CityClass Hotel Residence am Dom

We had a wonderful stay here. The location couldn't be any more central - literally outside the door were hundreds of bars, cafes and restaurants. You are literally in the heart of town with only short walks to secure car parking, tourist attractions etc. Our room was very spacious with a huge bathroom. Loved the roller shutters on all of the windows as this kept out noise and light, very important when you're in the middle of a city and a church with a bell! Our car was secured in a public underground park one block away, 2 nights for 35EUR which was very reasonable. All of the staff we interacted with had good English and were incredibly friendly and helpful. The last point of mention was the restaurant as breakfast was included: a fantastic selection of cold meats, beautiful cheeses, baking and hot food with great coffee. Should we ever return to Cologne we would love to stay here again!

The hotel was brilliantly located, within sight of the Cathedral and amidst the pleasant squares, brauhauses and restaurants of Cologne. The room was super clean and the breakfast was excellent - wide choice and top quality. The staff were most helpful and sweet-natured. Its a modestly sized property and therefore more personal and in general is very well finished.

Not much could be better. It meets every need of visitors to Cologne. I am trying to think of things to complain about but there isn't anything that comes to mind. I would defnitely return to this hotel if I visit Cologne again.

The most friendly receptionists - everyone of them - 1. Antonia given us the Best room ever with 3 Big windows to start every morning was a Bonus 🥰 2nd Lukas the Most sensitive & caring gentleman that who listen to every single words I said and gave me a Souvenir *Dom as a gift on the last evening we met 🥰 3rd but not least Daniel who went out his way to help me to check on the Farina museum to confirm needed to book online. Everyone are Young & Energetic to solve my questions and requests- thank you so much from the bottom of my ❤️ I wish all of you Nothing but tge Best, stay Safe and be Happy always 😘

Location is best for tourist

Cooked breakfast was o.k but the same things everyday would of liked a bit more variety on the cooked side Peter our waiter was a first class people’s person attentive funny nothing was to much trouble he is a credit to your hotel. Also the other staff there was attentive too but Peter was exceptional. All staff very helpful to our needs.

We booked a double room and my husband and I was very disappointed there was only one chair to accommodate both of us. No shelf in bathroom to put our toiletries on. Slanting ceilings in our room, health and safety issues no markings to alert you. The room was in our opinion 3 star . But the rest of the hotel was 4 star very good. s

The hotel is not far from the station (8min walking), very close to the Cathedral (5min) and to the patisserie-cafe Reichard (5min). Very clean. Staff is excellent.

The breakfast was not very large but for most of the people, it will be ok.

Everything about this hotel is fabulous! From the initial communication with the young lady at the front desk, who was exceptional and so accommodating ..and throughout. We arrived early enough to make the breakfast buffet then walked the Old Town square. Location is key!!! The cathedral, the shopping, and souvenirs. The rooms are immaculately clean and contemporary! We had a party of four so we stayed in 2 rooms! Dinner was a short walk around the corner to eat at Servus, an authentic Bavarian mea and wow! Cologne has to have been out best stop within a two week road trip!

The walk from the underground parking was fine for us but might me tricky for others. It’s a short walk to the hotel.

Excellen location, close to car parking garage and the cathedral, both of these are very important. :) Friendly staff, very nice breakfast.

The lady who was talking to someone during breakfast with the phone switched to its speakers full loud. :) So unpolite. But this wasn't the hotel's failure, however, given the relative silence in the restaurant (except some nice silent music) staff could have asked her to leave the place or drop the line. Anyway, our stay there was still perfect and that lady won't disturb others any more longer in the future as years pass. She had a whole lifetime to practice being polite and failed. Well, maybe in her next life..

Room was clean, bed was comfortable and the Bfast was exceptional. The staff were very helpful as well, the hotel itself couldn't have ben in a better location the Christmas village was just up the road so where a lot of bars and restaurants. The New Years eve festivities or rather fireworks by the people themselves was just a 4minute walk away. But must admit the way the fireworks are done did not impress us at all as its very dangerous to leave people do all the fireworks among the crowds we hope there were not many people injured.

Just the new Years eve celebrations maybe something in an organised manner could be more safe for all to celebrate.

Location was fantastic. Three minutes walk from the dome and four minutes walk to the Heumarkt, with lots of little food and wine stands, and an underground parking, where we also left the car. They have a special deal with the Capac and you get 50% off. The room itself was quite comfortable, even if it was small, but unfortunately in our room, the Aircon was not working and the room and it up being very warm.

The Aircon was not working in the room and it ended up being very warm. Since we stayed only one night, we didn’t even bother mentioning it. I’m sure they would have fix the problem.

The location, very close to the cathedral; the daily complimentary water; that they cleaned the room for the second day of our stay; the noise isolation from the street. You can also leave your luggage after you check-out.

As other reviewers wrote, even if you try and modify the room temperature using the AC control panel, the room stays too hot. You can try to leave the window open, but since the windows face the Alter Markt, the noise can be a little too much and the room won't get that much cooler anyway. The room could also have been a bit cleaner, specially the bathroom.
