Parador de Baiona

This is a beautiful property. I’d booked a lovely room with a sea view and I was happy with that. Food at dinner and breakfast both excellent , with tempting dinner menu and bespoke cooked breakfast.

They really need to throw out much of the furniture in the bedroom - surprisingly shabby and cheap, also the wood veneer panelling has reached its sell by date. Refurbishment and investment definitely needed! I was also surprised when in the bar not to receive snacks with a non alcoholic drink. I had to ask for this and the request was met with surprise. Not everyone wants to drink alcohol , but this shouldn’t reduce the pre prandial experience in nice surroundings, nor should it make a guest feel inferior for not choosing to drink alcohol.

This hotel is stunning. It is a beautiful castle out on the headland overlooking a bay and has a great path running all the way around so you can run or walk in such stunning surroundings. The pool is large and it was easy to find a bed when we turned up late in the afternoon. The restaurant was very nice, breakfast was excellent. The room was large and had good sound proofing, with a large bathroom. We could not fault this gorgeous location, we were only here for one night as we were passing through but we will definitely come back.

Lovely comfy room/bed. Beautiful view. Hotel felt very luxurious. The pool was huge and easy to use-lots of sunbeds/towels etc. Beautiful walk around the fort and easy access to the town

The hotel facilities were great but the staff didn't tell us anything when we arrived. We were given our key and told where our room was but not given information aboutvwhere anything was or restaurant times etc. When we asked about the menu we were told to look on the website. We had to ask the way to the pool and it was difficult to find. The mini bar had no prices and the service on the terrace was slow. We would have liked tea making facilities in the room

Lovely room overlooking the Bay. Spacious and well equipped. The hotel sits high on the peninsula overlooking the Biano Bay, away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy areas. Excellent food in both dining rooms and breakfast.

Only quibble is the room was a bit dark in the evenings...lighting could be better. Also, it was hard to find outlets in convenient locations for chargers. Otherwise, this is a fantastic place.

The hotel is beautifully located in an old castle, and all the surrounding areas (including castle walls) are well maintained. There is plenty of parking on site, and the view from cafe terrace is amazing (and prices are reasonable). We were also lucky to see amazing sunset from the castle walls. While the swimming pool was closed during the season we visited, there were a few nice beaches within walking distance from the parador. Lastly, we enjoyed the breakfast offered by the hotel

Obviously the location is absolutely stunning, the front desk staff and the guy behind the bar were very good, didn't eat in the restaurant but did in the snack bar which was OK, breakfast was fantastic

For the price paid wouldn't say it was a great value but an OK one I guess, the snack bar wait staff were a little green, when you pay a high price for a glass of wine you expect at least 4 fingers not 2, I had to go in and talk to the bar tender who fixed the problem

Great spot with great views. Very nice pool. Friendly helpful staff. Nice breakfast. Lovely gardens. Very interesting decor inside with a variety of places to sit and relax. A bit of a walk to bars, cafes and restaurants in Baiona and a hard walk from the bus station with bags but worth it for it us.

No kettle or tea/coffee in the room.

The location was wonderful, surrounded by its own land and the sea but with easy access to the town. Our sea view room was just that with views across the bay and out to the islands. The building has been beautifully designed with grace and style

The weather! We hit possibly the only two days of rain!

The location was lovely and very Parador worthy. The room was mediocre (but bed very comfortable) but the bathroom and its bathtub divine. I had room and board and will say the meals were quite tasty. The staff was professional. To the sweet young man that came to my room to help me with services (a QR code 🤦‍♀️) please accept my apologies at my frustration. You are the epitome of great service in the face of adversity (me).

The reception is hard to find and far away from the street (I'm a pilgrim) There are NO directories in the rooms and upon request I was given a QR code. For 310 Euro a night you should be able to tell me about laundry availability and if there some services available. The items in the self serve refrigerator were cool at best, certainly not cold.

Everything. We were there to celebrate the 90th birthdays of my in laws. The room was very elder friendly on the ground floor with an accessible shower.

My only minor critique is that the tables in the bar are too small for 4 people to eat comfortably. The other 99.99% was glorious.
