Mercure Hotel & Residenz Berlin Checkpoint Charlie

Convenient location for mitte Berlin. Close and walkable to many sites. We had an apartment in the hotel which was great to have a kitchenette as we were there 6 days. A supermarket was just a block away. Staff were super friendly and accommodating. Room was comfortable and had robes and slippers. Bedding was very comfortable .

Good location. Really nice and spacious room, with bath, shower, coffee maker, kettle and a small balcony. Very good breakfast, although they were constantly running out of things.

For a 4star hotel I would expect the cafeteria to be open for more hours, not just after 5.00 pm. And I was surprised they didn't serve filter coffee. The staff was polite, one of them came up to show us how to use the coffee maker. But they weren't very helpful. We wanted to go to the museums, the zoo etc and they didn't know which train we should take. We asked them for a taxi and they told us we could get an Uber!

The staff and facilities were lovely. We had a nice and large room, and whenever we left the housekeeping sign on the door, the room was promptly attended to by staff. The location was fairly central and near all the tourist attractions (Checkpoint Charlie, Brandenburg Gate, Museums, etc.) as well as the Berlin Mall. The bathrooms were very clean, the heating and air conditioning worked wonderfully and we received complimentary drinks and snacks with our stay.

The room was rather dusty and it felt as though the floor had not been vacuumed recently or frequently. Also, the sofa bed for the third person was extremely soft, to the point that it would be unsuitable and highly uncomfortable for most people. We were lucky to have a member of our party who was happy to stay in that bed, as it was untenable to sleep in for the other two of us.

Convenient location, just around the corner from Checkpoint Charlie, and a short walk of 10 minutes to the Holocaust Memorial site, and a further 2 minute walk to Brandenburg Gate. The room was excellent quality, and the quiet at night is amazing, best 3 night's of sleep I've had in years. Breakfast selection was quite good, typical continental breakfast but also had options like cereals, bacon, sausages, etc.

On the first evening I filled out the room service request for morning breakfast and placed it on the door for collection, well in advance of the 20:00 local time cut off. It was still there the following morning, that evening, and the following morning again, no room service. Otherwise no real complaints.

The hotel is in a perfect location. Not far from the city center with all the museums. It's close to the Jewish museum which I highly recommend visiting. The staff was very friendly and responsive to any request from my side. When I had to check out and still had time to spend in the city they stored my luggage. Breakfast was very good. From sweet bakery to cheese, meat, and many more. The coffee was not the perfect Italian quality, but still good enough. The room was spacious and the shower if good looking. The room style is pretty ascetic. In my opinion, missing some decorations.

the location is great. we took a suite with two rooms for the family, with a new born. the rooms are very big with tons of light and windows you can open to get a green patio view. it was very quiet and calm. the bathroom is new and modern with both a sowher and a bathtub. hot water on demand. the breakfast is good with nice touches, like salmon and tropical fruit.

unlike the lobby, the rooms are very old fashioned, when it comes to design. heavy dark furniture that resambles an office, more than a living space. not enough power sockets. only one side of the bed gets an outlet. the room we got had a coffee maker and a kattle, both were old and not clean. the hotel opens the lobby for hot drinks in the afternoon, the coffee is so-so( one man's opinion) and there are no deserts at all, l think it's a miss, since the sitting area is great.

Loved the new(ish) and shiny and clean surfaces and furnitures at bathrooms, spacious rooms, the fact that we had separate shower and bathtub in bathroom. Hotel was really well soundproofed, we hardly heard any noise coming outside our room. Air condition worked perfectly on rooms. Stuff was really nice, helpful and polite. Felt like they really enjoy working there and try to make guests feel safe and welcome. Breakfast was awesome; something for everyone (incl. kids) and as a tea drinker I give extra points for having actual tea leaves and possibility to infuse it yourself instead of tea bags and boiling hot water only as most hotel breakfast rooms.

If I need to figure out something I just don’t get carpet floors in hotels… they always seem a bit messy and have stains and this hotel room unfortunately wasn’t an exeption.

Location is great for this property. very close to the tube stations which takes you to center in 1-2 stops. the place is also very close to the luxurious part of Berlin where you can find expensive restaurants. Also, about the staff. they were really cool. they have done everything to accommodate our requirements to make us 3 separate beds. also, when we came in from a late night out, the guy at the reception was very kind to help us to order food.

This is not only for this property, but in general hotels are very expensive in Berlin. Also, there was no breakfast included into our hotel price which was fine. it was left optional. however, the cost was 25 euros which is very very expensive. breakfast can be more affordable.

Good location for sightseeing, and easy to get to by public transport. Spacious rooms. Nice heated floor in the bathroom, and toilet separate to bathroom. Liked being able to have a sauna.

Arrived at about midnight and sofa bed not set up for our third person (adult daughter). Had trouble with folding out the sofa bed, and went down to reception to ask about it but we were told by the staff member that he was new and we would have to wait until the next day for help, and he suggested our daughter sleep on the couch! We finally worked it out, but no doona, pillow or towels, so had to go back to reception to get these - disappointed with the time this took, given we were already tired from travelling.

Quiet location within a few minutes walk to all amenities. Lovely clean and spacious family room liked the separate toilet . Very good breakfast all Freshly baked pastries, bread rolls etc and freshly chopped fruit salad. Hotel grounds were well kept and staff very courteous.

I couldn’t really find any faults but if i were to be picky, the fitness room only contained a tread mill and cross trainer, that being said both looked fairly new and in good working order, sufficient for a daily cardio work out. Also it would have been nice to have baked beans, grilled tomatoes and mushrooms to complete the full English breakfast menu, however all the food on offer was of excellent quality!
