The ShellSea Krabi-SHA Extra Plus

I was unfortunate to have a fall which resulted in broken ribs just before arriving at this hotel. The hotel staff and management were extremely helpful and did everything they could to make my stay as comfortable as possible (under the circumstances). This included bringing all our meals to our room and arranging hospital transportation, I could not fault them in any way

I couldn't see any beach restaurants within walking distance so if you don't want to eat at the hotel it as a 10 or 15 minute taxi ride into Ao Nang. There is a shuttle service provided by the hotel 3 or 4 times a day but if need to get your own taxi it typically costs 200 Baht each way

restaurant was a bit disappointing in that there was no nice views (given the hotel was on a stunning beachfront location). it seemed a bit short staffed at times. we used this hotel as a base for exploring krabbi and doing island boat trips and so the location for the hotel wasn’t as ideal for us. we had to get tuk tuks in and out of ao nang which took approx 20 mins. they did have a shuttle bus to ao nang but it was only ran 3 times per day and had 12 seats so was usually fully booked. you can’t walk anywhere from the hotel eg to other restaurants so just bear this in mind. saying this, we did prefer to stay here rather than the busy ao nang.

Very comfortable, very clean and staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and looked exactly like the pictures and bed was very comfortable.

Nothing to dislike about this property. To note the hotel is a bit further away from Ao Nang (about 13 minutes by scooter) which is nice and quiet but worth being aware of. We enjoyed the scooter ride to and from the town!

Almost everything. Tastefully designed resort. Definitely exceptional landscape. Great view and chilling benches are there for you to lay back and enjoy the nature. Delicious cocktail. Nice pool. Amazing and unforgettable experience. Check in and see for yourself.

Tap water is salty, need to use drinking water instead. Location is far off so it's impossible to get grab food in. Room dining is available at the higher price side.

Excellent hotel. Everything is excellent starting from the entrance at the gate with the guard smiling and greeting you when you leave. Through the luxurious and spacious lobby with the always smiling and welcoming staff. The rooms are large, spacious and cleaned twice a day. The two pools are large, very clean, the bar on the pool is great, a seating area with strong currents massage your whole body is exhilarating, the water is very pleasant. Breakfast is great, great variety of food and drink. A selection of sausages, salads and cut vegetables and fruits, a selection of cheeses, yogurt cold and hot drinks, eggs in a wide variety of preparations, breads and desserts. Everything is delicious, fresh and clean. The atmosphere in the dining room is very pleasant, you can sit inside or outside. We had dinner several times at the hotel, the food is delicious, clean, in a variety of world cuisines. The staff is excellent, attentive, helpful, always right to explain and direct. At the hotel, a travel agent sits next to the receptionists, we did two very good trips with her at a very good price. Everything that was promised in the trip was fulfilled. The hotel has a round-trip shuttle to Ao Nang beach several times a day, you must reserve a spot on the shuttle up to an hour before the trip. There is parking for cars. The hotel has marine activities every day as well as sports activities, all in a variety of activities that are listed and change every day on a board. The hotel has a spa, but its prices are very expensive compared to Krabi city. In conclusion, a super recommended hotel, located in a great location with a private beach and not very far from the city. Recommended, highly recommended.

our sea view room was at the end and the tent restaurant in front obstructed the view a bit for us.

I loved: 1. The lovely & well-designed room, lighting & fixtures (well-lit & you can go dark if you wish), large bathroom, double sink 2. Strong WiFi, full amenities 3. Lush gardens & private beach, well-maintained 4. Nice & quiet restaurant amidst the lush gardens and no pool/swimmers view, lovely background music 5. Awesome & friendly staff 6. Booked an island-hopping tour with a great group lead; group was small (abt 10) and lovely guests from other hotels in town and we were well-taken care of.

Nothing really. If at all - perhaps a convenient store or some shops in or around the vicinity would be nice, for snacks/munchies or supplies/souvenirs. You'll need to stock up on supplies from town (15-30 mins away) if you are a muncher like me and there are no local shops outside the hotel gates.

Beautiful location and facilities were lovely. Having the quiet private beach right next to the hotel was a bonus. All staff were very helpful. The room was very spacious and the balcony overlooking the sea and pool area was delightful.

Although there is a large open sided restaurant in the main hotel area, it was extremely hot in this area and a bit sterile in the evening. There is a lovely poolside bar with restaurant facilities with a number of tables and chairs surrounding it. It overlooks the sea and for us, we would have much preferred to be able to eat at this location in the evening taking advantage of the views over the sea. Unfortunately it shuts in the early evening so this was not possible. So it is not that we didn't like the main restaurant but rather we thought that not having the poolside restaurant open in the evening as missing a trick.

The Shell Sea seemed initially a long way out of town. But as we settled in we lived the delights of Shellsea and then totally felt the location was perfect. The bedroom and balcony were very tastefully designed with a seaside theme. We enjoyed that the bedroom was well equiped with hairdryer. an iron. and drinking water! The private beach and poolside comforts were tip top.. Kyaking was super and yoga class was so good. The food was great. However. it was the staff who made it the 5 star experience. Most remarkable were the reception, sports and the restaurant staff. . Thank you all for your spectacular, kind and professional service.

The tv continuously playing news or sport in the restaurant was really unnecessary.as each bedroom had tv. It was an unwelcome interference with the peace of the eating area. I found it uncomfortable
