The rooms under a bridge with windows to the canal had their charm…

… but it was damp and humid in the rooms, so if you have allergies or asthma one should be aware.

Location, helpful staff and general ambiance and the theme of the hotel. Bed was comfy and quiet.

I know it was an old building but there was no plug for the hairdryer within 5 meters of a mirror. Many of the fittings were cheap quality. There were crumbs on the floor by the bed, there was no plug in the bathroom sink. For the investment of maybe a day of handyman time and some more attention to detail the room would have felt much higher quality.

The interior design was really carefully considered. The furnishings and fittings in the building and in the room were really suited to the building and its history. The size of the room was excellent. If you stay longer in Utrecht, 2 nights or longer, this room is just perfect. The low key reception approach turned out an excellent idea: we could access information and support as required whilst feeling really 'alone' as in enjoying the stay undisturbed. The hotel's location is excellent: you can access the town centre and all the sites with ease whilst really feeling cosy and away from the busy town aspect. The location combined with the car/vehicle restrictions in the town centre made it a really quiet and relaxing stay overall. Cathedral bells were mentioned in one past review and we did not find it being any distraction; it certainly did not impact on the quality of our sleep. To sum up, the building, the quality of the room and the quality of the service received made our stay memorable and we would intend to return to Utrecht in the future. We would highly recommend this establishment.

Parking is an issue in the city as a whole and although the hotel advised us in advance about this and directed us to the nearest one; having stayed in Holland in the past, this car park is by far the most expensive one (40 euros per 24hrs - a higher fee then expected). If the hotel can recommend other, more accessible and cheaper alternatives, that would be really helpful and we could stay longer. We needed to plan it into our costs.

Very nice renovation and interior design of the rooms. Excellent location. Good size rooms. Decent bathroom, tiny toilet. Romantic place.

There is a basic breakfast basket and Sunday we could order eggs, but we probably would have enjoyed eating out better. Monday breakfast was super basic and not comparable to the Sunday version and staff was not easy to find. We can understand it's not a full fledged hotel experience, but given the price point we expected a slightly better service. Nearest car park is 10 min walk, no issue, just be clear about it in the marketing materials when booking.

The hotel‘s location was perfect for exploring Utrecht, and it was walking distance to the main train station (~15 min). Our room was huge, the bed was comfortable, and the hotel itself was very well decorated and full of character which we loved.

We noticed the hotel floors were quite creaky and we could hear our upstairs neighbors walking around at night and in the morning which did wake us up (however, the hotel does provide ear plugs for guests to use). The snacks/drinks in the mini fridge are also all extra, they were not included with the price of the room.

The location is great. the rooms are gorgeous and ver spacious. The hotel is gorgeous. It’s Victorian style even though it’s an old building it’s been renovated; it’s just that like any old building it’s very very noisy when people are walking above you or in the hallway.

for the cost per night, I think the breakfast should be included. It was €225 per night during the month of May which is not even a high season. 17 euros for breakfast which from what I saw was nothing special lots of bread and a few fruits.

In fact our apartment wasn't exactly located in Hotel Beijers but like 100 m apart from main hotel in building called Sluijmer Huis. It isn't exactly 2 bedroom studio as advertised but rather 2 apartments with common entrance, separated by round stairs. It wasn't a problem at all because we were informed before and agreed. For those who don't know, Sluijmer Huis is a special modern building in Utrecht, situated on land of dimensions 3x5 m with a bit of history. It has direct view to Drif Canal outside the window. Interior is loft style.

Location is perfect, right behind Utrecht Dom in the city center - everything is within 5mins reach. The hotel is in a beautiful building dating back to 1600s, decorated with good taste. The (double) room we had was very comfortable, quiet and clean, in traditional yet modern style and offering all amenities (coffee and tea, mini bar, hair dryer, iron and ironing board). Staff was very friendly and polite.

There was no second key available for our room and main hotel entrance, which was inconvenient l as I was travelling with a friend and we could not be completely independent if one wanted to go back earlier than the other. The building does not have an elevator, which can be an issue for people with disabilities or families with strollers.

The size of the room was extraordinary large. The box spring bed was super comfortable. The historical high ceilings and wooden blinds.

In summer it might get warm as there is no air conditioning. The breakfast which they offer optional is not very special and I would go find the next cafe or bar in the future.

The cellar suite is really special. A weird folding stable door leads down some steps to a large vaulted room with a really good en-suite bathroom. The bed is huge and extremely comfortable and the mini bar is well stocked and actually fairly reasonably priced.

The steps and door might a little bit of a challenge to negotiate when you come back to your room from the bar late at night. I didn’t mind this at all and it just added to the adventure, but it wouldn’t suit someone with mobility problems.
