El San Geronimo Hotel

Very spacious, neat room. Good location most places we visited we were able to get there within 15mins or less by car and the beach within 15min walk

People across from us were very loud left their doors open while playing loud music. 2 of the 3 days we put out our sign to have our room cleaned they did not come so we had to let the front desk know. The room was not well vacuumed when we arrived either. Also the breakfast included was just Bagels, cereal and muffins.

the hotel is freezing inside. we turned off our room ac and it was still so cold. also they didn’t provide toiletries until we ask for them. the rooms smell like humidity too.

The location of the hotel is top tier. The landmarks I needed to visit were 10 mins or less away. Ubers were only $7-$10. The beach is about 3 minutes away and it’s beautiful.

The breakfast was below par for the price of the hotel. They only served cereal cups, two options of bagels, toasted bread slices, slices of cheese and meat, and the packaged muffins. Would’ve thought they offered a hot meal with the hotel being as deluxe as it is. Luckily, we had brunch reservations at different restaurants everyday of our stay.

Don't pay attention to the bad reviews, they are from people who don't experience hotels often. The hotel was very nice, well lit, and friendly staff who were attentive to our needs. Yes it is older, but clean. The room was made up, AC worked (had to turn it down) - remember Puerto Rico is always high humidity, expect it. The bathroom very clean. The room small but ok for our one night stay. Quiet - I could not hear any noises from outside the room. Tv worked well. THere is a small serviing area off of the reception, I believe they also serve food, but alcohol also. Breakfast exceeded my expectations more European style - bagels, toast, luncheon meats, cereal, etc. The staff constantly kept re stocking the breakfast (which was free). Surrounding area felt safe. No parking, but there is parking at an old hotel (Normandie) less than a block away. Felt safet walking and the lot had security guard.

Shower head broke while using, but no big deal, we got clean. Water was hot as opposed to some reviews.

The space in the double Queen room is enormous. The big window lets in tons of light. It’s very centrally located. My airport Uber cost less than $15. Only $6 to the furthest point in Old San Juan. There’s a beach and park with playground within walking distance.

The noise from people in the hallway is very clear. My blackout curtains wouldn’t close all the way so I woke up with the sunrise every morning. Other issues I encountered were caused by Hurricane Fiona and shouldn’t be a problem for long. The elevator is out of service, so be prepared to carry your luggage up the stairs. They lost key card making functionality so they temporarily don’t have keys for guests. A staff member had to swipe you into your room every time you left and came back.

Rodney was excellent at check in and every time I saw him, which was often in the two days I spent there. I appreciated the breakfast—it is simple, yes, but it saved me lots of money, since the only nearby options would have been at the Caribe Hilton (which, as we know, does not include breakfast…). The property is close to a park where locals go to exercise, and also has beaches—very nice. My room, the executive double queen, was very spacious (though the bathroom was not). Pillows and bed were quite comfortable; ac worked very well.

The room faced the road and on Friday night/early Saturday some drivers were a bit too enthusiastic about the music volume in their cars… if one is a light sleeper, requesting a room that doesn’t face the road may be advisable. The room could have been a bit cleaner, though the beds were impeccable.

I liked that the hotel was in a good location. We were minutes from old San Juan and most of our activities, and minutes from the beach. The staff was nice and very accommodating. The bed was comfortable.

The standard rooms were very small. The carpets were stained, the walls were scuffed and the window treatments didn't really work. The bathrooms have very odd layouts that often leave the sing in a very uncomfortable area when using the the bathroom in the rooms. The main standing areas were beautiful but the rooms left much to be desired.

it was close to the beach and only minutes away from other areas. the rooms were clean. Had little trouble with the hot water at first but it was because the know was opposite from what I was use to turning for hot water.

wasn’t that I didn’t like, was just a little disappointed with the breakfast. I would like to have had hot breakfast not just cereal, befalls. But I don’t think they had a kitchen for that.

Needed a place to stay the night before a cruise. This fit perfect and price was great. Simple but good continental breakfast. Excellent coffee. This hotel reminded me of places in Europe, small and simple yet worked for our needs.

Room was very small but OK if just staying a night. Would have been tough for a longer stay.
