ibis Berlin City Potsdamer Platz

The location is great, you have a subway station and a bus stop nearby, it's less than 5 minutes walking after you get off. Then it's only 10 minutes to the central train station by bus, so it was great. The hotel room was good, not really big but it wasn't an issue since it was just a short stay.

The pillows were very soft, I had to fold mine to sleep properly. The beds were separating in the middle during our night, so they should have something better holding them together for couples. The water pressure in the shower was okay, nothing special.

Breakfast was good, loved the variety of cheese. the eggs and bacon were good. I wish the glasses were bigger, I had to refill my lemon water 4 times to get satisfied as the cups were tiny.

I dealt with around 6 people, 4 of the were very kind and helpful, 2 of them were not, I checked out at 12 and they stored my bags mean while I waited to get my train, the girl who returned my bags wasn`t very kind she seemed to be upset. the first night I arrived late and didn`t have an electric adapter so I called the reception and the guy who answered wasn`t kind either.

great location, basic but clean rooms and good value for money.

The location is great for the various places we needed to access in Berlin. Easy access to bus, tram and submay and witrhin walking distance of many places.

I stayed here about 3-4 years ago, before the pandemic. Although the breakfast seemed to have a reasonable selection, the spread was much better then. Additionally, one could eat an evening meal in the restaurant if needed and that option has since disappeared. That was a big minus for me as sometimes I just didn't want to go searching for a restaurant.

The location is amazingly placed! Close to the most important attractions, and also 2 minutes away from a train station which goes everywhere you need to go. The breakfast was good, but gets progressively boring everyday, since it is the same thing, and not a lot of variety to choose from. Anyhow, for a 4-5 nights stay is perfectly fine! We would probably go again, since the placement is really everything you can wish for!

The rooms are not soundproofed, so you can hear EVERYTHING from the hallway. Not such an issue if you have earplugs, but otherwise could be a problem for a sound sensitive person. As I previously mentioned the breakfast is a bit boring after a few days, but not a great problem whatsoever. They do have a waffle maker which is very convenient for a sweet tooth :D

The location was excellent, close to both subway lines and several bus stops. Checkpoint Charlie was just a 10 min walk away and the walk to Potsdamer Platz shops was also quite short.

I found the location of some of the wall plugs in our room a bit confusing and a bit too exposed (to water for e.g.). One of the plugs was right under a light switch at an awkward hight to actually use it for anything. Would be great if the plugs were closer to the bed.

i went to stay here during Berlin Marathon 2023. Starting with check-in at 9Pm, its location is perfect by traveling by bus no.M41 from Berlin HBF or via S bahn Anhalter station. I chose bus and I found it was much convenience if you have large luggage! I could not find a lift at Anhalter station ! However, without them, commuting in Berlin via S bahn is perfect. Breakfast is full of choice; scramble eggs, ham, bread, coffee, fruit, milk etc. Bed is soft and warm. Could be a bit small for non-asian traveler but good enough.

I think room cleaning needs improvement. Found dust and dirt on table, chair and bathroom so I had to look carefully and clean another time before lay them.

I was very happy with the hotel. I came with low expectations and the hotel surpassed my expectations. Some of the strong points are here: --- The hotel is very simple, i.e. no effort has been wasted on things like chandeliers, paintings, etc. At the same time, all important things were in good working order (e.g. WiFi, shower and air conditioner). --- Very good and stable wireless internet. I had to run several Zoom meetings with video during my stay and they all worked without any problem. --- Very good air conditioning. There was a heat wave of 29-32 C during my stay but the room was always comfortably cool. True, I had a room facing north, which was possibly of help also. --- The breakfast room was never crowded.

--- The breakfast was very simple. The choice of items for breakfast could be somewhat wider. --- The price could be somewhat lower considering the very simple nature of the hotel.

The hotel is perfectly located near S/U stations, very good for sightseeing. Also great spot to rent a bike. Near shops like Lidl or Spatkauf. The room was very clean, not too big, but enough for a couple. The bed was very comfortable. The staff is nice, nothing extra, a little annoyed I would say, but maybe they were having a worse weekend. All in all a lovely stay.
