The Goodwood Hotel

The bar staff made us twice feel unwelcome and ‘second class’ guests. We reported this to reception and took the service charge off our dinner as the staff member had poor communication skills

The hotel was lovely, a perfect blend of upmarket contemporary decoration, whilst not being ostentatious. Food very nice and pretty good value for money. The staff were, polite, well mannered and attentive , in fact everything that one would expect from this hotel.

I would suggest soft close bedroom doors, as the guests next door continually allowed the doors to bang shut until well past midnight. We had an early night as we had an early start the following morning, but the actions of inconsiderate guests ruined our sleep. Obviously not the fault of Goodwood Hotel, but soft closing doors would have helped.

We stayed for one night before a track day at Goodwood Racecourse and had an amazing time! Spa and swimming pool is great although quite busy due to the bank holiday. We loved having Sunday lunch at the Kennels and the room was perfectly comfortable for an overnight stay. Breakfast was great - cooked breakfast is made in the kitchen rather than buffet which makes it a bit more special than your usual hotel - and the selection of pastries and fruits was also great. Unlimited filter coffee also a great touch as I much prefer that in the morning to italian coffee! All round a perfect stay and would come back again if I had the chance!

Signposts to the Kennels could have been a little easier from the hotel but we were rubbish at reading the map which didnt help :)

A nice spacious room for us and our baby - could very easily fit a travel cot as well as her pram and the numerous bits of luggage we had. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Enjoyed a lovely meal and breakfast in the restaurant which was all delicious and excellent quality food.

There were small area’s that were a bit rough around the edges, for example, the fixtures and fittings within the bath/shower had seen better days and could do with repairs.

Had a relaxing overnight stay at the Goodwood Hotel and Spa. The facilities were great and the room big enough to accommodate us and the woofer. The staff were excellent and were very attentive to us both as well as Dudley the dog who enjoyed their attention and treats. DInner in the Bar and Grill restaurant was easily organised at the last minute and very good.

There are walking routes available around the Hotel and House grounds and a map is provided that shows the routes. Unfortunately as much of the routes border the golf course, there isn't much opportunity where the woofer can be let off the lead to run freely.

Both dinner and breakfast were excellent. The food was good and the service was fine. Unfortunately, the actual restaurant area seemed to be a little dated. We also managed to get to the health club the following day and were really pleased that a day membership was included with the booking. Fortunately, we were upgraded as we arrived as it was our 25th wedding anniversary. The room was spacious and we had French doors out to a relatively private terrace. We would have no hesitation in recommending the Goodwood Hotel and would even encourage potential guests to walk the grounds during their stay.

The restaurant area felt a bit dated.

The breakfast was very good, also breakfast staff. Nice surroundings, comfortable rooms.

Afternoon staff wasn‘ t really able to cope, needed more than twenty minutes for two coffee which had to be ordered at the bar. For the quote high fee asked for dogs (30£ per dog) staff was friendly but not even bins were offered outside- difficult to clean up after dogs then.

Everything was just fantastic. Staff so friendly. I came for a wedding and I didn’t expect my room to be ready at midday. They said people had checked out early and they had cleaners in Early. That doesn’t happen at many hotels.

Rude customers. I had an amazing fine dining breakfast at the Farmers butchers restaurant. It was amazing. Best black pudding ever.Breakfast finished at 10am (another restaurant was open until 11am so so accommodating) The staff were so lovely. However a couple arrived at 1005 22nd demanding to eat there. The young Waiter was so lovely and polite but this couple were so rude they had to open up the kitchen. I believe they were rude at reception too. I hope they are reading this because you will know who you are!

Pretty much everything was excellent. The meal in the restaurant in the evening was very good. Breakfast had a very wide selection of fare, hot and cold. The location is excellent for exploring the Chichester and surrounding area. There was no problem with parking. The gym was very well supplied with machines and weights. The swimming pool with sauna and jacuzzi was very relaxing. Both these facilities had their busy periods. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The view from the room was a little disappointing and the room was generally dark, making it hard to read a book.
