Hellstens Glashus

The breakfast was very good with a great selection of food. It was a very good location, just across the road from the metro which meant we could travel around Stockholm easily. I had a meal in the restaurant on the first night and would rate the food and service high. A constant supply of tea and coffee was available on a self service basis on the ground floor.

Not much to say here. The only negative which is more to do with location was that the restaurant/bar across the road was very noisy late into the evening at the weekend and as we had a room at the front of the hotel we couldn't leave the window open at night. Otherwise it was a lovely calm area.

We had a room with a large balcony, which was lovely to enjoy the balmy summer evenings and a morning coffee. The balcony faced a green and leafy inner courtyard, so it was quiet. I like this hotel, it's stylish and funky and the breakfast buffet is excellent. Staff was super friendly and helpful. I suppose the rooms are all different styles or sizes as it is an old building.

The only issue we had that there was no space to open our suitcase. I suppose there was about a meter of floor space around the bed and we travelled with two large suitcases, so it is always a bit annoying when you don't have anywhere to put the suitcases or if you are not able to keep them open during your stay to easily access your belongings. There also was no closet/wardrobe in the room to put your clothes, so we had to keep them in the suitcase.

Breakfast buffet was very plentiful and tasty. Room was simple but well appointed. Bed was comfortable. Staff were generally welcoming and happy to help. Location was excellent being opposite on entrance of an underground station and only three stops out from the central station and within walking distance of the Old Town. .

The hotel did not provide an anti-slip bathmat in the shower room which would have been helpful has my husband has slight mobility issues. When we rang reception, we were just told that they did not provide them and no attempt was made to suggest an alternative. The machine providing free coffee for residents was often out of order, so you had to ask for hot water or coffee from the bar. The complementary biscuits to accompany the coffee and tea from the machine often ran out as a small plate was put out at breakfast and expected to last all day.

Great location - key landmarks within walking distance and if you want to travel by public transport there is a metro station nearby. Surrounded by many bars, cafés and restaurants. Breakfast in the hotel was really good, fresh bread and some local delicacies like pickled herring or meatballs. Staff was friendly and helpful, nice modern design in the restuarant and bar.

The room and especially the bathroom was super small, difficult to manoeuvre. No place to store your clothes - only a few hangers, no place to keep your toiletries in the bathroom. The toilet was placed so close to the bathroom sink that you'll have trouble getting up. The shower constructed poorly as the whole floor would get wet when taking a shower. The room could use a refresher -walls look a bit used up, bathroom doors show the signs of dampness probably because they get wet all the time because of the shower.

Loved the hotel bar which was very cool and relaxed. We could go back there after dinner and play cards with our teenager. Breakfast was included with good choice and plenty of food. Bedroom a decent size. Window actually opened though too noisy on street to go to sleep like that. Great location with lovely bars and restaurants but not too touristy - 10/10

Large double bed was just two singles pushed together with separate sheets and duvets. Pillows were small and lumpy. No drawers for clothes and just a few hangers on hooks on wall. No staff cleared breakfast dishes from tables - one of my pet peeves is eating surrounded by other people’s dirty dishes.

Everything was really great ! But if I may point out two tiny things, which may could have improved our stay it would be: - the floor space in our tiny double-suite was so small that I had problems to do my daily morning yoga routine. Yes, I know that hotel guests were allowed to visit a nearby gym without paying, but for a ten minutes morning routine that is too tedious. - we came to Sthm to go to a fancy event and travelled only with carry-on luggage, but even if we did not have much luggage we had to make sure some of it could hang and be knitter-free until the event. I sign would have been great to inform the hotel guests where to find an iron at least. thx a lot !

oops, wrong field. please see my comments in the previous field. summary: - no space for an evening wardrobe, no iron in the room. No info where to iron a shirt or blouse. - not even room on the floor for a short yoga, not even for a light-weight man like me.

The Glashus is in a great location. It’s very close to a metro station and has great restaurants locally. The area feels very safe. The hotel is quirky. The staff were all very pleasant and the breakfast was good. We enjoyed having tea and coffee always available in the lounge with fresh milk!

We had a standard room to the back of the hotel which was very small. We were there in June and although the weather was not good, the room was very warm as there was no Air conditioning. I would recommend this hotel but maybe not in the summer if your room doesn’t have AC

Exceptional value for money, breakfast was really nice (good hours too, starting at 6:30 am on weekdays) pleasantly surprised that my room had a tv! The location was also nice, a short walk (25-30 min) from the central station. There is a 7 eleven and a metro station nearby, as well as a nice park where you can climb up a rocky hill for an amazing view of the city. Good wifi, everything you can expect from a good hotel room for a great price. I will definitely come back when I'm in Stockholm again.

The room size is good for 1 person on a budget, but the bathroom is really small, so can be an issue for taller people (especially the shower). No shelf/wardrobe to put your clothes. The window is right opposite a window to another room, which fortunately was empty during my stay, but I imagine it can get awkward :)

Hotel is in quiet neighborhood with metro station, shops and coffee bars just a stone throw away. Bedrooms and breakfast room / restaurant have modern design. Breakfast was delicious with great variety of choices.

Tv keeps popping up annoying ads all the time. Room is not sound-proof (noisy neighbors). Carpet in hallways need deep cleaning. Spiral staircase (emergency exit) doesn’t have floor numbers on doors. I think this is a bit of a risk in case of an emergency, the way to the exit needs to be crystal clear.

We loved the location directly across the street from the Mariatorget metro. Everything in Stockholm is easier when you have quick access to the metro. We arrived after 1:00AM because of flight delays and although the reception was closed, everything was sorted for our arrival and we were into our room in no time. The price was also fantastic.

We were happy with the size of the room, but just a warning to others. Doorways, the bathroom and hallways are tight. If you are a large person you might be uncomfortable here. We’ve stayed in Stockholm a few times and it was as we expected compared to previous visits.
