Park Hotel Kyoto

Lovely property just off the beaten path. Staff was helpful and accommodating. Rooms are small (as anticipated) but were quiet; beds were comfortable and climate control was good. The shower was a good size and had great water pressure. Of course, the toilets were amazing. There's a small refrigerator, and you can find a community microwave on floor 2 where the laundry machines are (they're top loaders and they work great). The reception area on the main floor has several seating areas which are lovely for hanging out in. The metro is a 3-minute walk away (there's a Starbucks down there before the pay gates). In the other direction you can walk to Nijō Castle. There's also a place nearby to rent bikes.

There's nothing to dislike per se. We didn't do the breakfast at the hotel and found it a bit challenging to find nearby cafes that opened early and served Western breakfast items, but this was a personal choice and it wasn't a dealbreaker. There are some lovely local bakeries with coffee, and you can buy yogurt, etc. from the Family Mart or Fresco nearby.

Great hotel, contemporary feel and great location. Rooms were clean, gym fitness is quite small but still okay to use. I would recommend staying here. Wasn't too expensive and staff were friendly and accommodating. Really good location for shopping and attractions

I didn't not like anything. Only minor - The fitness centre didn't have too much equipment so would be good to have a treadmill in there but it did the trick. They had freehand weights which was great and a Ski Erg too.

Modern and clean. Friendly and professional staff. Breakfast was simple and good. The bar looked like a nice place to relax in the evening but we were travelling with children so had no chance to use it.

The location was a little further from the thick of the tourism action than I would have preferred. But others may appreciate the peace. The room didn't have a wardrobe and only had single rail for hanging your clothes. Additional shelves in the room and bathroom would have been perfect.

The hotel is about 200m from the metro stop. The room was very nice and modern. The room's equipment also includes a stylish kimono for every guest, in which you can rest comfortably.

You usually have two options for breakfast - Japanese and European version. The breakfast was tasty, but it would be nice if the hotel offered more options and not only choice from 2 identical breakfast menus every day. I think it's not such a big problem to make a daily (or each other day) slightly different soup or change the pancaces to a different type of sweet pastry so that the guests have some change. Minimum effort, maximum effect.

- Great location. 3 min walk from the station, very close less than 10mins walk from convenient stores, pharmacies, shopping malls and mcdonalds - very pleasant staff. always willing to help and make sure the stay was comfortable - free complimentary drinks (coffee and tea) - luggage storage available - clean rooms and comfortable beds we felt very safe during our stay and would definitely come back again! thank you for making our kyoto stay a memorable one!!

Rooms were very clean. stayed for 5 days and have almost no complaints. the rooms are of decent size and the closest subway station is a few mins by walk and local convenience stores 2-3 mins away. good value for money overall.

All seats at the lobby are not for “non-paying customers”. you have to order something from the cafe/bar to sit at the lobby even while you wait for your cab which you may want to keep an eye out for. The “free” waiting area doesn’t give you any view of the street and doesn’t allow for you to keep an eye on your Uber/taxi.

The Hotel itself is nice, has a modern touch and is clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room is very clean, the size of the room was very good for two, for sure it's not that spacious but it was definitely good enough considering the rooms in Japan are small. The location was excellent in terms of access to the tram lines. As a district it's very calm compared to the other touristic areas. I would book it again in the future.

Location puts you in the thick of things without putting you in the tourist hole. That’s a huge win. It’s a gateway to some jazzy streets, shops and restaurants and super close to the direct line of the subway to Kyoto Shinkansen. Above all else. It’s a decent room. For decent money with decent space for Japan.

Not much. The breakfast is a little average. But you’re not in Kyoto to eat a croissant and drink Nespresso. Get out there! Would recommend.

Great locations, close to subway and walking distance to city center. The TV had netflix on it so I could watch netflix in the evening. Loved the bright and clean room with a clean and big shower/bathroom. Every morning you could drink fresh nespresso coffee with a coupon if you stay in this hotel. What I loved the most: we forgot 2 items in the hotel, but they took the effort to send it back to me to my next hotel. They deserve a good rating.

Room was clean and hotel was well kept. Great location close to train station, restaurants and convenience stores. Also great proximity to tourist attractions like Nijō Castle and Manga museum.

Booking.com did not specify there wouldn't be room cleaning in my package. Hotel were kind enough to offer to clean.
