The room had a great view that overlooks the city. The room was extremely clean and comfortable as well. I like that there are quite a selection of comic books that you can bring into the room. The breakfast was simple but yet satisfying to start the day. The staff accommodated to my request for a room at a higher floor.
Nothing in particular. It was a very good stay.

The hotel is close to a metro station, buses pass in front and 15 minutes walking there is the Nijo JR station. It is well connected despite not being in Kyoto center. The staff was very friendly and checkin was easy. You can borrow books to read in the room. The room was small but with enough space to open the suitcase and with a table and a sofa to have tea. The bathroom was good and clean. The neighborhood is very quiet at night and there are few restaurants but on the corner there is a Lawson and a 7eleven.
The breakfast is a good Bento style but a little repetitive if you stay many days. They could have more Mangas in English

Decent size room for the money. Cafe with free tea and coffee available to guests all day! My room had an amazing view and really joyed making my tea in the room with the provided kettle and looking out at the mountains to start each day. House keeping staff came in and tidied up each morning without requesting it which was a nice touch. Convenience store next door. Bus stop right out the front door.
There is an arcade close by with some great food options but most places close by 7 so not many late night dining options. Would be tough for 2 people in my room with a single bed but it was fine for 1 person.

Room looks like the photo. Bathroom creatively compact but the shower can hold temp. Room will fit 2 comfortably, walkway may get a bit cluttered. Split system is very nice, the blackout blinds work super well too. They have daily cleaning so make sure you put the sign on the door if you don't want that service. Manga library is very nice, you can borrow 10 at a time. Pretty much walking distance to most things in Kyoto main, short train trip to the further out ones.
They only have 1 lift so be prepared to wait a little bit to get to your floor. The beds are very firm.

Lovely hotel in Kyoto, with a beautiful lobby, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. They have hundreds of comic books/manga available for you to read. There's also a coffee machine in the lobby free to use. We booked a stay without breakfast. The Wi-Fi worked well. The bedrooms were decent-sized and comfortable. Everything was well-cleaned, and the shower pressure was great! We had 4 good nights of sleep, a robe and sleepers are provided in the bedroom. Recommended.
The cleaning staff need to pay more attention to the doors, one of the days our bedroom door was left open, and we arrived quite late at night! Nothing was taken but I pointed out the situation to the reception.

The rooms were clean and the location was great. Staff are kind and friendly. The hotel is located right by Nijo Castle and in front of the building are a couple of bus stops that go to major tourist sites and it's ~15 minute walk to the Karasuma Oike subway station. There's also a Lawson and 7-11 next door/across the street, respectively, that are open 24/7. Right next to the Sanjo shopping district with plenty of small, local cafes and shops and a grocery market too. I liked the daily breakfast bento which featured Kyoto flavors and constantly changed each morning. Well worth the price to add on!

Very unique hotel with an immense collection of manga (there are also a few English ones). The room was small but spacious enough for one person, and it was comfortable. The breakfast was always delicious with a variety of products in the bento box. The free coffee was great too. The staff was welcoming and always very friendly. The location is close to the stunning Nijo castle and there are lots of restaurants and convenient stores nearby.
It’s a bit further away from the city center. There is only one elevator so there were times in the morning were I had to wait a while to get down. Despite these small nitpicks I’d gladly stay here again and I had a wonderful time!

Both of the men offered great service. Especially the older sir behind the counter during night shifts! The female personal I had no experience with, outside of the room cleaner (who was very kind too ❤️) Most of the people here were either reading manga's or comics, or were actively chatting to people they just met inside the main lobby! Outside of that they give out lovely free drinks. Please be wary though! The translation saying the sirop is vinegar is slightly off! It turns sour, but only when added in large quantities!

Good-size room for Kyoto, adequate bathroom, cleanliness and service are very good - as expected in Japan
breakfast was monotonous (5 days). after checking out at 11 am I spent another half an hour in the lobby and started reading one of the books on display but was politely told after 15 minutes that the books were only available for guests and I had already checked out. I understand that they may be considered amenities, but this seemed a bit too strict a policy...

The hotel and room itself was beautiful and the bathroom was new and very bright. The lights for the room were also placed near the door and on the headboard, so I did not need to get up to shut off the lights.
The mattress was very hard and the room was extremely dusty, every time I turned on the air con, I would start to sneeze because the dust would start to fly around. My room unfortunately also had the pipes for the water above my ceiling, so I could hear the water go on and off every time someone took a shower at night when I was trying to sleep. It woke me up every night and I had to sleep with earplugs, otherwise the walls were soundproof.
