Hallmark Regency Hotel - Johor Bahru

The first day we came, the staff gave us room without window . And we think the hotel was an old building, with limited facility . So we came to the reception and complaint about the room and told that we want to cancel the next day booking . The reception then offer us the other room, which is more spacious and have window, she also said we will lost our money if we cancel the next day staying . So we decided to continue our staying there with unhappy feeling. But then we found out this old hotel was very EXCELLENT, the room was really CLEAN, the floor was clean, no dust, complete EQUIPTMENT and TOILETRIES, the FOOD STALL just behind the building,the foods were delicious, variatif, the location was really NEAR to JB central, KSL mall, by grab is only 7 to 10 RM. WALKING DISTANCE to Pelangi Mall. To Legoland was only 20 RM. The price of the room was including BREAKFAST, very cheap. The breakfast menu were the same everyday but we like it all, delicious and variatif. We love their KAYA JAM, their WAFFLES were crispy and smell good. We booked for 3 adults and 1 child ,so we had free breakfast for 4 people. Excellent. Really BUDGET worth it. But unfortunately when we plan to continue to book hourly as our flight was late at night on the third day, they didn't accept it because the rooms all has fully booked. Now we understood that this hotel was really good and people like it so much . I really RECOMMENDED this hotel.

They didn't have adapter for 2 holes charging . So we need to buy adapter at the mall.

Hotel was more than expected everything was good, breakfast was good staffs were friendly and helpful.

Parking was a problem had to park a bit far from the hotel throughout the day. At night got ample parking.

i got a surprise room upgrade so i am thankful. Room is clean and quiet. Had a great night of sleep. Bathtub in toilet is big as well, can fit 2.

the aircon blows straight at the bed in the center of the room.

clean, big room, functioning aircond, tv, hairdryer and watee heater, high pressure water for the toilet and bathroom. Bath gel, shampoo, toothbrush and toothpaste were provided. Nice beds too! Got space to perform prayers for Muslims too, got extra pillows, the aircond air was soft.

No free parking, no buffet due to covid 19 sop restriction and I could not eat more, room is not soundproof and can hear people from inside, some channels on tv are not clear, flat tone staff at the reception (maybe he was tired), water in the bathroom sink couldn't flow smoothly, hot water from the water heater only lasted for a while but usable.

So, so..the ikan bilis tool hard n too dry...no daun bawang, may be CNY it's expensive, the sambal too hot, mee too hot, kuih cecodok .too hard, curry puff..very nice.... all the staff in cafe friendly , smiling n very courteous..overall food satisfactory

everything is good and comfortable in the room, comes with hair dryer and window. location was very good nearby to KSL and hawker below.

the breakfast was not so good just average, the mini fridge in the room like not cold maybe because just turn on not too long.

Impressive for a 3* hotel. Our family room was big! Comes with a big bath tub and spacious toilet. Comparing to some 4/5* hotels, does not have them or a tad smaller. Had the necessary toilet kit. Fridge was stocked with drinks, extra mineral water. Maggi cup noodles, etc. Ironing board and laundry services. Aircon is cold! Outside near lift lobby have hot & cold water dispenser. Some 4/5* hotels don't even have it. 👍🏼👏🏼 Simple but sufficient 'spread' of breakfast. For the price I paid for 4 pax, it was 👍🏼👍🏼 Nothing was broken or out of place. Staff ensured parking was taken care of in case MBJB comes around. Keycard security works as compared to a 5* hotel we went before, that could access all floors without using key card. This is commendable. 👍🏼 Family is very happy with the stay, in fact all of us in 1 room for a night, kept us close together. We could forego the privacy issue. We would like to be back for our next staycay, if possible. 😘

Nothing really. You just cannot ask for more at the price you're paying, or what I paid, really.

location was great, easy to get taxi to town. room and toilet are pretty big for family of 5. breakfast was good for RM15/head for adults and RM8 for children. staff at counter and the concierge was super friendly and very helpful

I stayed for around 3 weeks at this hotel. Mostly for business and exploring both Johor and Singapore. Will stay again. I worked comfortably with my laptop every evening. Amazing hospitality, I loved daily breakfast so much, and I had great pricing as a loyal Booking customer. Huge room, everything is modern, clean and they clean it every day. Awesome views, location. Bus stop next to you. 10min drive from the Singapore checkpoint or just by bus/Grab (taxi). 10min walk to a KSL mall which is one of the main malls in the JB with a lot of things to do. This hotel doesn't have a laundry service. You can get it at KSL mall. You can buy a ManjaLink card at this mall for public transport. Walking distance to Youth Centre and a huge park with some gardens. It is like a mini version of the Botanical Gardens. Every Monday evening entire road to KSL mall becomes a market with a lot of cheap food to buy. If you will need cash to pay for the deposit and travel tax, ATM at Standard Chartered JB Branch across the road from the hotel and to the east. I extended my stay. Do so through Booking because the price is way better. Definitely visit R&F Mall, Opera House, promenade, and all that area near the bridge to SG.
