The room was one of the best that I have ever stayed in. Attention to detail and high quality products everywhere. Fresh milk, quality coffee and tea, hot chocolate. Bathroom products impressed my daughter so they must have been good. On a hot day the windows were open and the fan going. The food in the pub was stunning along with a good bitter on draught and reasonably priced wines. If I was a little shorter I could have become a regular!! Not surprisingly breakfast was top drawer, fresh juice, home baked bread quality tea, great sausage and bacon. Lovely.

My only minor issue is that for anyone over 6'3"" the sleigh beds are just too small. The bed my daughter slept on in the Shepherd's hut isn't suitable for anyone over 5'10". Wish places would highlight the length of their beds, I've nevwr seen it so far........

We stayed in the Shepherd's hut with our dog - it was fabulous and exceeded our expectations. Spacious & comfortable - it had everything we could ever need; the mini kitchen and bathroom were great. It even has a log burner for when the weather isn't too warm. Our friend stayed in one of the rooms in the barn and it was gorgeous! Lovely seating area and lawns outside and a lovely walking trail directly outside which was a real bonus. Owner and staff were fantastic, very friendly and helpful. And the breakfast was absolutely superb - hats off to chef! Would stay again and I would highly recommend.

I travel to Goodwood at least 2 times a year for work and always struggled with accommodation - not anymore! I just loved every single thing about the Halfway Bridge! I have mentioned I wanted a quiet room as I work long hours and they were thoughtful to put me in a little charming cottage, the staff was so friendly and welcoming and the food is amazing! I can't recommend it enough - and will definitely be coming back soon

I wish I could have experienced their breakfast to no fault of their own - I just had early work call times.

Food, including breakfast was delicious with a great and varied menu from snacks to three course meals and served with friendly care and efficiency. The accommodation was superb, quirky, clean and spacious. Location was great with lots of pretty villages and places to visit nearby.

The rain. The weather was atrocious and the accommodation being a little away from the Inn meant we couldn't help but get wet. The location is on a main road with fast approaching traffic. Some roads were closed due a fire making getting around a bit difficult, particularly in the rain with flooded roads. However, none of these were the fault of Halfway Bridge Inn.

The pub is located on a main road but the accommodation is tucked away in a quiet location, there was no road traffic noise, just the sound of the birds. We stayed in the Shepherd’s Hut, affectionately named 'Shepherd's Delight'. It has been finished to a very high standard and the layout is impressive with every detail thought through. As you enter, there is a double bed to the left with two windows, one to the side and one to the front. There is a small TV and hanging area with a hairdryer, there is also a large mirror above two seats and a table with radio, there is a small radiator too. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, hob top, crockery, cutlery, tea, coffee etc, complimentary water is also provided. Opposite is the log burner which is a really lovely feature. The bathroom is to the right and the shower is a decent size. Shampoo, conditioner, hand wash and body lotion are provided in large bottles, they smell divine and are made locally in Petworth. We had dinner in the restaurant, the dining areas are interesting and quirky and have been sympathetically refurbished to a high standard. There was a great choice for breakfast, the food and service was brilliant throughout. Thank you to Charlene and her team for looking after us, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

warm friendly welcome. lovely old pub not far from Petworth with excellent well presented food with really good service and first class breakfast . our room no 5 was at the rear , in an old stable block . although close to the main road , no noise at all there are walks and lovely views from all the rooms as they back onto the hills behind the pub. Room very comfortable and well equipped . if I’m being hyper critical TV was small for size of room. but that’s easily rectified we stayed for one night , but could have easily stayed 2 or 3. beautiful area with lots of walks and places to visit . Will definitely return .

I decided to have a night away from my family to breathe the fresh sweet air of peace and quiet and boy I was well and truly treated. A dinner on my own, with a fantastic vegan meal which surprised me for a pub. Any fine restaurant would proud to serve the butternut squash pastry and crispy kale dish I savoured and thoroughly enjoyed. The small details in my room were well thought out and a beautiful touch to the overall experience. After having a hot bath, I poured a hot chocolate, using the fresh milk from the fridge and got into the crisp white fluffy duvet. And breatheedddddddd very deeply. This my friend is not just a hotel. This is an array of delectable experiences they will satiate all senses. From the kind and beautiful waitress, to the eccentric and generous manager, all the way to the delicious full English breakfast in the morning. So yes I do recommend. Highly.

very comfortable stay in a well appointed room in a modernised row of old buildings. This was across a quiet country lane from the pub/restaurant which provided some excellent fare at breakfast and dinner. The place would be worth visiting for the food alone. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is in a hamlet just off the main road and is quiet and peaceful. Petworth is relatively close and certainly worth exploring. I used the local bus which runs regularly from the bus stop on the main road.

We’ve just had a one night stay and our big room exceeded our expectations it was luxurious with the most comfortable bed with quality linen and bedding, the bath was big and lovely to soak in. The room was spotlessly clean. The next morning we had a beautiful breakfast with lots of choice from the menu, excellent quality! The staff are really friendly and helpful. We would love to stay again. Thanks Halfway Bridge for a lovely night away.

The barn conversion style accommodation was charming - I stayed in room 1 and the bed and pillows were super comfy. Tea n coffee facilities too. Food at the Inn was really good - breakfast was included within my stay and included veggie options and I had dinner there every night as was so yum! as well as convenient as meant I could have a couple of drinks knowing my room was just across the lane 👍 Staff friendly. Would definitely stay again 😁

The wall mounted shower doesnt quite project enough out to the bath so you do have to stand pretty close up to the top end of the bath to get proper underneath it - some people may possibly struggle. The food was really nice but a tad on the pricey side - great as a treat - stayed 3x nights so had 3x dinners there, but probably couldn't afford to have eaten there every night if stayed longer and wasnt taken with the 12% surcharge as opposed to a discretionary tip, even as a solo traveller! 😬 (all adds up especially in the current climate!) Im a light sleeper and there were a few scrabblings above in the night and fairly early in the morning - not enough for a sleepless night and would definitely recommend overall and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
