Hotel Villa Katalina By Intur

a nice hotel, located in the lively shopping area of San Sebastian. the nice boulevard along the characteristic bay, the beach, many restaurants, the marina and the old town are within walking distance. the rooms are very well insulated so we were not bothered by traffic noise and construction work.

the rooms are rather small. we first had an awkwardly arranged room in which we could hardly fit our suitcase. luckily the friendly receptionist gave us another room, which was hardly bigger but with a better and more practical layout. the public parking near the hotel is just terrible (even by spanish standards). no ventilation, no clear signing to, for example, the payment terminal and on top of all no elevator. unfortunately there is no other option when arriving by car.

Location of hotel is excellent-easily walk everywhere. The hotel is clean and spotless. Our room was cleaned daily too. Staff were helpful and gave great recommendations for places to eat and things to do. Breakfast was tasty-especially the bacon and eggs.

Felt it was quite expensive. I noticed that the price of my hotel room was much cheaper when there than the price I paid by booking in advance which I was disappointed by. The double bed was two singles pushed together and no actual double bed was available to us which was a pity as we were staying a full week.

Hotel is walking distance from everything but at the same time not in the super tourist zone.good restaurants in the area, I liked the txotx gourmet a lot. Breakfast was good with fresh prepared coffee and eggs as per request. Over all it was a very good stay. The bus station is super close, as well as the bus airport

The details... I grew up in a noisy city, but my husband is a farm boy, for him it was difficult to sleep because of street noise and sometimes next room noise. I slept without an issue :)

the location was unbeatable. the interior design was lovely and modern, all the in-room amenities were great. the staff were super friendly and helpful, the foyer reception area smelt great too! The view and service was wonderful overall.

There was a slight issue with the soundproofing of our room/floor. we heard our neighbor banging around at 5:30am and subsequently the cleaner in their room a few hours afterwards. when a door on our floor was closed our entire room shook. small annoyance, but notable nonetheless. there was also a mould smell in our bathroom, the cleaner did an amazing job everyday, so suspect the smell is coming from the pipes or deeper somewhere else.

Great hotel in the center of San Sebastian (or as the locals call in Donostia)! It is perfectly located in the center, right next to the main streets, squares, the river and a few minutes walk to the beach and the old town. There is a paying parking next door, or you can leave your car on the free parking near the bullring and take the bus back to town. The hotel itself is nicely decorated and modern, and the staff are very kind and friendly :) They gave us great recommendations on the nice places to visit, things to do and of course the best places to eat Pintxos! The rooms themselves are spacious and clean, with a great view on the beautiful streets of the center. We would definitely stay again on our next trip to Donostia as it was good value for money and in a great location!

The only thing that bothered us during the stay is the sound insulation of the rooms: you can hear the doors of other rooms open and close in the corridor, and you can also hear the street (especially when the bin lorries drive by). Not the most disturbing, but if you're a light sleeper it could be bothersome. We also noticed a slight drain smell coming from the shower in the mornings when others were using theirs. As soon as we used ours it was gone but maybe something to look into.

The hotel is very well located in a beautiful area. We could easily go to the Parte Vieja and come back if needed. The room was spacious and well furnished with a couple of comfortable chairs, a table and a very good bed. Everything worked very well and felt clean and comfortable. The bathroom had great lighting around the mirror. The shower was thought out and did not leak into the bathroom. The shower floor had great grip and was not slippery at all. The view of the cathedral was incredible and it was really great to be able to open all the windows and let in fresh air.

We were some of the first guests so there were small quirks that could be fixed. The closet space was a bit limited. It had those hangers that don’t have hooks and have to be inserted into a loop which are a little annoying. The bathroom products could be better quality. The towels were new so they left some lint behind.

The staff were incredible. I accidently forgot my passport in the safe. They called me right away and helped me to coordinate the pick-up with a courier service. Then they printed out the bill of lading and ensured and called me when it was picked up. They were friendly, reassuring and helpful when I was stressed the hell out. Could not be more appreciative. But to be honest, they were lovely before I was needing help to. I really felt welcome at the hotel and the location was excellent. Would recommend, absolutely. Thank you Katalina team!

I initially booked 2 nights and ended up staying for 5. The location is very convenient - only 5 minutes walk to the main bus and tram stations, and 15 minutes walk away from the old town. The street is bustling during the day with stores, cafes, cars and foot traffic. At night it's very quiet...except for the bars 2 blocks away...and depending on the location of your room, you can still hear them until 3 am...but it's not loud enough to wake you up from a deep sleep. The $10 buffet breakfast is good value, with a good selection of pastries, fruits, yogurt, juices, and made-to-order egg & coffee. The helpful and accommodating staff is the real reason I extended my stay - they gave me good tips for where to go outside of San Sebastian by public transportation. Overall, great value for money.

The hotel is perfect. However, Google Maps is wrong with directions. From the bus station, once you get to Ave. Hondarribia, (after you cross the bridge and turn left at the circle where there are cafes at either side), turn left and go one block after you pass the "GAME store." The hotel is on the left at the end of that block.

Great location, right next to the cathedral, in the city center, and a five-minute walk to La Concha beach. Immediate area is full of shops, cafes and nice restaurants. Building looks historical on the outside and very modern on the inside. Very nice interior design and it seems to be quite new, as everything is spotless and immaculate. Room of good size for two adults, comfortable bed and efficient air conditioning. Loved the strong bathroom mirror lighting when shaving in the morning. Staff were super friendly and kind. We loved this efficient hotel and will happily return.

Breakfast. It is somewhat ironic that in such an optimised hotel the set-up for breakfast is so complicated. It is either a set menu or pay as you go for each item, both options are a la carte, no buffet option. In our case, there was only one waitress (kind, but overwhelmed) attending 15-20 tables and as a consequence very long waiting times. To summarise, each morning we had to spend over an hour for eggs and coffee.

The location was about 10 minutes walk from the beach and any of the restaurants in old town. Staff was great at the front desk, very helpful with parking and buses. They supplied towels for the beach and helped us with anything we asked for. Breakfast was and nice the fellow serving made the best coffee:) Would definitely consider staying here again.

Some outdoor space, deck would have been nice.
