The people who have only recently taken over running the hotel were EXTREMELY friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. We had the "best room in the house" and it was delightful, having obviously been recently refurbished. The En-Suite was enourmous, clean and the shower was superb. Views out over the valley were brilliant and we were lucky to have stunning weather too. Breakfast was excellent.

Being picky, the TV remote was playing up, but the TV buttons sufficed during our stay. Mentioned at time of checkout. The L/H side of the bed was uncomfortable. Not sure if the frame was damaged, or the matress needed replacing. Just sank down when you lay on it. The R/H side was perfect, so something needs attention.

What a wonderful b&b. Stunning views, spacious, clean and comfortable rooms. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. Very nice food too, We couldn’t recommend highly enough. We were generously offered an upgraded room to allow us to check in earlier before attending a wedding nearby, which was really helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms fitted out with everything you could need.

Literally the only thing I can think of would be to try get some way to part open the windows in the room. Possibly was just the one room affected, I understand this might be difficult as they’re big old sash windows in that one, but a little fresh air in the hot weather would have been just the ticket. But this certainly didn’t ruin our stay nor put us off booking again.

Our hosts were amazing and made us so welcome during our extended stay. They were very accommodating as we decided at the last minute to stay on a few days. A beautiful location and very comfortable surroundings and bedroom three has a stunning panoramic view of the valley. Breakfasts and homemade bread - the best we've ever tasted. Highly recommended.

As our hosts were aware of, some small attention to detail and 'finish' to the property. Being able to eat in the 'Tea Room' rather than the middle room which was quite dark and uninviting. Otherwise it was great.

The best cooked breakfast ive ever had cooked to order and top quality ingredients welcomed on arrival with a pot of tea which was perfect the tearoom is also really good serving great drinks cakes biscuits and lunches all the staff were really friendly and helpful for all things related to the surrounding area the room we booked was beautiful with lovely views

very minor criticism mattress a little soft but this is a personal preference and a lot of people like a softer mattress

The pod itself was lovely, clean and very modern with great facilities. Seating outside to enjoy the amazing views, shower was great, bed was comfortable, all crockery and cutlery available. Teabags and coffee sachets were a nice touch as well as the welcome pack!

Our only gripe was the fact we stayed on the hottest day of the year! There are 2 heaters in the property for when it’s cold but nothing to keep you cool on the warmer days and it was ridiculously uncomfortably hot! A fan would of been a nice touch!

I was warmly welcomed by Owner, Louise, for my 2 night stay. The room was immaculate and fresh, with lovely decor. The breakfast was home-made and fresh, cooked by Louise’s husband Trevor. They also helped me organise a taxi to and from the family wedding I had traveled for and Louise even kindly offered to taxi me to the station for my train home, when the taxi was late.

I thought I’d booked a room with en-suite, but when I arrived I was given a room with separate bathroom, along the hallway. Whilst it was for my exclusive use, as a lone female traveller, I felt I should have been given one of the rooms with the en-suite in the bedroom. That said, I didn’t feel compromised, it was more of an inconvenience/ discomfort having to go dressed to and from the bathroom. I’d also like to suggest that the kitchen with adjoining dining area has better extractor fans installed. Whilst the smell of cooking didn’t travel upstairs, I did leave the dining room smelling of cooked breakfast after I left. It’s for these two reasons I scored the experience 8 out of 10.

We had a warm welcome, and offered complementary Tea and Cake served in the Greendale View Kitchen/restaurant which is a cosy homely space with extensive views over the valley. Breakfast is served here, with a good choice on the menu. We had the full English Breakfast which was beautifully cooked and generous, also the accompanying Tea and Coffee, Juices, homemade bread/toast, was exceptional and generous. The bedroom was a high standard with large ensuite bathroom, with bath and shower facilities. And most importantly the bed was comfortable and large, with plenty of leg-room for my husband, so we had a good nights sleep.

My only criticism was the closeness of the road, but it is a relatively quiet road, so no noise to cause an issue over night. We had thought we might be able to eat in the restaurant in the evening but the 'Kitchen' closes at 5pm. However, it was a short walk/drive to Chatburn where there are a number of good pubs who do food in the evening. This might be an issue for those staying on a Monday/Tuesday evening when some pubs are closed.

This is a gem of a place to stay. The welcome is friendly and helpful. This is a family run establishment and this family really run it. Eric (I think) makes bread every morning, including gluten free, which, as a coeliac, I require. And that is the best gluten free bread I have ever tasted. The building is impressive and replete with character and history. The bedroom was spacious, beautifully clean and well appointed, the en-suite equally so. Arriving down for breakfast I enjoyed the wood burning fire warming the room on a cool Spring morning, looking out over the Bowland Fells, a truly wonderful sight. Louise, Eric and their daughter looked after me and the other customers in a friendly efficient manner. The breakfast was perfect. I would like to make a special mention of Sky. Sky is the beautiful, intelligent, gun dog that will greet you with the delicacy of an ambassador and visit you regularly to check on you. She is also grateful for titbits. As I wrote in the guest book, a dog to melt your heart. I could only stay one night but I intend to return soon.

The room was exceptional, clean comfy and warm. Bathroom was beautiful with an excellent shower. The people were lovely and very helpful and the breakfast was very good!

It would've been nice to have a heads up about their dog. I love dogs but I'm allergic. Thankfully had some antihistamine that morning anyway, so wasn't an issue, but would've been good to know in advance. (If I missed this on the website anywhere then apologies)

The large window in the bedroom had a lot of flies and ladybirds crawling round on the inside not sure how they was getting in as window closed? But we just kept removing them and closed the curtains it was no big deal just worth mentioning,Time of year I guess. Bedroom and bathroom was spotless!!
