Scandic Malmen

Perfect location right at the very heart of Stockholm. Moreover, the hotel is right on top of the metro station, so it's always easy to navigate around the city if you're a traveler and even though we lived on the first floor, there were practically no sound from the metro itself. The breakfasts were superb! Amazing and very tasty. The staff was amazing and very helpful. Exceeded my expectations. Had the standard room. It had an iron and ironing board, but there is no keetle, so keep in mind.

Although you barely hear the noise from the metro, at some nights, you could clearly hear all the noise and partying from neighbors on the opposite sides of the wall, so would recommend getting earplugs if youre sensitive to noise during sleep like me.

The breakfast was simply superb - a huge selection of food (including vegan, gluten-free and others) that was all delicious. The room where the breakfast buffet was laid out was huge which gave loads of space to get food without it feeling crowded. The bedroom was large and comfortable. The location was extremely convenient, with a metro station right next door.

Being in a busy location, the room was a bit noisy at night but it wasn't too problematic. The hotel bar was very busy in the evenings (Friday and Saturday night) and there was a lot of security at the door, checking our room keys and such before we could enter which was a little uncomfortable.

Breakfasts were amazing. Plenty of vegan and gluten-free options, and they took away the GF toaster to clean it when someone accidentally put gluten in it! Very good. Perfect location and nice bar downstairs. There was the option to borrow a bicycle free of charge, love that! The gym is a small weights room but good to have the option.

No storage space in the room, and only a handful of hangers to use. Bathroom was tiny but so am I so it was OK. My room had a cheap feel due to the laminate floors and crappy view, but were clean, comfortable and the building overall was more than fine. Think it's a Swedish thing but my double bed had a single duvet (and another single duvet folded up on a shelf) - initially seemed odd but friends in other hotels had the same experience. All reasonable limitations given the relative low price I paid compared to other hotels in the area.

I had alreasy stayed in this hôtel in May 2009 and I loved it! It is very trendy, the staff is very kind, the breakfast is great and the location is very good.

The fact that we can no longer have free access to the municipal swimming pool on the other site of the street. I also felt that the soin the breakfast room -where the food is- was often dirty and sticky. The hôtel is very noisy at night, I don't know if it's the music at the bar or outsider. But anyway, it's the Summer so people have the right to party 😀 But the security gard at the entrance of the bar was extremely unpleansant when asking us if we were guests of the hotel. We didn't feel welcomed!

The breakfast was amazing, huge choice of different food and the waiter went around the tables to serve freshly baked croissant. The position of the hotel is very convenient. Nice and comfortable bed.

My partner is gluten intolerant and found the breakfast alternatives poor. Moreover there was only one butter box available and of course it was shared with all the other guests and therefore contained "normal" bread crumbs which is not the best for a celiac. The room was overall comfortable and it had everything we needed but a funny smell came from the bathroom from time to time (I believe the sewer was the problem?) so we had the bathroom closed the entire time!

The location is super at the main square in the Södermalm district with the metro entrance just next door. This hotel is perfect for travellers who want to enjoy Stockholm's nightlife. The breakfast stayed open until 13h00 on Sunday and 11h00 on Saturday. The breakfast buffé was real nice and contained a great variety of options. I was given late check-out on Monday free-of-charge. The staff were pleasant and professional. The hotel has an acceptable fitness centre with free weights, cardio machines and effective airconditioning.

The bathroom was very tiny and it was a challenge to move around in it. There was no kettle and tea in the room.

The location was great! In the centre of an exciting area, right next to the underground, easy walk to the other districts. We loved the breakfast that was included, so much variety, best we have ever had at a hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful!

The bedding was odd, perhaps a Swedish culture difference. We had one single duvet for us to share, and the pillows were very thin. The bed was comfortable enough.

Location was great, right near the center of Sodermalm, and only 15-20min walk to Gamla Stan. Good proximity to most forms of public transit. Nice room, though the bathroom is quite small. Included breakfast was good.

Included breakfast was good, but lacked variety. The same thing every day for an extended stay can get a bit boring, but the quality was generally good. Coffee in the room would be nice, though there is a (pay) coffee machine in the lobby.

Great location, well priced/general good value for money and breakfast was very varied. Room was basic but had everything we needed.

The hotel was super popular which was fine but a bit disconcerting to have that many people around all the time. Because of this, breakfast was very rigid timeslots (45 minutes) which meant if you slept in (which happened one day due to a nearby room allowing their children to run around the corridor screaming at 7am for an hour..), you missed the opportunity for breakfast altogether. Understand capacity constraints but it would have been ideal to have more flexibility in this respect
