Hotel Palace Bologna Centro

The palace hotel has a wonderful convenient location close to anything he would need well there. It was clean they made up the room every day and the water was hot. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

I booked this hotel because it had an elevator and I have a bad knee. The fifth floor rooms economy rooms which are very small but adequate do not have elevator access. There are 12 steps without a handrail to get to them from the main fifth floor where the elevator is.

Super loud 4D cinema. the entire hotel was shaking and I could hear everything from the movies.

Great location, near to Piazza Maggiore. Spacious triple room with good sized bathroom and comfortable beds. Pleasant and helpful staff. Nice lounge and reception. Breakfast good (apart from the scrambled egg). Reasonably quiet location.

Decor could do with a revamp, but for the most part it wasn’t a problem. The safe didn’t work in our room but then I didn’t report it either. Room was cleaned every day but underneath the beds had been neglected! Air conditioning worked . . . just.

The location was just so perfect! We got room 511 on the 5th floor and it was super silent, with air conditioning. Everything was working properly and comfortable bed. We were on a work trip for a conference and everything was perfect! Food at breakfast was also good

The smell in the corridor, perhaps removing all carpets and replacing it with something that can be cleaned :)

I had the pleasure of staying at this exquisite historic hotel mid Aug for 8 nights and there is not one single thing I could complain about. Reception is open 24/7 and the staff are very friendly and welcoming – I was always met with a smile and quite often, my key as I became more familiar with the staff – what a great team – a real credit to Palace Hotel! Reception area is nothing short of wonderful and has a relaxed vibe. The photos don’t do it justice! There are two reception foyers (adjoining) and there is a coffee machine at the back of the second one. I had breakfast included and enjoyed it every day – staff were kept very busy keeping all stations replenished with hot option of scrambled eggs and bacon along with all the standard European buffet breakfast fayre – a great selection to choose from and set me up well for the day – and my first taste of mortadella – yum! The staff in the breakfast room also did a swift and efficient job of clearing and re-setting tables and it was never a problem to find a table, no matter what time I arrived – breakfast served 7am till 10.30am – another great team and an asset to the hotel. My room on the 5th floor (with air-con) was bigger than I expected and well set out with a TV, a safe (with clear operating instructions) and a bed as comfortable as my own at home! All in all a fantastic hotel!!

Staying in this hotel was a wonderful experience! I guess people who rate it low are used to very modern accommodations and therefore do not appreciate this cute, vintage hotel. Actually, I would cry if it would change and get modernized because I see it as a relic of the past that remembers its glory and it is beautiful. All the services worked fantastic: detailed and helpful information before arrival, 24-hour reception, very friendly and helpful staff, AC working perfectly, the best location in the city and a great view from the window. :) This hotel made me feel stepped back in time and I loved it. Besides, it has a really great price!

Pression that this is rated one store too low. It’s knight brand new flashy and shiny but when it was built it was probably for stores. It’s well-maintained and clean and has everything that a traveler wants. Specifically comfortable bed clean sheets nice towels and hot water. Beautiful location especially if you use public transportation as I do. And there are wonderful frequent bus lines to and from the central train station where you can catch the monorail to the airport. An Uber ride to the station is around $10. The best thing is immediately out the door to the right is the best gelato in the city and out the door to the left is one of the top rated restaurants In Bologna. What else do you need?

Breakfast good, location good staff friendly and professional, rooms could have done with air conditioning, radiator in bathroom leaking, would be great if they had had a bar downstairs as lots of room to facilitate it

The location is absolutely perfect and my room and bathroom were very large. It’s a real hotel and the front desk is always staffed. It has a history of being the private residence of a noble family, and it has also been a hospital before. 

The carpets really needs replacing. They are not dirty, but they are loose and make it look rather shabby. Also, my toilet seat was broken.

Well-situated to center of town and Piazza Maggiore. Very friendly staff, good breakfast (recommend including in reservation). Rooms basic, but comfortable.

Room wasn't air-conditioned, but large window opened, so air flow was nice. Would have preferred double bed to twin (or two twins put together), but bed was still comfortable.
