Hotel Victoria Oaxaca

Liked the staff, the menu and convenience of the restaurant on the premises, the large and well-kept grounds with lush vegetation, and the quiet being away from downtown.

We are physically challenged elderly couple, and it was difficult to descend to the restaurant, or even further down to the pool area. Please think about installing an elevator at least to the dining room. Also the shuttle service to downtown has very limited hours during the week, and it is time to replace the old bus which barely makes it back up the hill and is liable to break down one of these days. Finally, there was no fridge or microwave in the room, so I had to store some medication with the front desk, who brought it out very graciously every evening.

This was perfect hotel for us. The rooms and beds were comfortable and quiet. The staff are all superb, friendly, and very helpful; we received high quality service at all times. The property is beautiful; the trees and grounds are well kept and are filled with colourful birds (and some big squirrels). I birdwatched every morning. The restaurant buffet is fabulous - entrees change daily and you can sit above the garden and enjoy the view. We ate in the hotel bar a few times. They will let you order from the restaurant menu and you will have an amazing view of the city centre. I enjoyed the swimming pool every day. Several days a week, the hotel offers a bus that will take you to the centre in the evening and bring you back to the hotel. Honestly, I can't say enough good things about Hotel Victoria. It was terrific.

I can't think of anything. OK. You need to walk 25 minutes or take a cab to the centre of town. This includes crossing some busy streets - just do it carefully and you'll be fine. We love to walk so it wasn't a negative. Also, we found safe and enjoyable routes so this became part of what we loved about our stay.

Breakfast was excellent. I think that the property is not handicap friendly. Was difficult to go down to the swimming pool.

I think it needs to be handicap friendly. Should have a cashier to withdraw money. Couldn't buy the beautiful things you had because of lack of money. I believe that you should let us charge to my credit card. Also rooms should have king size beds. The hotel overall needs some upgrades. Such as paint. There was only 2 coffee mugs and we were 3 people in the room. Asked for an additional coffee mug and it took I believe 3 days to get one. Same thing for the water bottle. Only 2 bottles were left. Asked for an additional bottle and we never received it.

Love this hotel. Its like a mini retreat from the hustle of Oaxaca City. I stayed in Centro near Zocolo twice and the noise and fumes get intense. The view of the city from these rooms is incredible.

Would love a mini fridge in the room. And the shuttle to/from downtown reinstated would be great whenever that is feasible. Otherwise, not much to improve, its a nice, good value hotel.

The amenities were great, for example, their restaurant and bar terraza. The food at the restaurant is very good. The atmosphere and selection at the bar terraza is very pleasant. We usually finished our nights at the bar terraza. Also, most of the staff/employees are very attentive and welcoming. They always help you with calling for a taxi. The pool looks amazing, although we didn't swim because the weather was just not hot enough, plus I had work to attend to. Overall, the place is very clean, the views are nice, and it's a great hotel and location.

We had problems with the television. We called once for help, and they did send someone to fix it. However we had problems with it again. In the end, we decided not to mess with it anymore and we just ended up not watching any TV. Which honestly, it was a nice break not to watch TV, so we didn't mind too much. Also, I think a few things felt outdated in the room, but it was clean and nice, so again, it wasn't a deal breaker at all.

The staff were very friendly and always willing ty help.The rooms were clean and comfortable.

There was a highway near the hotel which was a bit noisy from the location of our room. It was not noticeable with the patio door closed. It was a bit far from the downtown area so we had to take a taxi to leave and return to the hotel. You probably could have walked to the city center and taken a taxi back but it was hot when we were there.

The service and attention of the staff at Hotel Victoria is impeccable. Friendly, helpful and eager to assist. The hotel has elegant 'bones' - must have been stunning in its early days. The pool is amazing! Perfectly clean and a fantastic refuge from the heat. The hotel is nestled in lovely trees and shrubs. The buffet breakfast is excellent. Lots of selection, hot &cold food, and lots of fruit.

The room was dated. Air conditioning was working but noisy. Bed was a bit hard for our liking but honestly the staff and setting far outweighed the downsides for us.

From start to finish the service was great! Ample parking on site, ( no extra charge). Restaurant food was delicious, I would definitely make it my go to place in July when the Guelaguetza arrives!

The only dislike was that we were 4 and 1 of us had to sleep on the floor due to room being small, that a sofa bed was not available for accommodations. But we did what we could to make it comfortable.

Breakfast was amazing. Pool was lovely but a little cold. Staff at the door were super helpful with bags and taxis. All staff very friendly and helpful.

Check in could have been more helpful we wanted 2 beds in a standard room but were refused. We had to upgrade and pay more for another room. Transport into town was very infrequent. Not very helpful running only hourly.

We liked most everything about our stay. The entire property is clean, staff are professional and friendly, the beds are very comfortable and we enjoyed the view of the city.

We found the restaurant to be over priced and the food mediocre. A suggestion for improvement would be to have a small refridgerator in each room.
