar room which was beautiful. slept so well and the views are lovely. I can’t fault the place 💖

We had a wonderful 2 night stay at Bonners Lodge. Michelle & Ken were excellent hosts, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The room was beautiful and spotlessly clean. We loved all of the finishing touches including the home made chocolate brownies and fresh milk for our tea. The breakfast was delicious and the surroundings amazing including the delightful alpacas and the cute little donkey. We will definitely return here.

Everything, great hosts, great rooms, could not fault a thing, can't wait to go back, will take our twin granddaughters next time, the farm animals were adorable, a mule, Shetland pony, 2 miniature goats and alpacas and the 3 pet dogs, proper 5 star accommodation, will probably take the caravan next time, small touring field with excellent facilities, thankyou Michelle and ken made us so welcome, felt like we'd known them for years, definitely the best weekend break we've ever had.
