North South Holiday Park

The park is fabulous if you travel with kids... playground, trampoline, pool are great fun. The cabins are cosy and bathrooms/ kitchen well looked after. The staff is lovely and VERY helpful! A BIG Thanks for everything! Also lovely lakes just around the corner, worth a walk to see the sunset with its magical colors!

Obviously the location is not central, but close to the airport and thanks to the shuttle service very convenient also for people without a car. If you want to see the city centre, obviously a car is useful. I was surprised that the planes didn't bother us at all, even though the airport is close by.

The airport was nearby, a $32 taxi ride. The bathrooms were very clean. The room was clean, and he upgraded us to a larger room, so we had more room for our group to spread out. They had all sorts of housing from campgrounds with hook ups to rooms for the whole family. The playground was fun too. They have a dump station and water fill up as well. The dog in the office is a great bonus.

The showers went cold after a little while, but it got warm again after a few minutes. I’m sure it’s to keep people from wasting water, but I needed more time.

I originally booked a standard cabin with shared facilities. For a little extra I upgraded to a TV cabin with shared facilities. The cabin had a good-sized queen bed with clean sheets and duvets. There was a TV, small fridge, kettle with crockery and utensils along with a tea towel and cloth. It was small but had space for a little table along with benchtop and cupboards. Outside chairs were available to sit on the small verandah. Good ventilation through windows and sliding doors. It was grouped with 5 - 6 others in the same area away from other standard cabins. This afforded some privacy from the rest of the park. The kitchen and bathroom facilities were a short walk away. Well-presented clean and tidy. Staff were accommodating and happy to welcome me. Wifi had good reception where the TV occasionally didn't.

Rumble from airport planes taking off but to be expected being so close to the airport. A better supply of milk capsules in the cabin fridge would be helpful.

Room was simple yet clean. Playground area was good for kids, they enjoyed it. Towels changed out most days. Bathroom was very clean - a must for any accommodation so greatly appreciated. Heater worked well as it's been a surprisingly cold visit to Chch. Pillows and blankets were better than expected. Good sized room. WIFI worked really well the entire stay. Loved the location of close to airport and with a petrol station and BK nearby. Felt very safe too!

More lighting for driving/walking round the facility in the dark would be helpful. Our smoke alarm malfunctioned the first night and they didn't replace it our entire stay so we had no smoke alarm in our room. Tea/coffee/milk wasn't refilled in our stay. Guests in room next to us were very noisy until about midnight each night.

If you want 5 star accommodation with all the trimmings pay big money and go somewhere else. If you are a down to earth kiwi who wants good accommodation, good service at the right price this is the place for you. The room was good size and comfortable for four people. The place was exceptionally clean and well presented and Mark made us feel really welcome even though we arrived late. Well done North South we have been twice and will be back.

We liked everything.

I travelled with a large group; three families, 12 in total. Access to the park was clear and easy to find. A great spot for families to connect but also have space for themselves. Pool was a great bonus as well as the children’s park/play area. Staff were amazing and accommodating. Would highly recommend and definitely come back again.

The only issue I had with my room in particular was that there was no air conditioning. We stayed in summer so I think this is a definite must with NZ summers/temperatures. We did have an electric portable fan, so this was better than nothing and eased the heat in the evening. My group stayed in Standard Studio Room.

I was drawn to the north south holiday park due to its nearness to the airport and its family hours meaning I would actually be able to sleep. I was very pleasantly surprised with the quiet time being respected by all the guests, especially that it was New Year’s Eve! I had planned to walk to the airport the next day but there really isn’t an easy way to do that given you need to use the motorway to get there. The staff were very helpful in advising they do an airport shuttle service from the office for only $5. Very helpful and respectful staff. Highly recommend

I was very happy with my stay

We Absolutely loved the place! There's so much to do for kids so will definitely be bringing them with us next time. The showers were super clean, hot and fantastic pressure omg!!! Better then mine haha Location was perfect, supermarket not far either. The trikes were sooo fun and the bouncy pillow !!!!! So cool!!!!!!

I didn't like i couldn't Stay longer because of home commitments but we will definitely be staying again 💕

Check in was super smooth and they even organized a ride to the airport for us. The room was clean and tidy and the shared kitchen/ laundry room looked well taken care of. We would definitely stay here again if ever we were in transit.

The timed short showers. Im sure they have their reasons but it was a pain having to wait the required time for the shower to reset it's hot water timer. Maybe there is a way to purchase extra shower tokens to avoid this

Staff were friendly and approachable, very helpful & accommodating. Facilities were everything we needed as a couple , we've stayed before with our children and found it just as awesome then too. We will most definitely be staying again next time we are in Christchurch, either by ourselves or with our children. Great value for money also which is always an added bonus. Great showers , I loved the heaters in the bathrooms great for those winter mornings ! Great location! I highly recommend 😀
