The Tower House B&B0

This is a beautiful and unique establishment. It is a renovated ancient Tower House on the banks of the river Nore. Trisha and Michael, the proprietors/managers, are a wondeful couple who have a long history in the hospitality industry in Ireland. This is evidenced in their attitude to their guests; no request is refused, even whims are considered! The guest rooms, which overlook the old courtyard, are immaculate, and are serviced by all the utilities which one would expect in an establishment of this nature. Breakfast is of Haute Cuisine standard, prepared by a lady who is herself qualified to that level. The choice on the menu leaves most guests struggling to make a decision! We have dined in many restaurants in Europe whose dinner menu would pale in comparasion to breakfast in The Tower House, Thomastown! We highly recommend this exceptional place.

Absolutely nothing to dislike!

Lovely place to stay. Old historic building yet modern bedrooms. Everything you would need in the bedroom. Like a hotel. Yummy breakfast cooked to order. Delicious coffee. Very accommodating to our party one of whom had severe food allergies. Would go out of my way to stay there if in the area. Highly recommend.

Because of my health issues I’d have loved if there was a mattress topper on the bed. As it was I was alone in a large bed so I doubled up the duvet as a topper.😁

The B&B was very cute and had on site parking. The room was ready for us and clean. The bed was comfortable and the location is on the river. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We went into Kilkenny by bus and came back via taxi. No issues with transportation. The owner asked us what time we would like breakfast and it was on time. He cooked it for us and it was delicious. The dining room was very quaint and comfortable. Thomastown was a cute and friendly town.

Thomastown is the quinatessial Irish countryside town. The TowerHouse B&B was prefect with it's stone facade and location right off the river. Our host and fellow travelers were friendly. The views spectacluar. After unpacking, we hopped a few of the local pubs. Breakfast was special in a sunroom overlooking the river. I would have love to have stayed longer but we had to rush off to catch a tee time.

Nice and quiet location. Room were of good size, with kettle for tea and coffee. Bathroom was also of good size. Great breakfast inside the owner's house. The house is awsome.

Double was only 140 so a bit small for us. The light goes throught the curtains in the morning so you wake up at 5 am in summer... Room was on the ground floor so anyone passing by could see inside.

This B&B is built in a similar style to the motels in the USA (private entrances on the outside), but cleaner and nicer inside. The host was great, very accommodating to my request for the breakfast to be served at 8am on Sunday morning. Breakfast itself was amazing! Full Irish minus the black pudding. I travelled in February and the heater in the room couldn't keep up to the cold, but the bed had an electric blanket, which once it got going, kept me warm for the night. Soap and shampoo were provided. The little tea corner in the room was nice with tea bags, milk, sugar, and even some biscuits provided.

There were some stains/discolorations on the duvet. The towels had a bit of an odd smell to them. Throughout the night there was the sound of running water, as if there some type of plumbing linked to the heater being on? Also the room itself was quite cold (but I still slept alright due to the electric blanket). At some point in the night I was woken up by people being loud, so I'm wondering how noise is when it's busy, because it was generally very quiet when I was there.

We always try to support areas outside of the larger cities when we can- Thomastown was a winner. We enjoyed our stay at the Tower B&B. Enjoyed learning about the history of the property from the owner. Nice courtyard for relaxing and a large breakfast area. Room was a little tight and there was little ventilation since both windows were on the same side of the building. Ample bathroom with shower. Large towels were a nice bonus! Breakfast was wonderful and the hosts were by far the friendliest!

This is a wonderful place to stay! Beautiful location right on the River Nore in the middle of town, convenient to everything. Michael was a wonderful host and fountain of information about the local area. He showed us around the tower, which has been there since a few centuries ago—fascinating! The courtyard is a wonderful space to sit in the afternoon sun and have a beer. Breakfast was outstanding! Very charming! Parking available off the street.

Terrific location. Very good breakfast choices. Mike (the owner) was great. Very close to the bus stops.. 13 minute walk (sidewalk) to train. Pubs within stumbling distance. Cafe's are great. Restaurants are hit and miss. Great walks. My Juliet is a 30 min walk up Station road. Jerpoint Abbey (different route) about 20 mins, very little sidewalk. Great visit.

Lovely host, very friendly. Breakfast was really good and plentiful The dog is a plus! Bedroom is cosy and sufficiently spacious Bathroom is big There are packing spots available in the courtyard of the house

We were located in the room on the ground floor and we could hear the above neighbors walking and that was a bit annoying as we tried to get some sleep. But luckily they went also to bed and we did not hear anything anymore
