Brandon House Hotel

Anita at check in was an absolute pleasure. She is a credit to and an asset to the hotel. The management should reward her for her excellent demeanour, attention to detail, efficiency, friendliness and her all round helpful attitude. All the bar staff were so friendly no long queues at the bar and so helpful. Breakfast was brilliant, very clean, well run and plenty of choice my 3 children loved it. The fresh omelettes, waffles and fried eggs were excellent and a great addition. Allison who ran breakfast was an absolute lady and again excellent at her job, she couldn't have done anymore for us. Her staff at breakfast were so attentiveabd pleasant. The hotel exceeded our expectations and we will definitely return. The rooms, the pool, sauna and changing rooms were all excellent. Thank you

The only thing I have to complain about was 1 of the cleaning staff who were doing the rooms. She was unhelpful, everything was an issue, I asked for fresh cups in the room she handed me 2 empty cups but hadn't cleaned out any of the dirty dishes which I pointed out to her. She ignored me and I ended up having to take the full tray of dirty dishes from the room to the bar myself. She was both rude and unhelpful.

The staff were very good. Food was excellent. location great.

Found beds a little uncomfortable. Had a lot of noise from nearby rooms but can't blame hotel for that.

The library restaurant food was good but the some of the table locations for 2 people were in places near bar, doorways etc & had staff, guests walking pass regularly. The room was good but i felt the decor was a little dark. The bathrooms are excellent & the supply of toiletries was great & the wine & water left on our arrival. All staff were very polite & helpful.

The breakfast was OK but we could have been informed by a menu or staff what the options were as I thought it was only what was on the buffet section. I was disappointed with the scrambled eggs but later found out I could have asked for other types of eggs or got pancakes etc. I felt that the breakfast cooked items were not as good quality as when I stayed in August 2022.

This the staff were so nice and could not help you enough to cleaners were so kind and checked in every morning to ask us do we need fresh towels the swimming pool was excellent beautiful I recommend this hotel to anybody as this hotel was 100% beautiful inside and outside

The grounds outside we're beautiful the kids had amazing time in the park and on the grounds there was a lot for us to do we had meael absolutely amazing as my two boys are so fussy they actually eat every bit of food we've been in so many hotels All Around Ireland and this was one of the best🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

The pool was the highlight of the stay. Every year myself and my son go to a place that has a pool as we swim almost 3 times a day due to not being able to for the rest of the year. The 1.2 and 1.4m dept in the entire pool was fantastic as when it got busy my son was confident in any part of it. My son was thrilled there was Netflix and YouTube in the room for free.

The restaurant was very busy with none residents but as it was just 2 of use seating wasn’t an issue. The staff were very attentive but very busy. There is no lift only stairs so I am glad my 85yr old dad didn’t join us in the end.

Had a wonderful 2 night stay. This hotel has the most welcoming, friendly and attentive staff I have come across. From altering my accommodation with Chris via phone nothing was too much trouble, to the lovely bar staff especially the server Aisling who was extremely pleasant and friendly to the lovely warm welcome received from Alison for early morning breakfast. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff to help you with. The food in the bar was fantastic. Also the lovely Grace and Aoife were so helpful and accommodating with our booking in the amazing Solas Croi Spa. This is a must do if visiting the hotel. The treatments, facilities and staff are wonderful. You will 100% feel relaxed, pampered and revitalised leving here. Would definitely recommend this hotel for a relaxing , peaceful getaway. Hope to return very soon.

Lovely hotel , very homely feel to it. The staff were very friendly especially the reception staff and the leisure centre staff. The pool area is very clean, and a great size. My kids had loads of fun. Breakfast was really good, with a lovely selection. The waffles were excellent and a real treat for the kids, they loved the self service waffle station. Breakfast staff were also very friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay of three nights, and found the location suited us perfectly.

Great location and very friendly staff. There has obviously been some refurbishment in the main hotel with walls repainted and bathrooms upgraded since we were here last. Food in the main restaurant is excellent. Bar menu is good but a bit more variety would be nice. Kids club available from 10 until lunch and again in the evening was a godsend when the weather was too bad to venture out. Fantastic breakfast which has been upgraded a lot since we were last here and has a brilliant selection for anyone who doesn't like the standard Irish breakfast option of fried food. Fresh breads and pastries, fruit, yoghurt, granola, meats, cheeses and salmon plus a waffle and omelette bar. Good size pool and nice layout for kids. Fantastic hot showers in pool area, perhaps to make up for the slightly chilly pool water!

Jacuzzi at pool was out of order and we were told by locals that it has been like that for a while. Hard to contact spa and couldn't get any slots for treatment which was disappointing. Left a phone message but no one called me back. Got a slot for the thermal suite which was great but some features out of order and the whole thing could do with a bit of paint. It looks a bit worn. No towels available in the spa changing room so only option for drying after shower is the towel you have carried around the spa which is soaking by the time you get back to the changing room. Strong smell of damp in the kids club room. Pool a bit cold!

There was a wedding reception on the Saturday evening spreading into the car park under our bedroom window. There didn’t appear to be a private area for the wedding receptions held at the hotel, with part of the steps and car park immediately outside the reception area cordoned off with mobile metal railings for tables and chairs so it was quite noisy. No lift which could be difficult for those with mobility problems. Slow service in the restaurant.

Great location , decor and staff

Early morning family rush to the swimming pool could be clearly heard from the room and meant it was another early morning awakening, instead of the planned relaxing sleep-in. Maybe best to put couples only in one area/floor away from family rooms
