Amenities, view, very centric location, friendly staff, variety of breakfast for European standards, very nice baths with a view.

When using the baths you need to cover your tattoos with stickers which are provided by the staff, however when using the baths as a EU looking person I felt extremely unwelcome. Baths are separated by gender, for both my boyfriend and myself people were rudely staring at us as if we did not belong there, very unfriendly environment. I could not feel comfortable there and I used them for a while only one day because of the environment. I felt very discriminated.

The room was nice and a good size. Good supply of amenities. The staff spoke very little english and could not assist us in any way. They could not book us a taxi to the station when we had to leave and did not try and help us at all. There is a tram close by which you walk too. Very central location and close to tram to go anywhere. The private onsen on the roof is nice and great supplies provided.

Staff could have been more helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay at Candeo. Comfortable, spacious and clean hotel. Location is great for getting around Hiroshima. It's close to key areas (Peace Museum, A-Dome Building and boat that takes you to Miyajima Island), as well as being close to many good cafes and restaurants. Really nice and affordable hotel!

It's not too close to Hiroshima station, but that's the tradeoff of being close to the key areas in Hiroshima.

A centrally located clean hotel. Room was very comfortable, and the hotel had a very nice inside & outside onsen. Would certainly stay here again.

Breakfast was a little disappointing.

Nice Place overall. However showers were a bit strange. Almost like kind you would have on a cruise ship. We were only there for one night so it was fine.

Superbly located - providing easy access from the train station (just a quick streetcar ride away and near the Hatchobori stop), and with a number of nearby attractions accessible on foot such as the castle, Peace Park, and Okonomimura which is a must for experiencing Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki). The roof level spa was very welcome after a long day of exploring, with great city views.

Room was a bit small for 3 people and their luggage, needed to do a bit of stacking and taking turns moving around the room to get settled - not a major problem though as it does the trick for somewhere to sleep, with most of the time being spent out or in the spa.

Our rooms were on the same floor as requested, and the check in process went smoothly. The on-site breakfast menu is excellent and the spa on the rooftop is quite nice with a sauna and cold pool in addition to indoor and outdoor hot pools. The location is excellent with a 15 minute walk to Peace Park and a 5 minute walk to the main shopping district in Hiroshima.

The breakfast room is small; if you don't get there early expect to wait for a table. The coffee machine was broken the first morning we had breakfast there. There was some problem reserving a taxi for our airport departure that the staff was unable to resolve. We got lucky and were able to hail a taxi ourselves quickly, although someone we were travelling with took much longer to hail their taxi. Rooms were on the small side even by Japanese standards.

Location of the hotel was absolutely perfect. Quiet but close to all the main areas. Loved the sofa by the window and the high floor. Also the onsite Onsen was perfect.

The bed in our room was ridiculously large. I would have preferred a slightly smaller bed and more floor space. Also, some extra storage would be nice. A few shelves maybe to place your clothes on. The rooms is starting to show signs of ware and tear. Also the bathroom was not the cleanest - there was noticeable mould around the bath( didn't use it, thanks to the onsen).

The buffet breakfast was served in a restaurant with sweeping views of Hiroshima and the surrounding Hills. The breakfast was also sumptuous (though as a vegetarian, I only had the vegetarian options). The Baths/Spa was excellent (though frequently crowded) with a Sauna and an Outdoor Bath overlooking the City. The room was the right size (and rather large by Japanese budget standards). The bathroom was a bit small though (but standard Japanese budget hotel size). The location was close to the Hatchobori Tram Station and indeed within walking distance of the Atomic Bomb Dome. It really is great value for money. I wished I stayed a day longer just to rest and recuperate in this Hotel after running all around Honshu Island in the two weeks previously!

The elevators were constantly delayed. There are only two elevators and there is a long wait for them every single time. The laundry room has a washer-cum-dryer which takes too much time and does not dry effectively even after that. I put it in an additional dry cycle after the first round of washing and drying - and that barely changed anything, the clothes were still wet (a bit).

Breakfast was the most diverse of our trip. Self-service with a lot of European and Asian options prepared to a high standard. Everything from muesli to chicken curry, with a range of salad options as well. Both reception and breakfast are on floor 13 with great views over the city. Japanese robes were provided and we could breakfast in them to feel even more relaxed. Room was especially quiet.

Our room at the smaller end of European standards with one side of the double bed against the wall. But we made the choice of what size to pay for so no problem there. It was well laid out and warm, bed was great to sleep on.
