Hotel Cavour

Hotel Cavour is an excellent hotel situated in the heart of the historic centre with exceptional service. The staff are very friendly and helpful especially Franco always pointing us in the right direction with a friendly smile. The rooms are very spacious with comfortable beds. A lovely buffet breakfast is served each morning in the dining room with lots of variety including hot food. Hotel happy to hold luggage after checkout and always happy to call us a taxi. Great restaurants opposite and next door. We will definitely be staying here again.

Location of the hotel is just fantastic, walking distance everywhere and nearby the bars and restaurants but in a quiet street. The hotel looks nice, and the room was quite big and comfortable. Staff was also very friendly.

The AC did not quite work, it connected once you add your card in the room and it says 21 degrees but you can't change it. It surely wasn't 21 degrees it was incredible hot in the room, we could not sleep because of the heat and were quite sweaty even after shower. There is a huge contrast with the AC temperature in the hall and the heat in the room. For a June vacation at +30 degree this was a big negative point. Also I would recommend not to pay for breakfast, it is very very basic and you can just go to any cafeteria nearby and have a great coffee and big croissant for just 2 euros.

The hotel is very well located and served us a breakfast buffet that is abundant and varied. The rooms are of ample size. Overall, we think the hotel is a good value for money for us and we three would definitely recommend the hotel and would stay here when visiting Bologna.

The beds were on the slightly hard side the three of us all thought. The breakfast, while varied and of ample size, the croissants, while good, did not seem to be as of excellent quality compared with other Italian cities we visited. The breakfast servers were not as attentive to replenishing the food trays as in other similar priced hotels in other Italian cities.

Hotel Cavour is quiet, though very near the center of everything. The room was nice, the bathroom especially so. Breakfast was good, with a nice variety of options.

Our bathroom had no air conditioning vent, so we opened the top of the window opposite the shower to take out some of the humidity after showering. When going to the bathroom at night the bathroom was warm and somewhat stuffy as a result. In very old buildings there are always challenges, so this was a minor inconvenience.

Bed linen, towels extremely clean and snow white. Excellent central location beside tourist attractions and restaurants. 10/15 mins walk to Bologna Centrale train station and Marconi Express to airport. Nice breakfast. Friendly staff.

Room temperature quite hot. Air conditioning unit did not cool room. Had to open window for air but unfort then kept awake by.noise in laneway and passers-by. Scuff marks on walls; could do with a scrub with cream cleaner/fresh paint. Large hole in curtain.

Location

Parking - we got lucky with the Parking but still were a bit worried because the homeless people living in the near. The city is beautiful but has a different charm when compared to Venice or smaller cities or the coast. Breakfast needs improvement but then again Italians are well known for eating less in the morning. It does not need to be fancy, just more diverse fruit and vegetables. The eggs were a bit weird...I don't think most Hotels offer Bio/Organic quality. I guess we have become more picky but than again in certain countries it is a standard.

Great central location in Bologna within a few mins walk to all main attractions. The hotel was an oasis in the city, clean, calm and quiet. Our room was very large and modern with good toiletries, dressing gowns, hairdryer etc etc which you don’t always get in a 3star. We didn’t expect such a large room based on the dimensions given on the website. Comfy bed and good linens. A small outside courtyard was good to relax with a drink before dinner. The hotel helped pre book a taxi to the vineyards which was much appreciated as i had been struggling personally and they got us a great driver at a reasonable price.

It was very good but a few areas for improvement: - breakfast - the warm selection was poor and was not refreshed very often throughout the morning. the colder pastries and meats etc were excellent so a small area for improvement. Our air conditioning could only be on or off, no control over power level so whilst it was very effective it was also quite noisy ( i didn’t tell the hotel so in fairness they may have been able to fix this)

The hotel was beautiful, in a fabulous spot right in town! Out the front door and our favorite restaurant in Bologna is Franco Rossi. The four of my family all liked their meal and that’s unusual. The staff were friendly and helpful, the cleanliness was great! The balcony was my favorite so beautiful to sit and eat lunch. The marble stair and decor beautiful. Loved this place!!!!!!!!

The fruit salad could be more soft fruits like kiwi, melons and berries

Great location for anyone wanting to stay in the old city. Very close to twin towers, walking distance to markets. Staff were very helpful with suggestions on where to go or where to eat.

Breakfast, this was the worst run hotel breakfast that we have been at. Scrambled eggs and bacon (if any) cold. Both times that we had the breakfast there was either no bacon, cold meat and cheese’s slim to no croissants but always there were staff around looking into the empty containers then closing the lids walking away but coming back in 4to 5 minute intervals lifting the lid again and checking if by miracle that it was full again. Most funny to watch.

We were in Bologna for the F1 race in Imola -- which was cancelled due to flooding. The hotel suffered a lot of cancellations, so we were able to get our room upgraded for free! Great room! Great breakfast!

Bologna was not our favorite city. A lot of graffiti everywhere! It was very disappointing. With our 2 extra days from the cancellation of the F1 race, we took the train to Modena 1 day, and to Parma the next.
