Hotel Okako San Sebastian

Very friendly staff that went out of their way to help and accommodate their guests. They also provided recommendations for pincho tours (a must do activity) and other go-to places to visit and enjoy while in San Sebastian. The staff is very patient when you are not a native Spanish speaker so that was also a plus. Room was very clean, quite, and comfortable. It had everything it needed for a weekend stay. The access to a hotel was also very easy and convenient. Location was excellent as it was only few steps away from all the action as well as the bus station and yet it provided the quite environment for a good night sleep. Definitely recommend and would book again if ever back in San Sebastian. Thank you!

Excellent location in the middle of Gros - great neighbourhood for shopping, eating and accessing the closest beach. >10 minute walk from Central (shopping, cafes) >10 minutes from the old town (more food and shops with gifts/traditional product/souvenirs) and La Concha beach. Staff were all very friendly and very helpful. Coffee machine available 24/7 as well as snacks & fruit. Room was petite but very cute. Bathroom was clearly very new and was spacious.

My only dislike would have been that there was no window to the outside - it was to a small internal shaft. it does say ‘internal room’ on the booking but I didn’t understand that was what was meant - my fault not the hotels.

Classic vintage decor combined with good quality modern art. Modern, high quality fittings. Location close to the centre. Use of Nespresso machine in foyer.

Unpredictable room servicing (fully serviced first two days, only bed made following three). Roadworks outside (not a disturbance, but unsightly and difficult to navigate on foot). These roadworks will make a big improvement to the landscape design when they are done, however they are major and will clearly take several more months to complete. It is good for guests to know they are there and that they do not affect the inside of the hotel.

Hotel Okako is a lovely small hotel in the Gros area of San Sebastián. The location is perfect as it’s only a 5-10 minute walk to the old town. The hotel staff was really friendly and helpful. The hotel rooms was absolutely lovely and the bed so comfortable. Lovely quality toiletries as well and thoroughly cleaned daily. nice added touch was the free to use Nespresso machine by reception and selection of fruit and little confectionary biscuits to get you going in the morning. would thoroughly recommend to anyone staying in San Sebastián.

There are currently some road works outside the property but shouldn’t cause an issue for much longer and the noise was actually not that bad in the rooms. The hairdryer could do with replacing with a more powerful model!

The rooms was beautiful. The bed was super comfortable. Great new bathroom and the soaps etc. Coffee and tea downstairs and packaged pastries/cookies and fruit available. A great discount on parking near by about a 5 min walk. We paid €17 a day. Parking is impossible otherwise. Short walk to everything - Old town and all amenities.

Construction right across from the hotel. Looks like a major one and likely to last a few months. Our windows faced the main road so in the morning even with the windows and blinds closed we heard the machines. They started the work at about 8-8:30 in the am. Also a train right across the road. No noise at night but you will hear it during the day if your window is open. A mini fridge in the room would be an amazing addition to take this place to 5*. Our key code kept on getting disconnected every day for 3 days. The staff was super nice and fixed the problem right away but we had to call.

The hotel is in a great location and you can easily walk to all of the typical sights. Adriana, one of the owners, was very friendly and gave great recommendations for where to eat/visit. The hotel itself is very clean and well-decorated. The showers and wifi were excellent.

Interior rooms may feel a bit claustrophobic as the only natural light comes from a very small and dark interior patio. Mattresses were not the most comfortable, but tolerable.

Beautiful boutique hotel on the less touristy side of San Sebastián. interesting art throughout and gorgeous vintage furniture. really comfortable bed!

the room fronted onto the street and there was lots of construction, all through the night one night. nothing the hotel could do about it and not their fault! the windows were really good and if construction wasn’t happening, it would have been really quiet. if you go and there’s construction, ask for a room further into the interior.

The location was excellent because it permitted us to walk to the two main beaches and all the restaurants and yet the hotel was in a quiet spot. The room was lovely and spotlessly clean. Great value for money. Receptionist was exceedingly helpful as she was able to answer every question and made some good recommendations.

A refrigerator in the room would have been good but all in all, only a minor issue

Super convenient location, easy 15 minute walk to the Old Town area. The host were so responsive and provided great eating and activity recommendations while we were there. They even helped make dinner reservations for us and organized taxis to take us to where we needed to go.

There was construction going on across the street which made it very difficult to sleep on the 2nd night there, they worked late into the night and the noise was really loud. But the next day the staff moved quick to transfer us into another room and we didn't have any problems afterwards.

Amazing welcome and communication from Eugenia and her sister, combined with a perfect location in Gros made the start so easy. Add to this a great room with all the facilities required, a large comfortable bed and a recommendation map of her favourite pintxos bars, and we could not have been happier
