Grand Hotel Gardone

Beautiful hotel - full of character and old world charm. It is located right on the Lake front and sitting on the balcony watching the sunrise/sunset was stunning. The rooms have been modernised and are comfortable with more than ample storage space. The pool area has ample sun beds and the whole area is kept immaculately clean.The staff are amazing - from the reception team to the waiting staff and the housemaids, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is located right next to the ferry jetty and getting around the Lake was incredibly easy from the hotel, particularly with the discount cards given on arrival by the reception team. All in all, this is one of those hotels you should visit, even if only for the experience. Absolutely wonderful.

The only very small gripe is that there are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room but the hotel is so beautiful that it really wasn’t a problem. The area itself may be a little quiet for younger people but there are a variety of restaurants in the area and the ferry is right next door to the hotel so visiting other resorts is easy.

Just loved the faded glam! Please do not change the vibe! The details are amazing! The old wooden floors, panels, lamps, furniture and garden makes it all so special! Our suite was so spacious and with a large balcony from where you could se the piazza and the lake.

Some of the younger female staff could smile a little bit more and the breakfast was good enough, but not fantastic. The young guy in the reception was very welcoming😊

The Hotel is very large and spreads out laterally along Lake Garda. We first got a room a long walk from the main dining room and breakfast area. When I told them I had just had a knee replacement. They immediately moved me to a room very close in. Both rooms had wonderful balconies looking at the Lake, but our final room was so very much easier for me.

The staff was really friendly, but especially in the restaurant they didn’t have a clue what they were doing. The music during breakfast was completely out of style with the ambiance. Also during the evenings there was a lot of loud music from neighboring venues.

Great hotel. It has real character and charm. The staff were very helpful and polite. Loved the bar area, pool, ample sunbeds and very clean. The views from our room, breakfast and dinner area, outside terrace were amazing.

There is no iron in the rooms, we had to pay for any garments we needed ironing. we were attending a wedding so charges soon mounted up. The steam room and sauna are very old. Our room was very far from the reception, breakfast / dinning areas. The lifts needs to be modernised. Small bottles of water in the mini fridge are not enough, complimentary water should be provided throughout the hotel. Not recommended for families

The location of the hotel is perfect and my family spent the bulk of our time (3 nights total) swimming in the lake and eating at the nearby restaurants. The lake was perfect.

Do not, under any circumstances, eat dinner at the hotel restaurant. We made this mistake on our first night and it was by far the worst meal we had in Europe (to the tune of 45euro/person). The food was all the same consistency (across many different entrees) and was woefully bland.

Beautiful historic hotel on the lake side in Gardone Riviera. We had two rooms with balcony and lake views which was stunning. Rooms were comfortable. Air conditioning worked well. Buffet breakfast excellent and location of eating on terrace amazing. Pool and surrounding area well kept and comfortable. Could swim directly into lake also which was lovely. Restaurants beside lake just outside hotel grounds were reasonable value and again with an amazing location. Ferry stop just outside hotel. Son used gym and said good ( and he is fussy..). About to shut for complete re development. I can see why as now probably needed to keep up with modern taste. But this didn’t detract from our experience at all; it is a traditional lakeside hotel and should be taken as such. Staff were polite, helpful and always attentive. Thank you Grand Hotel Gardone. There are no facilities in your room for coffee or tea, if you want a hot drink in room it’s chargeable. Given the price of a room this I find this unacceptable.

Location is wonderful. Our room was very comfortable and had a balcony overlooking the lake. Parking is a bonus but it is chargeable. The ambience of the hotel is lovely and the pool bar staff are very friendly and welcoming with a relaxed but professional manner. Food was lovely. Breakfast was wonderful and we managed to secure an outside table each morning overlooking the lake. Service at breakfast was extremely good. Very tentative team.

The young lady who first greeted us was very smiley, friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, she was promptly ushered out the back mid check-in, only for us to be left waiting. Eventually a more flustered and very busy team member was told to "deal" with us! Slightly spoilt our experience. Everything else was wonderful.
